Best Buy Sprocket a ripoff? [CLOSED]

I just got my Best Buy Heavy Duty Sprocket and in game it says "Sprocket" not "Heavy Duty Sprocket". OK? The artwork above health guage shows her series 1 artwork not her series 2 artwork. Double OK? I got her Wow Pow and realised something.... She can't switch paths. I tried my regular Heavy Duty Sprocket. Works just fine, switches paths and all. Went back, rebooted the game and everything. Best Buy Sprocket cannot switch. Some Series 2 guys! Anyone else have this issue?

In my opinion, someone screwed up. If she is sold as "Heavy Duty Sprocket" with a paint change, she should've been also to switch paths. Giants didn't have this problem....did Swap Force engineers screw up here? I think so.

This is a problem with all Series 2 variants I believe

My Metallic Gill Grunt is the same

I get the feeling that "Special" and "Series 2" are both "modifier" tags, and the way they made the game a figure can have only one tag. Are there any figures that show up with multiple tags - example: "Special Series 3"?

Yes, that'd be the case with all the S2 Giants variants, and I guess Green Chop Chop and this Army Sprocket. I've only tested Metallic Gill Grunt and Army Sprocket, but I'm guessing its the same with all of them from Stone Zook to Amazon Flameslinger.

Though they can't switch paths at all, so yeah... Hard to test that. It seems this issue just makes it so the S2 Specials can't switch paths, everything else about them works properly. It could be that having both a Rare/Special and S2 tag stops it from working.

The in-game S2 variants (which show up as Special) can switch paths and all fine though, so this is probably an issue with the "Special" non-game rare variants tag + S2 tag in particular being on a figure rather than any S2 having any extra tag. Honestly, I'm not sure how they managed to make a mistake with this one simple thing, but you can bypass it by just path switching with the figure in Giants (...besides on Sprocket smilie) so as long as it's fixed in S4 I'd let it slide.

The codes in my metallic green gill grunt and silver sproket both have the correct codes I would expect for these figures.

I thought these were supposed to be somewhat hard to find? I just got back from buying a new DVD player and saw at least 4 of them.

No, it's a normal exclusive figure, albeit without the in-game color.

To clarify, the path switching problem is NOT due to wrongly-coded figures. It's because of some error the game itself is making when reading the figures, to put it in layman's terms.

Right, the game has mis-interpreted the information. Not critical, but still big and kinda "are you kidding me?"

I hear you Ghost Roaster. I definitely think and agree that Vicarious Visions bit off more than they could chew during the development of Swap Force. They still did a lot of great things and definitely did not ruin the franchise or anything close to that. But the gaffes and lack of careful proofreading and testing definitely does show through. I'd greatly prefer to see Skylanders back with Toys For Bob or another more accomplished studio.

Amazon Flameslinger can switch paths. (I own him)

Basically it's a series 1 sprocket with the wow-pow in this game.
