IN-DEPTH:

1. IV Breeding / Breeding In General
We will start off with the basics of breeding, your parents must meet three criteria in order to produce an egg. First, they have to be in the same Egg Group. Pokemon such as Skrelp can breed with Horsea, as they are both n Water 1, but cannot breed with something such as Drapion, as it is in the Water 3 group. Do not get type confused with Breeding Groups. Second, they must be opposite genders. A Male Skrelp + Female Skrelp must be used in order to produce an egg, a Male Skrelp + Male Skrelp or a Female Skrelp + Female Skrelp will never produce an egg. Third, they must not be baby Pokemon. Babies such as Togepi and Riolu must evolve into Togetic / Togekiss or Lucario respectively, in order to breed. The eggs of every pokemon are determined by the Female. A Female Skrelp + Male Horsea will always result in a Skrelp, whereas a Female Horsea + Male Skrelp will always resuslt in a Horsea. Some Pokemon, such as Chespin, have 87.5% Male and 12.5% Female ratios, so you may have to breed with Ditto until you get a Female Chespin to effectively produce Egg Moves. The Day Care Man has the chance to give you an egg every Cycle, every 255 Steps, chances are determined by the Individual Pokemon and what the man will say: Same ID / Same Species = "The two seem to get along.", has a 50% chance to produce an egg per cycle. Same ID / Different Species = "The two don't seem to like each other.", has a 20% chance of producing an egg per cycle. Different ID / Different Pokemon = "The two seem to get along.", has a 50% chance of producing an egg per cycle. Different ID / Same Species = "The two seem to get along very well.", has a 70% chance of producing an egg per cycle. Legendaries will never produce an egg, even if they have genders. The exception to this rule is Manaphy, which can only breed with Ditto to produce a Phione. If the Day Care Man says "The two prefer to play with other Pokemon.", you've done something wrong, check to make sure they meet the three criteria above and try again, if he says this you've got 0% chance of producing an egg. Now that we've learned how to breed, let's get more in-depth about Breeding.

Natures are also a huge part of breeding. Passing down the right nature is essential, example is Quiet on Skrelp. Obtain a Pokemon with the nature you prefer, obtaining them is easier if you have a Pokemon with Synchronize in the first spot of your party. Having a Modest Synchronize Ralts will give you a high chance of your wild Pokemon you find also having a Modest nature, it is NOT guranteed however. Once you have these, acquire the Everstone. The Everstone gives you a 100% chance of passing down a given Nature. A Female Modest Skrelp holding an Everstone will always produce a baby Skrelp that is Modest nature. This item can be used in conjuction with Destiny Knot, and is preferred to get the nature before you begin to IV Breed. Natures give a +10% boost to one stat, while decreasing another stat by 10%. A Modest Skrelp will have a +10% boost to it's Special Attack stat, while having a 10% decrease to it's Attack Stat.

Egg Moves are obtained from other Pokemon of the same Egg Group, such as Skrelp obtaining Toxic Spikes from Omanyte. The Male Pokemon, in this case Omanyte, must have Toxic Spikes, and the baby Skrelp will hatch with Toxic Spikes. Just because a Pokemon is in the same group as another does not mean they can pass down every move. For example Skrelp is in the same Egg Group as Clamperl, which has access to Shell Smash, but breeding a Shell Smash Clamperl and a Skrelp will just produce a Skrelp with no Shell Smash. Even then, some logical things such as Shell Smash Blastoise don't exist, this is a rare instance, but think ahead if the move would make sense. Skrelp with Shell Smash makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

This Generation, Males can now pass down Hidden Abilities, but only if bred with Ditto. Even then the baby only has a ~60% chance of passing downt he HA. Female Pokemon have a ~60% chance to pass it down when breeding with other Pokemon. Regular Abilities have ~80% chance of being Passed Down. HA Male Skrelp + RA Female Skrelp have a 0% chance of producing a HA Skrelp Baby. RA Male Skrelp + HA Female Skrelp has a 60% chance to pass down the HA. A HA Skrelp + Ditto has a 60% chance of passing down the HA however. In case anybody was confused, HA = Hidden Ability and RA = Regular Ability. By the way, HA Skrelp isn't released yet in-case you were wondering. Hidden Abilities can be found in Horde Battles or in the Friend Safari.

IVs are a Pokemon's Individual Values and range anywhere from 0-31. They are not visible, to see which stat is your highest, fly to Kiloude City and go to the guy by the Changing Area in the PokeCenter. This guy will tell you which stat is the highest, here is a list of what he will say to you depending on the stat:

"It's rather decent in that regard."
The IV of this stat's range is 0 - 15
"It's very good in that regard."
The IVs of this stat's range is 16 - 25
"It's fantastic in that regard."
The IVs of this stat's range is 26 - 30
"Stats like those ... they simply can't be beat!
The IV of this stat is 31, aim to get this.

