"Good and evil are perspective of ones mind, I assure you I am not an enemy," TAD put the sword away, "He has and history, which is why he was on this ship," it then pushed off the ground, with the aid of a few thrusters, TAD launched over the broken trees. From this airal view, Locke could be seen evacuating the area. Using the back thrusters, pushed itself forward before falling toward the ground. TAD took pursuit after Locke, "If you do not seize your evasion, I will be forced to take lethal actions," a speaker projected out the AI voice. Locking on to Locke with a thermal scanner, TAD jumped up again, this time using the back thrusters a little more to gain ground. TAD landed roughly just behind Locke.

History? Was that good or bad? Regardless, Anhangsel didn't know who's side he was on. Neither of them seemed evil, but TAD was starting to seem less likeable than Locke right now. Anhangsel started to chase after the two, eventually finding Locke. Anhangsel wanted to talk to him. "What's going on?" he asked. "Why is he chasing you? I didn't tell him to do that."

Is this RP still open? I had just finished designing and refining my character. Also, if it is still open, where do I post my character profile?

OOC: I sure hope it is. We could use some more members.

Special Skill:
Upon activation, an energy shield is created (2 meter radius) around me. The energy shield absorbs kinetic and energy attacks for one minute. Kinetic/physical attacks are converted into nanites, and energy attacks are stored in a temporary capacitor.
After the one minute is up, two things can happen:
1. Within that force shield, the converted nanites and stored energy swarm the inside, damaging enemies and healing/helping allies.
2.The converted nanites and stored energy are combined, then focused with my arms. I can then release a deadly and destructive nanite/energy beam from my hands at a target of my choosing.
*(This power will drain me of a huge store of my energy reserves, therefore, this can only happen once per charge.)

-A small iPod sized device developed by the Alterans that shows any and all life signs within a 50 meter radius.

-An energy pistol that fires compressed energy bursts. It has two settings: Kill and Stun. Kill can injure/kill the target, while Stun can temporarily incapacitate/stun the target for 5-10 minutes. It comes with a built-in energy crystal that slowly recharges from subspace, but can be recharged with any power source (if powerful enough).
-#integral in body# Since Asurans are basically a local collective of nanites, most Asurans can modify the integral structure of their body to perform specific functions, such as making their arms into blades, fingers into keys, and feet into something that can make them swim better, etc.

Appearance:
Clothes: Matte black = baseball-style cap, military pants, military rucksack, and military jacket. Matte coyote tan = shirt, utility belt, military boots, combat gloves, and socks. Matte black/ matte coyote tan Shemagh scarf wrapped around neck. Utility belt has a pouch for the LSD and a holster for the Neutralizer.
Body: Medium build (large lag mass, medium arm mass), 6'2", thick black head hair, full trimmed beard, intricate tattoo/scar on upper left cheek, no hair anywhere else, pale white skin, light purple eyes.

Personality:
Quiet, keeps mostly to himself, creative, active in groups, doesn't like to be a leader (but will if the situation arises), determined, focused, loves his job/specialty, loyal to his people and race, helpful.

Race Biology:
Asurans are a nanomorphic race. Basically, each separate Asuran is a collection of millions and trillions of cell-like nanites. This makes Asurans extremely resilient and adaptive. There is another aspect of the Asuran nanites that makes them stand out from the other nanomorphic/android races: each separate nanite has the ability to collect raw material and replicate itself, kind of like organic cells performing mitosis. Because of this, any injury an Asuran receives can be quickly healed, making them very effective.
Every Asuran is independent and by him/herself, sentient. Each Asuran has the ability to connect to the Asuran Collective, a network in subspace of many, many Asuran nanites communicating and sharing information with each other.
Asurans have a very unique way of getting energy for themselves. In the Asuran body, a special designated cluster of nanites acts as a sort of generator. These nanites draw energy from subspace, making the amount of energy they can have almost infinite. Each nanite can also act as a capacitor. They can also draw power from other sources, such as power sources (nuclear, solar, etc), but they can also produce energy like other organic life forms by consuming materials, such as food.
There is a down side to drawing energy through subspace, though. When drawing energy from subspace, the activity can be monitored and tracked, making this technique ineffective when in situations requiring stealth. To counter this, the Asurans can shut themselves down for about an hour, and draw energy through subspace slowly, making the subspace activity undetectable.
Even though Asurans come with many advantages, they also come with disadvantages, which I made up, because a real Asuran is practically unstoppable......:

