Does anyone know the true value and size of the exclusivity of the arena tour version dark spyro?

The value depends on what someone would spend, check ebay.

No, the Arena Tour was a special event for Spyro's Adventure that happened in the UK. It showcased a small bit of Giants.

Yeah, hard to get excited about a very small box change. Figure still is what the figure is.

Yep, that's the only difference. My knowledge goes as far as the fact that they were handed out mainly to people who were 'invited' by Activision and as prizes.

In terms of worth, I think only die-hard collectors would ever pay more than the price a regular Dark Spyro goes for. And I don't think there are many variant box collectors out there.

Ages ago, someone told me that one sold for $700. He actually owns one.

There is actually a THIRD version... This one, I own one which I won(I'm not selling it, before you may ask). This one has the blue label on the cardboard at the top but no "arena tour exclusive" label. It has the US/AU hook. EB Games in Australia gave them away in a colouring contest. I believe only 500 were given away.


I think they gave this version away at some US tour too, though. Also, I think they gave some Dark Spyro single packs away at the EB Games expo that year, but I don't know if they were this version. I remember they sold Dark Spyro single packs in some other country too (I think it was Singapore) and I think they may have had this version.

To me it looks like the Arena Tour version just has that "arena tour exclusive" label on a sticker with the sticker chucked on it... And I suspect this third version is just the AE version without the sticker...

UK version

EB Games contest version

Arena Tour version

US event version (I don't remember which event)

Recalled Target Exclusive version

^ I think the US event one was for Gamescom or something

I dug up more info on the EB Games Dark Spyro. They gave one away for each store. The contest started on September 21st in 2012 and ended on October 16 the same year.

I know they also gave away Dark Spyro Single Packs at the EB Games Expo because one of the store workers at my EB Games got one from the Expo that year. I have no info on the specifics of how they were given away there, or how many were given away at the EB Expo. At the time I was collecting Single Packs and was only missing Dark Spyro and the worker offered to give me theirs if I didn't win the one from our store. However, since I DID win the one from my store, I never saw theirs so I have no idea if there's another special version from the Expo or something

Can I just say that the arena tour version is in fact the recalled target version with a sticker over the target logo, I know this as the one I've got the sticker isn't straight, showing the bottom corner of the target logo

So the EB version is unique? I wonder if there are any other single pack versions like that? I'm sure that the very first ones that popped up on eBay had the US/AU pegs, but I have no idea of how common they really are and I can't remember wether they had the blue label on the cardboard.

Back in the day I used to see loads with the us/au hook and the blue label so just assumed it finally got released over there

I suspected that was probably the case. I really would like to understand the mythology around the cancelled exclusive.

It is strange that they would make the general release exclusive over here, I know you guys get all the frito lay ones and all that sort of thing but DS was a standard figure, then saying that we never got series two drobot over here or the single pack of jet vac, so swings and roundabouts really
