To those that have received and passed the cards, Thank you. For those that wish to continue, the list as last updated will remain. I apologize for my absence. And sadly it will continue. Due to family issues I will not be able to devote the time needed to continue my task here as intended. I am sorry that I was not able to make this as successful as intended. Though by reaching the few that it did, i still see it as successful. Reaching one is better than none.

What happened to the other one? Someone got lazy and kept it?

I sent it a 2 weeks ago to broken leg ---maybe 1 and 1/2 weeks ago. I can get date if necessary.

I recommend we keep a centralized probation list that will disallow any future participation. Specifically we need to note name and address in case someone tries to be slick and re-register.

But outing out the offenders is a good preventive measure.

Problem is that who do you hold responsible? I sent original card to "x" and he reported receiving and mailing to "y" and "y" says he never received. So really you just don't know where the breakdown happens. Hopefully people will come through. I also think that if you have yourself on the list that you need to be available to promptly receive and mail card to next person. If you aren't going to be available you should notify person keeping list so you can be moved down. Just a thought.

how about the owner just ship it out to the next person then that person ships it back with a stamp included so the owner can ship to the next on the list then the owner ships to next person on the list then that person ships back to the owner with a stamp and so on and so on.

I didn't necessarily say post someone's information here. It's probably too much pain to do it anyway...just trying to solve the problem. We could just close down shop and stop doing it...I'm sure that would put the pressure where it belongs

Why are we creating two American lists if there is only 1 hat?

The second list is if we can find someone willing to donate their hat to the cause or after the first has run it's coarse.

I think we need to consider some new options here:

1. 2 hats for the US Tour. The US is a BIG country, and we've been having issues with shipping. It could be the weather, but it could also simply be distance. If we eliminate one problem, then we'll at least have less to worry about. That said, we would need a map of the US with the states shown along with their initials. It could be colored over for West side and East side respectively. Then, we can ask those on the list to state if they are from the states noted in the "West" side or the "East" side, without actually telling anyone their exact location. That way, at most, the distance would be halfway across the country, or at the least right next door.

2. Canada should probably be done the same way. It's a big country too, and there could also be considerations for language or policies for each area (they're "states" too right?).

3. Changing the way we deal with those who don't respond to the PMs when it's their time. I suggested this before, but I would like to know what everyone thinks of it. Set a certain time that the person must respond by, and if they don't, move on, but have their name placed at the end of the list. Also, if possible it would be nice to have people who are concerned about an event, illness or otherwise effecting whether they can respond within said timeline to tell the thread. For instance, that they'll be gone for ____ reason, or worry that they might not be able to come on, and voluntarily ask to be placed at the end. It would be a something of a courtesy, and I honestly don't think it would be too much to ask. Well, think about it.

4. Prompt messages for those who've received or sent a hat off. This is basically expected, actually. Unless you're away from home and can't get to your mail yet or any other reasonable excuse, you should be able to fulfill this.

5. Make sure those who've lost interest and/or have gotten the hat through other means have an easy way to be taken off the list if they wish to. If it means having someone PM a willing mod if the OP is away, that could help. We'd have to ask (politely) if they'd be fine with it, but if they were, then that's one less worry I hope?

6. Assign a deputy? Get someone who knows the OPs intent and can stay on more often if the OP might not be able to, to perform duties such as adding people, replying to PMs for cards offered to the cause, or anything that can help.

7. Very clear-cut info of what type of packaging we're dealing with mentioned in the first post, and what will protect the RFID best, in case someone must send off a new card, or a current card needs a new one.

All I can say is it hasn't reached my home yet ! I'm still waiting.. When and if I get it.. "I'm using a tracking number to verify it was delivered and received ! "..