-weapons using plasma and/or extreme heat can fuse nanites (bad)
-need neutronium for mass replication
-most radiation will interfere with inter-nanite communication, making responses/reflexes sluggish
-nanite disrupting technology (Alteran/Asgard/Tau'ri) can kill them (200-240 nanometers on low power settings)
-explosions can sever the links between the nanites (grenades, missiles, nukes,etc)
-vacuum space and direct solar radiation can disable them
-cannot use personal cloaking devices, because the radiation given off by cloaking devices disrupts inter-nanite communication
-subspace recharging can be tracked
-EMP from nukes (or larger) can disable them
-cannot ascend in nanomorphic form

History:
Millions of years ago, in a distant galaxy, there lived a race that called themselves the Alterans. They were on an evolutionary path to ascension, but there were two factions. The first, Alterans, used and believed in science and knowledge; and the second, Ori, used religion. The Ori, becoming radical, wanted to wipe out the Altera, because they didn't want to be part of their religion. So the Altera packed up, built a large ship, and left the galaxy in search for a new start.
After years and years of searching galaxies and traveling in hyperspace, they found one they loved. We call it the Milky Way, but they called it Avalon. After searching the galaxy, they discovered that some of the worlds had life on them, mostly on a planet that they called 'Terre', or 'Earth'. The Alterans themselves settled on two planets that they named 'Proclarush-Taonas' and 'Dakara'. After that, they seeded almost all of the habitable planets with a transportation device they called an 'Astriaporta', or Stargate. It looked like a big, upright ring with 9 chevrons,39 constellation glyphs, and had a 'puddle' of water in the center (event horizon) when it was activated. It created a stable, artificial wormhole in subspace that allowed people (among other things) to travel freely and instantly between other worlds with Stargates.
Many years later, while live prospered in Avalon, woe suddenly befell it when a mysterious disease ravaged all the worlds in Avalon. It caused mass extinction on all planets with a Stargate, for they were all connected. The Alterans, devastated by this loss, constructed a device on Dakara that seeded a new life form on all worlds with Stargates. It was the second evolution of their form; humans. Then, they built a massive city-ship, Atlantis, and left the galaxy in search for another.
They found another galaxy that they called 'Pegasus' and seeded most habitable worlds with life and Stargates. They set up their homeworld on a planet they called 'Lantea' and landed Atlantis in the vast ocean. Life prospered in Pegasus for thousands of years. One day, some of the Alterans were exploring an unpopulated planet, and found an interesting species on it. It was a sort of bug that latched onto humans' necks and literally sucked the life force out of them. They called it 'Iratus' and left it alone. Over the duration of thousands of years, some humans visited that planet and never left. The Iratus kept feeding on the humans so much that it started to absorb the DNA of its prey. Over those thousands of years, it evolved into a humanoid species with the ability to feed off humans' life force. They advanced in technology very quickly and even built massive hybrid-organic space ships.
As their numbers grew, so did their hunger, so they started conquering worlds and keeping their human herds. Taken by surprise, the Alterans were the only ones left. The Wraith, adopting their nicknames as a name for their race, besieged Atlantis for many years, but the city's shield held. The Altera could win almost every battle, but saw no way to win the war. Then, instead of making bigger, more powerful weapons, they created smaller ones; nanites. The Alterans set up on a secluded planet called 'Asuras' and started their project. They built nanites that could assimilate organically and self replicate, and implanted them with a code that contained an aggression so great, it surpassed even the Wraith. Then, without warning, the nanites started interlocking and replicating into the most advanced and efficient form they knew of; human. The nanite beings, being sentient and independent by themselves, begged the Altera to remove the aggressive coding, but the Alterans refused, for they were desperate for a weapon. After realizing that they would never get the weapon they wanted, the Alterans sent a small fleet to Asuras and wiped out the nanites and their growing cities and societies.
The Alterans, seeing that there was no hope, decided to leave Atlantis, and gate back to Terre. However, not everyone thought all was lost. Janus, the lead scientist in Atlantis, had an idea. In secret, he made another nanite being and name him 'Asura', after the planet. He created him without the aggressive code and with another goal: to go back to Asuras and restore the nanite civilization there. He gave him tools, weapons, and all of the Alterans knowledge. Then, he told him one last thing, "Call you race the "Asurans" and sent him there through the Stargate.
Shortly after, the Alterans submerged Atlantis (the shield holding the water back) and left through the Stargate to Terre. The city slept for almost 10,000 years until the expedition team from Earth came there through the gate; the 'Tau'ri', the people of Earth. Over those thousands of years, Asura rebuilt and recreated his brethren and together, they restored the planet. They built massive cities and large societies, while striking covertly at the Wraith. But not all was well at Asuras. Scientists unearthed older, inactive nanites that survived the destruction of Asuras, and found a certain part of the base code that was interesting. In their haste, they accidentally uploaded the code to one of the scientists, and it spread like an infection through the Asuran Collective network. When the plague had finished spreading, only a handful of Asurans remained, including Asura. The unaffected Asurans left Asuras in secret, and started another colony on an isolated planet they named 'Nova Asuras'; or 'New Asuras'.
The affected Asurans, consumed by the aggression code and the memory of the Alteran's destruction of their world, started annihilating both Wraith and humans and their worlds. The Tau'ri and Wraith, though bitter enemies, saw no choice but to destroy the Asurans. They teamed up and assaulted Asuras, overloaded the planet's core, and destroyed Asuras. Later, after a little while, the Tau'ri somehow found information about a new Asuran colony. The Tau'ri traveled to Nova Asuras and surrounded the planet. The unaffected Asuran colony was taken by surprise. They managed to open negotiations between their two sides before the fighting started, and explained what had happened with the affected Asurans. The Tau'ri, though cautious, believed the Asuras, and an alliance between the two was forged. To this day, the Asuran/Tau'ri Alliance (ATA) stands strong. The majority of the Asuran fleet remains occupied with defending Tau'ri settlements in Pegasus and fighting the Wraith.
The colony on Nova Asuras grew even larger and even more powerful than the previous Asuran planet. However, Asura, not wanting to be a major political figure and not wanting one person to have control over the Collective, set up a Representative Oligarchy for Nova Asuras, but still serves an a advisor to the Asuras Collective Council. He also serves as one of the ambassadors to the Tau'ri and other races, but mostly works as an engineer for Nova Asuras' power generation and distribution grid. He also commands a medium sized 'Cruiser'-classed ship which he named 'Asuras', to commemorate the original planet of his people.
The Tau'ri has asked Asura if he can serve as the temporary advisor to the power engineer on their new prison ship 'Hermes' for the duration of her maiden voyage.

