WHY?????
My Wishin Well won't reset to the new Alter Ego. He shows as being available for a spin, and to buy, but not in the well - the well still shows last month's "owned" item, with a timer of 30 days.
I've tried 3G and by using my phone as a wireless hotspot - I can't get wi-fi any other way at home. It's bloomin' annoying!
Did anyone else have problems with getting the well to reset over 3G?
And it is 6pm, 1st Jan, so it should have ticked over by now.

I have the same problem

I tried everything i could think of to reset the wishing well. Nothing still showing last item owned.

Been playing for over a year and cettainly since wishing well started in feb and never ever had this problem before.

Mighty upset as i have every alter ego

I had won New YEar Countdown last night before I went to bed. Apparently, it did not save as I lost all my progress. Back to the wishin well.

Yeah I had been wondering if this was something they were going to fix but they didn't. This is a time travel issue because my daughter who just got an iPad mini for Christmas started playing and she had no problems getting him in the well.

I guess this would be one way to make sure people don't time travel. Oh and the element of the day is still broken, that is annoying as he'll as well.

Activision is clearly messing with various game aspects with some goal in mind. It appears they are trying to limit TT by adding phone home code.

The problem is they are botching execution. The personal offers led to abuse, they broke element of the day and there are wishing well problems. My wishing well reset on Dec 30. Others are not reseting.

The irony of all of this is the broken EotD. Shrines on sale plus the constant welcome messages telling players about the EotD and using shrines to get stones surely are confusing players. Its all very unimpressive. I wonder home many new players quit?

Definitely a challenge to new players. Confusing messages and no EoD means change of strategy to compensate I guess. Timing was very unfortunate imo - holiday break is when I have more time . . .

I didn't buy any shrines when they were on sale due to the fact that I don't know what they are doing. Hopefully they will make it right in the end.

my friend would use tt to get the eotd working again because it would always break when the game launches with the loading screen. he's not too happy that his well is broken because of it

Of the 5 accounts I have personal knowledge of here is their status:

All still do not have eotd.

3 have tt.

All have active wells, 3 got the alt New Years Day the others do not have the stones thanks to the eotd glitch.

It's always sad to hear that someone doesn't have the stones to achieve something...

The situation certainly isn't ideal, but hopefully it will all work out. Activision knows there is an issue and says they are working on it. It's only the 2nd, so there are still many days left to win New Years Countdown.

Hopefully the eotd glitch will be fixed soon and everyone will be able to win him before the month is out!

I know of three accounts... mine, my son's, my dad's. None of us time travel. All three of our wells updated and we got NYC. Neither my dad nor I have functioning eotd. My son still does, somehow. And if he looks at Hugo and puts a skylander of the next day's element into the molekin market, he gets 100+ gems every time. He's been cleaning up on that.

Funny you should mention the personal offers. As of tonight, I have them again. One is for half off radiant energy fields and the other is for half off Jade Fire Kraken.

Me too. Got one for 25% off a giant house I already own.

If the pattern is TT, then I would say it would have to do with those who TT'd to the 1st before the NY Countdown was in the well and checked their well. If you did that before, it re-activated the well (similar to last month's glitch), but that prize stayed in the well. Last month you could keep jumping back and forth to change what was in the well, but this time you couldn't. It seems like the fix they put in to keep us from going back and forth and getting different Grand prizes has also kept the well from adding the new alter ego when it's added.

So the new question is am I waiting for an update and hoping well resets or am I TT a bunch of times and collecting 1500 gems to buy him?

I'd say what's the hurry? We have the rest of the month to see. I don't see spending 1500 gems to buy any Skylander, even alter egos. For me, I'd rather take the chance to win him later on when they add alter egos in the well. The well isn't completely broken. It will still give you top prizes. I'd say even if they don't do anything to give us NY Countdown, then the well will be reset on Feb. 1 for next month's alter ego. I'd almost be tempted to TT to find out if it fixes our current problem, but don't want to take the chance, especially when I have a couple of timed quests I have pending to finish. If, at the end of the month, you feel the need to buy him at 1500 gems and they still haven't fixed the well, then go ahead. But I wouldn't buy him, now.

