Interesting....name your skylander contest...is this for the current game or the next game?

Obviously co-insides with whatever information they release at Toy Fair.

Is it just for a $5 coupon or is there going to be a real prize? Wait a second... Name a hero? That sounds like we're going to be coming up with names for skylanders. Sounds cool.

By the time, the promotion comes, Toy Fair would be over and we would possibly see what Skylanders 4 is like, and some of the new Skylanders, and see which of the new Skylanders they want us to name.

That's pretty awesome. Wonder if they're gonna show characters to name or if it's just name something and describe it?

Also, that stock artwork for the characters looks very odd. S1 Triggs, Stealth and Eruptor, Jet Vac, S2 Prism, Gilly and Spyro? And, is it just me or is there something definitely off about that Spyro artwork? (I mean, obviously its S2 Spyro, but the cheeks look really weird)

Pretty cool. I wonder what restrictions apply to the scholarship. I've been out of school for nearly 10 years, and I have no plans to go back for a Master's Degree--especially now that I have kids. But it would be cool to use that scholarship for when my oldest goes to college, but that's a ways away.

I would definitely try if I could use the money to pay off my student loans.

My understanding was that we would create our own characters. Was I wrong in understanding that?

It's a little disappointing seeing all the cool contests for kids only open to people younger than 14 so this makes me kinda happy for selfish reasons :u

TFB/Activision must get literally FLOODED in "MAKE THIS SKYLANDER" requests, it's nice that they're open to some kind of fan input even if it's only a name.


I only skimmed the rules, but what does it say for duplicate entry names? What if a name gets picked but many people suggested it?

You could have the three characters there for hype without revealing the game. That Chicago Tribune article says Skylanders will have a presence at ToyFair, they just won't reveal the game.

It is a pity it is only open to those in the US.I mean there is other places in the world.

No there's a loop hole. The enterer was over 18 years old, even if it's not their idea they had permission to use it thus, it's legal.

If we can reasonably say the characters we saw in the Mega Bloks leak are the new characters, then we've technically seen them already. However, there's no guarantee that on the 24th they'll reveal those characters or any at all. They could just have some descriptions of the characters, or something else like a silhouette. Its really hard to say because they've never done something like this before.

Just did a test, the site reads you Computer time. I bet that it's going to open at 12:00 AM EST.

The time it starts is the time of your computer because I am in pacific time zone.
It definitely is reading the time on your computer.

Frito-lay is based in Texas which is central time, so maybe there's one more hour to go.

Yes. Or that. Listen, I'll go, as Pop Thorn says, straight to the point, with this: I live in Italy, and yesterday, at 24:00, the countdown on the site stopped. So I refreshed the page, and nothing changed. Ok, I tought, tomorrow it will certainly be updated. Then, after 8 hours, more or less, the page is still freezed at the 0 0 0 countdown. I don't know what is 24:00 AM here, in Europe, but I think it's roughly 8/9 nine hours of difference. So, can someone, please, confirm at wich hour will the contest officially start (if it hasn't started yet)?

Looks like someone goofed with the timer. It was supposed to be noon, not midnight.

Nice, just entered. No purchase is required to submit your entry. From the wording on the site, looks like there will be 3 finalists (one for each Skylander) and then a voting period afterwards from May to June. Might just be how I'm interpreting it, but at the end when you submit your entry, it seems like ONE of the three characters will get in. "check back to see what Skylander will come to life" or something like that.