Asura checked the power system and recommended that they switch back to Naquadah instead of Naquadria, because the Hermes' systems are too weak to handle the instability of Naquadria.

OOC: ohh... Jeeze... Well... Idk what to fully make of it...

OOC: Anyways, since this is my first RP, I have a very important question: How do I roleplay? o:

OOC: oh joy! Lol. Well it's like writing a story, just you control only your characters, but you cannot just do whatever you pleas. You just stop somewhere for other players to react, and there are realism limits(sleep, food, poison(if so brought in), dangers, ect.), anything that is produced by the creator to be aware of. It is/can be rather simple, if you want you can read over the information in the "sticky" topics above(out in the RP section)

OCC: Looks like my friend finally made it. Hello Mr.Russian. Of course I accept.

OOC: Don't forget to RP, HerrMythology. You too, Cortland.

OOC: So, when do we start?

OCC: I'm not forgetting to role-play, I just didn't realize SpyroD posted...haha... We already started Courtland. Just kind of find a way to fit your character in.

Locke hears a loud crash behind him. Well, he can definitely fly... I'm going to assume a model like that has some very good ventilation to... There is only one way to get away from this thing. Locke looks down at his arm and roughly begins attaching the communicator to his arm, tearing it apart and applying it's pieces amongst his arm, heating it up and welding it amongst his arm. This is the crudest job I have ever done, but I'm sure it will work well enough. Locke dives into a hole in the ground and charges up his stun gun at its full capacity. I'm sure there is an animal in here somewhere. A massive centipede crawls up to him and he fires his stun gun into it and grabs its stunned body and waited.