This is why I frown on all the TT talk. Now we have an alter ego issue and people are blaming TT. It certainly is not hitting everyone who has TT. Thus, They might be right, they might not.

The same patch also broke the element of the day. Truthfully, nearly every patch by the devs adds some nasty bug. So while the Devs have a long track record of botched updates, there is an urge to blame TT. Is that fair?

This is why I TTed about four days before New Year's and got the alt early. I nabbed him BEFORE the devs had a chance to screw it up, or decide to double the price, or decide that you should throw gems into the wishing well instead of stones. It's simple damage limitation.

I am waiting for the devs to fix it. They will have to otherwise the broken people will never get another wishing well alt, ever. So it has to be fixed.

I suspect TT was involved but not having been a heavy TT'er in the past (i fly to other countries so i have to tt to some degree) I am agree with Charred. It might not be tt and the devs have to be careful how they fix it or legitmate time travel around the planet will cause people like me to be penalised unfairly.

Somehow they need to limit tt to 24-36hrs(yes it takes more than 24 h to get from oz to east coast usa) forward or backward and fliers would still be happy and they could reduce tt abuse.

Meantime, i wait. I have confidence it will be ok.

Jumping ahead 4 days before Jan 1 made no difference. He devs didn't break it since then. It was already "broken". They haven't even done a real update in 2 weeks.

As for TT bring the cause of everything being broken, it's only been a main argument with the well. It was mentioned with all the corrupt saves (which was a vital point), but there were enough people who used TT and didn't have a problem and enough people who had the problem without using TT. With the well, though, it makes complete sense that it was TT that broke it. They wanted to fix the glitch from last month, so they coded the well to not change the grand prize once someone reached the 1st of the month and received a grand prize. Last month, every time we would jump back and forth, it would change what was in the well. This time, when you jumped ahead, whatever popped in the well stayed no matter what you did, even if you threw in enough stones to win the prize. The only way I got my initial offer of Roller Brawl out of the well was because my son got her as an early Christmas present so I entered the code. So it replaced her with Rip Tide. So now the well thinks that I've already won the prize for January. That looks like how it's coded. So now it won't reset because it thinks I've already won the grand prize. For those that didn't win what was in the well, it still thinks that the prize it shows is the grand prize for January. So now it's stuck. The devs don't have to so a thing about it. Once February hits, the well will look for a new prize. Whether that be whatever pops up if we jump ahead, now, or the new alter ego when it's loaded in the game. Unless someone who used TT to Jan 1 or beyond before the alter ego was programmed and still was able to get NY Countdown in the well or someone who doesn't use TT that had a broken well, I day that is the best theory we have. I like to think that the devs would fix it and give us a chance, but if it was caused by us jumping ahead to catch a glitch them they don't really have to.

Just wanting to know if anyone whose well didn't reset has gotten fixed? I haven't heard anything from them via twitter.

There hasn't been an update so nothing has been fixed.

Nothing to see here! Figure I'll wait until the next update and if the well isn't fixed, I'll just buy NYC with gems. It goes against my principles, but desperate times...

I figure that if they don't fix it, the well will reset itself, anyway, come Feb. 1 (if my theory on why it's broken is correct, which is the most solid theory we have, then it will reset on Feb. 1). Eventually, they'll have the past alter egos in the well, again. So I'll just wait until then before spending 1500 gems on a Skylander. That's true about the house, I guess. They have put out some decent rewards for having the house and the alter ego, lately. Although I'm not sure it's worth 1500 + the cost of the house, unless it was a truly awesome prize. Even at 50% off (1500 gems), I was debating on pulling the trigger on Fiznik to get the free Dragon's Lair. But I went ahead and did it because I figured that was the best deal we'll ever get for him. He may be 50% off, again, down the road, but not with a free Dragon's Lair. But spending 1850 gems (I believe would be the cost), it would have to be a truly amazing prize (more than a shrine or B.
