I heard it comes from the term Fake Shemp.

That must be why you have to flame Dr. Shemp's back in order to defeat him. Although, it still doesn't explain why it's a recurring term in the Spyro trilogy.

The mini games had a lot of parodies of current trends (at least in Spyro 3; Doom, Tomb Raider, racing games, etc.). But I never liked Tony Hawk as a person so I didn't play his games back in the day (or ever). XD --- Sunny Flight, a Spyro charity zine!