*Back at the ship Hermes. Power Generation Grid compartment. Asura is lying on the floor beside a console. He is unconscious.*
*Inside Asura's mind*
Main system cortex: Repairs complete. All systems are functional. Rebooting Asura.....
Asura opens his eyes. He frowns. 'Hmm, they never listen to me, those dang Tau'ri'

(OOC: Tau'ri is the name of the 'Earthlings' or people from Earth.)

He looked around the compartment. The Naquadria reactor was intact, the protective containment energy shield was up around the core, the core was leaking neutron radiation, and the right side of the wall was caved in. 'Great. Well, I had better check in with the Collective' Asura closed his eyes and opened a subspace link to the Asuran Collective.



He found the section where the Council was meeting and reported that he was stranded on a planet. When they asked why and how, he told them that the Chief Engineer was too stubborn (or too stupid) to listen to his advice. When he asked them if they could send a rescue, they told him that the Tau'ri had received intel about a heavily guarded Wraith cloning facility and they were coordinating with them to assault it, and they can't send anyone because all the ships with interstellar hyperdrives were busy dealing with the Wraith. Realizing that it would be faster if he got out of there himself, he wished them luck and severed the link.

(OOC: The Asuran homeworld and the Wraith threat is in another galaxy. The Pegasus galaxy, which is quite far from the Milky Way; about 2 weeks in hyperspace.)

'Well, I have to shut the dang reactor off before it contaminates the whole planet.'
He accessed the main control console and tried to find the shutdown protocol. "Error, shutdown protocol corrupted", said the console's computer. Asura frowned. He started typing up a basic shutdown virus. After finishing, he put his right hand on the console and his nanites seeped through the console into the mainframe, uploaded the virus, and executed it. The reactor started to hum and shut down. Asura activated the core cleaning system and it started removing radioactive traces. As the containment shield shutdown, Asura came up to the reactor and removed the Naquadria block.
"I told them to switch back to Naquadah, but they said 'Our systems can handle it, they are strong enough'. But still, I wonder, what made the ship crash?"
Asura placed the block in a containment tank and went back to the console. He ran a systems diagnostic and found out a massive power surge had hit the engine's subsystem and overloaded it, causing the engines to de-synchronize from navigation and crash into the planet.
"Well, this ship is not going to fly for a while; better get out of here," he said as he found his pack. He checked to make sure all his belonging were still there, then he made his way out of the ship.
As he came out, he went to the rear of the ship and checked the rear thrusters. Most of the sublight thrusters were completely burnt out.

(OOC: Is it okay if I add technology related to the Stargate series? If so, most ships have 3 types of propulsion: Anti-gravity fields (bubble around a ship that pushes it around), sublight thrusters (thrusters using energy particles to push a ship), and hyperdrives (a drive that opens a 'window' into subspace, allowing the ship to enter subspace, fly to a destination, and drop out of subspace at that location. AKA: Hyperspace).

He circled around the ship and noticed 3 entities. A human, some unusual snake-like lifeform, and an andriod. He chuckled. 'What would I look like if I wasn't made of nanites? Still, that looks pretty advanced.' Suddenly, the andriod pulled out some sort of energy/plasma blade and the human ran off. The andriod and the other lifeform followed. Asura put his hand on his Neutralizer energy pistol. As he cautiously neared them, he could hear the snake-like lifeform speaking.

OOC: Just for the record, Anhangsel is trying to ask Locke about why TAD's attacking him.

Anhangsel got no comment from Locke. "Did I do something wrong?" Anhangsel asked him. And when things could not get more confusing, another entity showed up. Anhangsel looked at Locke and back at the newcomer. His first instinct was to protect Locke. He saw he already had a giant Centipede shield, but that would only protect him so much. "Please... Don't hurt Locke," he said. "What did he do?"

OOC: Anhangsel went to talk to Locke about the situation. And he's not a slug, he's a "mole snake." That's actually what "Maulwurf-Schlange" means.

OOC: I should have said 'slug-like' or something similar. Let me edit it.

OCC: You realize that I just ran a great distance and am now hiding in a centipede burrow right? I can't hear anyone unless they ran after me and even then they would be in the way of TAD, and that doesn't seem like a smart move.

Locke is finishing up on his arm, hoping TAD doesn't come for him.

