It was extremely before it's time and one of my favorite consoles ever. If you aren't familiar with it, it was released in October 1999 and cancelled in March 2001. It was made by Sega, and was the last system they created before developing games for their rivals. It sold 10.6 million units (on track to be better than the Wii U in sales) before the last of the stock ran empty. It had unique and large collection of quality games, which was unusual for it's short lifespan. The controller had a small screen for extra input (Sega does what Nintendidn't) and the traditional controller layout. The system fully supported online, being the first video game console to do so, and heavily promoted it's great online capabilities. It had online play, an internet browser, and downloadable content (first system to have all three). I strongly recommend getting it if you ever happen upon it. Some excellent games include: Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, Seaman, Chu Chu Rockets!, Sonic Adventure 2, House Of The Dead, Marvel vs. Capcom, and Ooga Booga, among many others. It lasted for 5 more years in Japan, so it had 500 Japanese exclusive titles.

I remember owning my first two games on that platform which were Sonic Adventure and Echo: Defender of the Future. I cried during my Ecco game because whenever I went up to the surface for air and jumped around, I thought the graphics were so beautiful. xD; I could hardly play SA because it always screwed up before it even began. @.@;; We went to a K-Mart once to get a new one, but the same thing happened... SA2 played so much better.
