Sakurai has said he is open to DLC, but there are currently no plans, as he wants the base game to be as complete a package as possible. He did give a particular shoutout to the DLC from the Fallout games, though, citing them as good examples of how to to DLC right.

He did say that there will almost certainly be patches though, for character re-balancing and what not.

Waluigi doesn't really deserve a place IMO. Firstly, we have enough Mario reps. Secondly, while I don't count Wario as a Mario rep, Waluigi will not be playable without Wario anyway. After all, Waluigi was only ever designed because Wario needed a partner in Mario Tennis. That's why Waluigi only ever appears in the Mario spin offs, and never in the main series. People may make the same argument for Wario, as he has never appeared in a main series game either (Super Mario 64 DS and Super Mario Land 2 don't count), but Wario has his own series of platformers, AND his own mini-game collection, and those games feel very different to the Mario equivalents.

Well, the first thing they should do is make Waluigi a game! then it might be worth it to put him in SSB4.

This is why I said he needs to be fleshed out more. Or a Super Wario Land with Waluigi in it.

Well the last studio to make a Wario Land game was Good Feel, but they're (maybe?) working on Yarn Yoshi, so that's out. Maybe let Intelligent Systems try it? They've handled most of the WarioWare stuff, so they're familiar with the IP. Alternatively, Next Level Games. They did a great job with Luigi's Mansion 2, they seem to like Waluigi (if Mario Strikers Charged is any indication), and to top it all off, they've signed a 2nd party deal with Nintendo. <.<;

You guys do realise those are all the Japanese names for the characters, right?

I mean yeah, the image is fake, but the Japanese names are not the proof. It's likely the current build of the game has mostly Japanese text, and most certainly has the Japanese terminology in place, so that wasn't a screw up, that was part of making the image more authentic.

Guys, that TAMBLR that Sleeps posted had information that differed throughout the posts. But nearly every one had Lil Mac, Mii, and Pac Man included.
Not saying that they are included, not saying that they won't be included, just noting it.

There was a a guy who claimed to have inside information before the E3 reveal, and he predicted that Mega Man, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Mii, Lil Mac, and Pac Man would make the roster. Obviously, the first 3 were correct. This same guy is claiming that one of the latter 3 will be revealed next week.

Just in case you guys weren't aware, next Monday marks the 15th anniversary of the Super Smash Bros franchise. This is considered a significant milestone, and with a new game coming later this year, and a new Nintendo Direct likely being aired next week, everyone is expecting some kind of significant Smash news.
