So my school is getting an IB program next year. I'm only a junior, so I won't be able to get the full diploma (two years of it are required), but I can still get a certificate. I'm really looking forward to it and all my teachers think I should do it. It's very challenging, but that's just the way I like it.

If you don't know what IB is, don't post. If you do know and you are/were in it, then can you tell me what it was like for you?

It was horrible. I came in with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I'd break my legs, and every afternoon I would break my arms. At night I lied awake in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep.

Yes. They're for students who march to their own drums, think outside of the box, and aren't afraid of new ideas. Which gives me the idea that a lot of you guys here on dS would be suited to them.....But you also have to be willing to work your ass off, and then I remember how lazy you all are, so......

- No more Xbox/PS/Whatever.
- No more social life.
- No more Internet, except for research (which will take up even more time than dS).
- Spending 3-4+ hours a day outside of class on work.
- Long term projects that you must NOT procrastinate on.

But, look at the other side:

- Your mind will constantly evolve.
- You will constantly surprise and impress yourself.
- Colleges and universities will drool over you.
- Your parents will constantly brag about you to their friends, who will be jealous that their child isn't doing it.
- The overall experience of studying in a way that so involves the world around you and the mind within you, combined with the extreme academic rigor, is ultimately enriching. It makes a true adult out of you, so to speak. A wise one at that.

I do all of those things. History Fair is agonizing, but I bet people will like my Medusa statuette (made it myself.)
We have a history Fair every May. And I work 4-5 hours on Research and Statuette making. Afterwards I get on Darkspyro.

The high school I'm going to in a few years may have it by the time I go there. I really want to be in those classes. I love school and schoolwork, especially activities and projects. I get A's on everything. I may not seem smart on here, but that's because I lack what you'd call "street smarts". I'm "book smart", though. I even won a scholarship in 5th grade. The writing question for 5th graders was hard. I won against a sixth grader, and the 6th grade questions were much easier. So, call me a nerd, I don't care. I love to read, I love books (I'm on an 8th grade level, because I'm good at reading and read at least one hour each day), I love school, and I thrive to get great grades. Whenever my grade breaks up for Power Hour (more like Power 45), I've always been in the advanced group. So, a few other kids in the advanced group and I have a good shot at gfretting into that program if it's at the high school in three years.

- That's probably the worst of the five.
