An introduction board where new members introduce themselves? I've seen this on quite a few forums and I figure it would be great to get to know the mods/admin better or just let other members know who you really are (no personal info, though).

A thing on the side of a topic that tells you how many views the topic has.

Is there a topic somewhere about approved topics? If not, could someone tell me? Because people have made topics that don't really need their own topic because it belongs in a different topic. So I was thinking about this because I wanted people to find the right place to post.

A real-time chat would be cool!

Seriously, right now they're the most pathetic and useless thing on the website. It's not any better than going on the topic itself and clicking the "New post" dragon.
Make a little notification bar or something, like this :

I like the idea since I am an avid user of the subscription feature but I think the number beside the Subscription link should be how many subscriptions you have not the number of new posts in it.It should just use the dragon like it it does for topics.

I think we could use a 'Group Chat' or a feature where you can send the same message to more than one person at a time. That would come in handy since I have to send the same message to three people when I post a new chapter for my story.

I’d personally like the idea of new users having to prove their determination and contributions to these forums before they can advance to normal level. This could be done with a few different forum areas. The forum area that is for the respected all ready established forum people and the other class is for them who have to learn to behave here and show some true enthusiasm for the life of this place.

Some websites have premium memberships with larger signatures, avatars, guestbooks, privileges to secret forums, no adds, etc.

I have a suggestion, although new to the forums that has bothered me. I do not like seeing the stock pictures on the darkSpyro banner above the games sidebar. Many are blurry and/or bland. Would an option such as uploading your own images for your personal scrollbar be possible, much like avatars?

Seriously, DEFINITELY. Although I have never been a victim of that, I don't want to be a future one.

I actually was just thinking about this. In the Skylanders Toys/Merch section, we have a bunch of stickies. Someone suggested purging some of them, but I think the better answer would be to split Toys/Merch up. Having a separate forum specifically for "other" non-figure toys and merchandise would cut out a lot of things including a few stickies. In its place, I think the regular "Toys" forum needs a "Sightings Thread", since we usually end up getting a bunch of threads of people seeing X figure at Walmart and then at Target, etc. Its not necessary to have ones every single time someone sees something.

tl;dr: Get rid of the "Universe" listing, split Toys and Merchandise into "Skylanders Game Toys" and "Skylanders Merchandise"

Due to the recent events that have taken their respective place around here I am very strongly opinionated that there needs to be some basic forum-infrastructural changes around here. I have presented this idea before but I did not write it good enough to make sense. But allow me to try it one more time.

This forum needs a subforum for the new beginners and controversial users. So my idea is that there would be different stages of posting privileges. This new subforum in what the new beginners start is open to everyone. Let us call this stage 1 in terms of posting privilege levels. This subforum could be a little version of the main forums with same topics but the goal of its existence is to mature and prepare rookies for the main forum.

Topics could only be created by the permission of assigned moderator and of course the administrator of this whole site. This arrangement makes it easy to create a line of topics that display certain whole image of what regular dS poster should be in terms of good internet conversation etiquette etc. This line of topics would include general topics about Spyro, Skylanders, general chat etc.

So this subforum would serve as a farm league of dS. When new member has depicted good promise and ability to behave the user can be given the “stage 2” privileges to post which means that the beginner can become full-fledged regular user and can post in every topic available. This system could be applied to users who have become gnorcs.

I know that this arrangement sounds highly elitist, arrogant and could create a gap of equality but the point is just to make better and more quality-oriented forum when implemented with care and consideration. I know that the idea is very surreal and, depends on one’s point of view, utopian or dystopian. I know that this is controversial suggestion and if one does not like this idea, I’m sorry. But I think that this is a distant option and tool. It would take higher level of dedication for the trolls to get permission to the topics and pointlessly provoke people. At least this is what I think currently.
