Yeah, it seems that way. You have to click on the "get started" link in the email. Then after you add it to cart and enter your shipping info as if you were making a regular purchase. At the bottom of the payment screen is a field to enter the promo code, which makes the Gill Grunt and standard shipping totally free. And that completes the order too, without needing to put credit card info in.

So it seems like you can just buy it outright off of the website like people have been doing, but putting in your promo code makes it free.

So, this probably means the figures wont be in store then? Or maybe a limited time release online only?

Mostly, I'm worried because at least going to the store I can pick out the figure. From TRU shipping it, it's gonna probably come in a bubble envelope meaning that it's gonna arrive crushed like every other skylander I've ordered from TRU.

I'm actually surprised they're doing it online this time instead of printing out a ticket and using it in store. This'd explain why no one at the stores has any idea what we're calling about lol.

I can't remember the shipping being that high before. Maybe the extra few bucks will make them put it into a box. Pls tru don't mess this up.

In checking one of the other threads, the e-mail reads recent purchases not last. Recent is a relative term that in this case I am guessing refers to the time period between launch day and December 31. I have yet to receive my e-mail and I spent multiple hundreds of dollars at Toys R Us on Swap Force. I have checked my Spam folder and I always get e-mails from Toys R Us. I am hoping they are just sending the e-mails out in waves. I am guessing that they decided to do this promotion via on-line sale because it might have been a little tricky to do in stores. I purchased Skylanders from three different locations. I could conceivably go to any of these or another store. In this case, some stores would run out and others would have a surplus. Logistically, ordering them on-line makes more sense. I am disappointed, though, because they should have sent an e-mail explaining the change. My son has been expecting to have Gill Grunt by tomorrow.

Just got off the phone again with Toys R Us Rewards customer support. The agent sounded utterly pissed off to be fielding calls about this promotion. Sounds to me like the customer support staff was caught off-guard by this today .... which is beyond stupid, since the promotion began back in October ... and they're getting a deluge of concerned callers.

Basically, I was informed that the voucher emails are being sent out periodically throughout the day today, up until 11:59 PM Eastern ... and customer service agents aren't authorized to do anything with regard to this promotion until after 11:59 PM passes. The customer service agent then made a point of emphasis that supplies will be limited and the promotion "expires" when the supply is exhausted. I told the customer service rep that it's not cool to send out the emails in a staggered way when supplies are limited. She basically said there's nothing she can do about that.

My guess is that these emails are being sent out either alphabetically by last name, or in a randomized order. They are definitely not being sent out by order of when the customer qualified for the promotion, because I qualified on the very first day of the promotion.

To those that have already received this email voucher today ... what letter does your last name begin with?
And, also if you haven't received the email voucher (like me) ... what letter does your last name begin with? Mine begins with "V".

Well, for what's it's worth, I just got off the phone with a different department within TRU's customer service, and the surprisingly nice woman informed me that the emails are being sent out in "waves", through Saturday, and that they are being sent alphabetically. She also said TRU's stock of the Special Gill Grunt is approximately 80,000 units currently, and they anticipate that approximately 42,000 Rewards customers qualified for the promotion.

She might have been pulling this info out of her behind ... I don't know. Just sharing what I was told.

Well you don't have to worry about your store not having them because it's apparently delivered free. I'm a little relieved because I probably couldn't make it for a couple if days. I already bought one and got my voucher and put that in this morning. Also my email starts with "K". It could also be sent out by numerical order from the Rewards R Us member number. Or maybe completely random. Let's wait till tomorrow night then everyone panic. It if you want one order one before they take it down.

FWIW: My last name begins with D and my first name with W and my email also with a W. I qualified for the voucher on the evening of 10/13 (and multiple other times before the end of October). Still no email here, but I'm happy waiting until after 9:00 Easten time before calling.

I was informed that any purchased that was made the release night would not qualify towards the $100 since for 2 reasons. First all transactions on release night was on the 12th and contest started on the 13th. Second the reason for that happening was that they knew every rewards member was going to possibly spend over the $100 and qualify immediately. This is why it started on the 13th this came straight from a supervisor at rewards r us CS. So go add up your dollar amount from oct.13th-Dec.31st not counting anything on the 12th release night.

I don't think people should over-react, however this promotion does not last that long (only until 1/31) so if you do not receive the coupon email by the end of tomorrow night (which is what they told people would be when all were sent out, and the original terms said it would be sent) I would definitely get on top of this and give them a call. You have a limited amount of time to get a correct made and a coupon email sent to you. Don't sit on your hands until the very end, hoping it resolves itself. It sounds like they have a ton of them, but a free figure is a free figure and they owe it to the customers that fulfilled their criteria.

That said, I got mine mid-day on my Reward Zone, but I also made the limit (post release night, when Wave 2 came out) on my wife's Reward Zone on her email (a different account) so she should be due one as well and she has not gotten the email yet.

First name starts with R, last name L. No email yet. I will be very upset if I'm not able to get a figure because I have no gill grunt and my son recently decided he loves that fish. I guess I'll be calling monday if I don't have an email by then, if they've sold out I'll be highly upset.

Not sure if this put things in perspective:
I got mine at 9am and my last name starts with an "E". (First Name = D)
My Mother-In-Law got hers at 5pm and her last name starts with a "K" (First Name = B.)
We both bought well over $100 each on D-Day.

This.

I spent over $500 release day. Even if that doesn't count, I still spent over $250 on Skylanders according to the rewards site during the promotional period.

I haven't got my voucher yet. I won't be calling until tomorrow. Because I'm calm, cool, and collected... and that's the details of the promo. smilie

As for what order they're sending them out... Could be by name, phone number, e-mail address, date of qualification, rewards membership number, customer loyalty rank or any other random thing or combination of these things.

Mine was only email, but then again I checked the Rewards R Us website after I used the voucher so I don't know if it disappeared or something after I used it lol
