Expect these in us for (March/April?)

That's very interesting! But it's too early to tell if they'll come here. I'm not sure how McDonalds runs their International stores vs their Us stores when it comes to toys. For all we know, they could be only available overseas.

Figures would be cool. Not sure about sunglasses.

If they had figures AND the masks, it could be nice. Or an assortment of accessories. They could have the masks, a Portal Master Book that could hold Skylanders cards, Flynn's goggles, a little windup Groove Machine, Wash Buckler's Bubble Gun, and a couple of the actual hats.

The figures look to be the same ones they had last year in the US. I wouldn't think that they would have the same toys again. The glasses maybe, although they seem a bit goofy.

5 and 6 were part of the Kids Meal toys during Giants.

Yikes..did they not sell many of the last one? Does Activision want too high of an amount for license?

Out of anything they could have done for swap force, they chose glasses? No light up figures? No figures that could snap together and make swap force combinations?

That stinks, but there's bound to be other items.

I think they reduced the selection because they had to split it between boy-geared and girl-geared toys. Which is funny because if you think about it, kids tend to play with both. It's only when you specify the gender and make them feel they have to that they start taking sides. Otherwise, boys play with dolls as happily as girls do. So silly.

American McDonalds though, seems to have more toys in their lineup. Or maybe I'm just remembering wrong? Have they reduced recently?

Usually they have 8 boy toys and 8 girl toys

I'm no expert and don't really follow international McDonalds toys except for My Little Pony. But as far as MLP goes, Mexico did get a set of 4 light-up ponies that never came out for America. Everywhere else though got leftover US toys.
From what I've seen, Europe's toys seem to be only around 4 toys per series and mostly rehashed with original toys randomly thrown in too. It's kinda weird.
Japan gets entirely different stuff!

And I never liked the gender labeling on toys, especially when they give it to completely gender-neutral things like Build-a-bear or Adventure Time. But I do appreciate two promotions at once!

There are over 1200 McDonalds in the UK, hitch I would think is a lot for the size of the UK. It's not that McDonalds isn't there or popular. It's just that different countries operate differently. So they don't always get the same toys as the US. That's why we now have this foreign McDonalds ad promoting different toys, including toys we had last year in the US.

Nah we have a popular McDonalds but instead we get silly toys from movies I don't like. The only good ones were the How to train your dragon ones, and also I'd never be allowed to buy McDonalds toys from Ebay, never mind the actual Skylanders.

@obidawsn + LegendaryFlames I was mostly speaking tongue in cheek. It's interesting that there's so many McDonalds there though. You're right that they must be operating differently. It would be troublesome to try to coordinate everything from only one place to every store in the world after all.

Regarding the UK McDonalds - From what I understand, there's 'no call' for Skylanders. Or even MLP for that matter. Or so they say...

Anyway, these sunglasses are already out in France. There's 4 of them in the set. Spyro, Magna Charge, Wash Buckler and Jet Vac.

Well you see people have different amounts of money.
I go to McDonalds every few months not every week or so.
I don't have the money for that and the nearest McDonalds is a car drive away.

Also just for future references if no one was aware, most stores you can purchase the toy separately from the meal. Generally it's anywhere from 50 cents to a whopping $1.80 by itself, but at least you don't have to eat the food lol.

The best thing to do is to go in as well, unless you'd like to be treated to employee's hilarious pronunciations of names. Going in is good too because sometimes they'll even let you look in the boxes/bin if they're not too busy/you're nice to them.

That being said, I have to wonder when they might fit this in. We got the Giants things in April. Next month, they've got The Lego Movie toys. From looking at the movie release schedule, I would wager they'll have Mr. Peabody & Sherman toys in first half of March, with second half going to Muppets. April I feel is too locked up; I'd guarantee there's gonna be Rio 2 toys, and maybe Marvel will strike up a Captain America deal with McD.

Perhaps we'll see these sometime in the summer? Or...I mean, maybe we won't see them at all. Back when Ben 10 was a huge money maker, they had toys in foreign countries but we never saw them come over here for some bizarre reason.

^There won't be Muppet toys, Disney no longer associates with "fast food" but they have cool Disney bags at Subway! Also no Captain America for the same reason.

I know McDs used to be the place for Disney merchandising (and Marvel), but Disney decided they didn't want to be affiliated with an unhealthy food chain, so they went to Subway (meaning all you'll ever get is a stupid bag, and not even that if your kids don't like sub sandwiches, which is the case with mine). Which Ben 10 toys are you talking about? We had Ben 10 toys in the US. They weren't great, but they were something. I remember trying to collect them, but didn't get them all. Sometimes I wonder if they even get all the toys in. We had all the Skylanders except Kaos. We kept going all the time (at least once or twice a week) and they never got him.

If this promo ends up to the US and you don't want to eat a bunch of fast food, go into the store and ask for a "customer satisfaction box" which is a full set of the current Happy Meal toys. Typically only corporate stores will get these in but it'll save you from running around looking to collect them all.

That's the first I have heard of this. Since they usually send the in waves, how does that work? Or are they prepackaged already? Although I don't know of any corporate stores in our area. I'm pretty sure they are all franchises. Are there really that many corporate stores and how can you tell?

Ooh snap I didn't realize they had but yeah now that I think of it, they DID stop having them at McD.

I see now that there was a set, must have come in under the radar for me haha. I believe there was a couple of other ones though that we didn't get.

As for the other thing, a customer satisfaction box is like a giant box that has extras of all the toys, usually enough to have a few sets. Most stores get them early in the promotion, and I was under the impression ALL McDs got them. From a blog I just found:

A Customer Satisfaction Box is a box that simply contains complete sets of all the toys in a Happy Meal promotion. It usually has anywhere between two to six complete sets along with extras of the most popular toys. It is meant to be used to satisfy customer requests, but not all stores use it that way. The reason you need to go early in the promotion is because each store only gets ONE box per line of toys, and if someone gets there before you, they may all be gone.

Guys, Aprils our best bet. It was the month last year plus there is no kids movie coming out that month. But man, I am diggin' the glasses! I may be able to get the complete set this time!