OOC: Yeah, that's what I originally thought.....

OOC: Here is what I think is happening: Locke ran off and is doing something in a centipede burrow with a stunned centipede, TAD was about to chase Locke but Anhangsel is asking him why he is chasing Locke etc, and I am about to come up to TAD and Anhangsel. Right?

OOC: I don't know. What should be happening? Should I do my post over?

OOC: I think we should go by what I said in my earlier post, if everyone is okay with that.

OOC: I'll just redo it a bit.

TAD halted at the hole Locke dived in to, "You will not survive down there. The planet will sweat you out, or boil you in there," TAD turned to Asura, "This human, Locke, has escaped his cell upon crash land, and I am ordered to obtain either a sign of their death or their living forms, and report back to the ship with my findings. I do not require assistance, but if you will, I will accept the help."

NOW after Anhangsel caught up with TAD and they made it to Locke, Anhangsel asked for more info. "Wait. He doesn't seem like bad one. Why should you attack him?" Anhangsel was confused right now. He didn't know who's side to be on. "You're not gonna hurt him, are you?"

OOC: I'm confused too.

TAD turned to Anhangsel, "He is a criminal amongst his people. He may seem nice, but he still has to pay his price," TAD then settled the gears and plates to have the suit rest at about 5 foot 2 inches, "I will not hurt him if he complies to my orders. My orders are to bring back any escaped fugitives, or bring back some sort of sign that they have died. I plan to bring back who or what I can alive. If it means breaking his legs and dragging him back, it is a doable option."

Asura considered TAD's offer and tried to think of a peaceful solution to it. "Android, while I agree that this inmate should be detained, we need to work together and find a way off of this planet. Logically, if we don't work together, our chances are severely diminished. So here is my offer: you do not incarcerate the human, we find a way off of this planet, then after we do that, you will resume your duties."
'I hope he doesn't see any of that as a threat', thought Asura.

Asura explained to TAD what had happened with the ship (refer to post #69 for details). He also asked what was TAD's name and primary function(s).

OOC: There we go, now we are back on track.

TAD was not settled for long. The gears and plates fired up again to raise the bot to the 7 foot height. Walking up to Asura, "I cannot preform any other duties without command from an official," TAD's external neon lit up a little as a higher power output was being burned up, "I am AI Zexu in control of an experimental heavy lifting suit. Equipped for combat with hardened titanium plaiting, and external propulsion thrusters. It is also equipped with a high energy duel sided plasma blade and a compacted targeting Tesla Coil. This suit also acts as a part time space, aquatic, or medical suit. Medical reserves have been cut mostly for the nuclear power core that will sustain this machine with what power is demanded of it. High radiation levels prevent human use unless vented out and self recharge from nuclear posting is shut down and set to reserve power," TAD leaned forward, "You should already know who I am, why I am here, and that I cannot take orders from you. If you see that statement as a threat, it was not intended to be. I must ask that you remain calm about the crash. We can scavenge the debris and patch up the holes and reset the mainframe. Even if I have to download myself into the ship, we will eventually leave the planet. It just takes time, and until then, I have my orders I must follow," TAD turned back to the hole, "Since we have so much time, I can wait out here for as long as I need Locke."

"Ah, but you see, there is one single problem that we cannot fix. I would have more knowledge about this, because I was asked to advise the Chief Power Engineer. The Hermes' power core was designed to handle two elements for nuclear fuel: Naquadah and its highly unstable isotope, Naquadria. The CPE was overconfident and used Naquadria first, but the system was too weak to handle the extreme power fluctuations. Even if I fixed the reactor, we have no supply of Naquadah. We could use Uranium, but the quantity we would have to acquire is enourmous."

(OOC: Naquadah is an element similar to Uranium, but more stable and more powerful. Naquadria is a very powerful, but extremely unstable isotope of Naquadah.)

Asura was starting to get annoyed. 'There must be a way for it's logic core to adapt to these extremely flimsy protocols', he thought. Meanwhile, Asura started to notice that the other lifeform was getting extremely uneasy and worried. "Who and what are you, and what was your role on the Hermes?" he asked it.

OOC: I hope there is a way out of this situation. O:

Locke Crawls out of the hole, his arm device finally finished Time for a light show, "I've fixed ships, machines, and computers my entire life and I'm telling you right now: There is no way in hell your getting that ship to fly again. Install and download all you want, it's not a software problem, Half the ships hardware is gone. Even if it was all intact, the wings and propulsion is gone, Scrap metal. Even I can't piece that thing back together. That's not what really concerns you though. You're a robot and you have a command; You'll follow it to the end of the universe. I can respect that, but I'm not ready to die yet." Locke's robotic arm begins to glow faintly.

"That's what I have been trying to tell them", said Asura dully. Asura tried to identify what the purpose of the device was, but he needed a closer look.
"What is that device?", he asked Locke.

"I... I don't know what is going on," Anhangsel said before looking at Lockes arm. Anhangsel saw it before, but did not see Locke use it. Still, with what was going on, Anhangsel had much on his mind. He didn't know where he was or if he was in danger. Anhangsel started to coil up, making small quiet whimpers. Even though he had no knowledge of this planet, he could adapt pretty easily. But being around the others made him feel very uncomfortable. "I don't know if I *snort* want to stay here. I don't feel safe," he said before slowly slinking away.

"It's ok," said Asura to Anhangsel. He moved closer to the Maulwurf-Schlange. "Nobody is going to be hurt."

Asura didn't know what to do. The device looked harmless enough, but then again, looks can be deceiving. It looked familiar, almost identifiable, but..........
Asura smiled a bit, 'I know what that is.....'
He ordered his power extraction nanites to open a direct conduit to subspace.

TAD turned to Asura, "I said I am an AI, I take orders and follow them with guidelines and extreme caution," then back to Locke, "I'd rather there not be a conflict between either of us. My extensive knowledge of what the humans know can get us off this planet. The ship may not be repairable, not completely anyway. Scavenged parts and the right know how, a smaller version with considerably similar power. With a processor accelerator from Asura, my nuclear core can power the makeshift craft and get most of us off the planet," TAD suggested, "Or, the intelligent creatures you are, can adapt to the planet jus as you had to on multiple occasions."

Asura thought this over. "You power calculations are incorrect. This planet's solar system is 16 light years away from the closest Space Station. Without a proper naquadah/naquadria/or more powerful power source, the journey use sublight engines would take more than 100 years. The organics will not survive. We need a power source capable of powering a hyperdrive. Then there is the problem with life support; you can't just smack a ship together using spare parts."

Asura thought for a moment. He signaled for Locke, Anhangsel, and TAD to calm down and listen to him.

"I do have another solution, but it is a bit time consuming."

Anhangsel decided to take orders for now. But he kept his suspicions in case anyone tried to attack him. Anhangsel was put in this situation, so he might as well go with it.

Locke smiled, "Finally, someone who knows what they are talking about."

OOC: Who knows what who is talking about?

"If you put your abilities, Asura, to good use, you could make your own engine, or naquadah and isotope. The nanites you are composed of can easily reprogram a ship, or even replicate any necessary parts or items," TAD settled the panels to hold a 6 foot 2 inch height, "Or is the data logged by the humans incorrect. which would lead to someone lieing, producing false information."

"The data can't be wrong, because I saw the condition the reactor was in when I shut it down. As for replicating a large quantity of things, that would be a problem." Asura pulled out a small, dull block of metal from his pack, "My nanites are made of Neutronium, one of the most dense materials in this universe. I can only replicate as long as I have a suffiecient quantity of it. I could us other materials, but they would be not as strong." He put the cube away.

Asura sat down on a nearby rock and picked up a small shard of metal that was lying on the ground and started converting it into a small block of nanites.
"There may be another way off this planet." He looked at the awkward stance everyone was at. "Even though this sector of space has a surprising lack of them, have you all ever heard of a device called a 'Stargate', 'Chappa'ai', 'Ring of the Gods', or 'Anulus'?"

Anhangsel thought about the words. "Stargate. Ring of *snort* the Gods. Anulus. Chappai. ...Wait..." None of those rang a bell to Anhangsel. "What are they?"

OCC: Let's try to avoid the use of stargates and other asgardian tech. I don't want the Star gate technology to be the main technology in the role-play.

Locke grimaced, "I'd rather not use any tech of unknown origin. I'd much rather make it to a city and 'acquire' one there."