You must use a Destiny Knot for a chance to pass down 5 out of the 6 IV stats, versus just being random. Power Items such as Power Bracelet and Power Anklet will guarantee the parent passes down that IV. Note that Power Items take priority over Destiny Knot, so only use on or the other. If none are held three are passed down while the rest are randomly generated. The entire process should look like this:

Ditto [HP / Attack] (Destiny Knot)
Honedge [Defense / Special Defense] (Everstone)
*Breeding*
Honedge [HP / Attack / Special Defense / Defense] (Everstone)
New Ditto [Speed / Random 31 IV] (Destiny Knot)
Breed until you get a perfect Honedge that looks like 31 / 31 / 31 / x / 31 / 31

This is purely an example, eventually you should replace Ditto with a better baby. Keep replacing the Parents with better babies for a higher chance of getting quint-flawless babies. Getting a perfectly flawless Pokemon with 31 IVs in a stat is VERY rare, so expect to just have 5 at most most of the time.

2. Shiny Pokemon:

Masuda Method:

Masuda Method is breeding Foreign Pokemon together. It increases the normal odds of 1/8192 to 5/8192 or about 1/1638, which might not seem like a huge difference, but it really is. For example, breeding American Skrelp + American Skrelp = 1/8192 chance of hatching a Shiny, while breeding Japanese Skrelp + American Skrelp = 5/8192 chance of hatching a Shiny. In-Game trades do not work with Masuda Method. The prime Pokemon for Masuda Method is Ditto, thanks to it's ability to breed with all non-legendaries. It is essentially giving you 5/8129 to all of your Pokemon that you breed as long as it is Foreign.

Fish Chaining:

A new method introduced this generation to help you find shinies is fish chaining! It is very simple to do, you must follow these simple steps:

1.) Find a Spot where you'd like to fish.
2.) De-mount from your skates.
3.) Fish there until you find a shiny, each time you reel something in the odds are increased.

Some things break your chain such as:

• Reeling it in too slow / fast.
• Moving from your spot.
• Not reeling anything in.

To help you, use a Suction Cups Pokemon as your lead, as it will increase the odds of reeling in a Pokemon. Catching or running away from the Pokemon will not break your chain.

PokeRadar Chaining (not wrote by me) :

To get the Pokéradar, you must beat the Elite 4. It can then be obtained on Floor 2 of Professor Sycamore's lab, when you talk to the man messing with the machine with floating Pokéballs. He will also tell you what the day's "target" Pokémon is.

In order to use the Pokéradar, you must be on foot, not on skates or a bicycle. To do this, make sure you are not on the bicycle then simply press any direction on the D-Pad. Using the Circle Pad automatically makes you move with the skates, while the D-Pad automatically makes you walk, unless you are on the bicycle.

Very basic rules no matter what you do not break.
1) DO NOT EVER enter a patch of grass that is barely shaking. It is a decoy patch and doesn't contain a Pokémon.
2) Once your chain is started, DO NOT step in the patch of grass directly above you unless you clearly see a sparkle come from it. It is hidden by your head and difficult to see whether or not it was shaking.
3) Once your chain is started, DO NOT equip your skates or bicycle. This breaks your chain.
4) Once your chain is started, DO NOT walk so far that all the shaking patches go offscreen. This breaks your chain.
5) Once your chain is started, always try to step in a patch of grass that shakes in the same way as the one you previously stepped in. If you step in a patch that shakes in a different way and it does not break your chain, start stepping in patches that shake in that new way, not the previous way.
6) Once your chain is started, DO NOT run away from a battle. This breaks your chain. Capture or faint the Pokémon.

Other than these, you SHOULD NOT go into any patches of grass that are at the edge or corner of where the grass ends (the grass turns into a path/wall/cliff/etc.), as this greatly lowers your odd's of continuing your chain.
You should also not walk into any patch of grass that has another shaking patch of grass adjacent to it. This also lowers your chances of continuing your chain.

What you want to do is ideally find a 9x9 area of grass that you can stand in the middle of.

X 4 4 4 X 4 4 4 X
4 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 4
4 3 2 2 2 2 2 3 4
4 3 2 1 1 1 2 3 4
X 3 2 1 0 1 2 3 X
4 3 2 1 1 1 2 3 4
4 3 2 2 2 2 2 3 4
4 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 4
X 4 4 4 X 4 4 4 X

In this chart, 0 is where the player stands. You never want to step into a shaking "X" patch of grass because it is highly likely to break your chain. You want to avoid stepping in any patch of grass that is NOT a "4" patch of grass because the lower the number, the higher the chance of breaking your chain. If you dont get any "4" patches of grass, you should walk a short distance repeatedly until your radar is recharged, step back in the middle of the 9x9 patch of grass and use your radar again. This will give you new shaking patches without resetting your chain. Ideally, you never want to step into a patch of grass that is not a "4" patch. If you dont have one just reset. Once you have started a chain, you do not need to continue using the Pokéradar to continue the chain, grass will shake after you faint or capture the Pokémon that appears, but it is suggested that you use the Pokéradar again if you don't get any good shaking patches.

You can increase your chances of finding certain Pokémon by having Pokémon with certain abilities at the front of your party. Static increases the chance of finding an Electric type Pokémon. Magnet Pull increases the chance of finding a Steel type Pokémon.

Once you reach a chain of 40, your chances of finding a shiny patch stops increasing, so to keep from breaking the chain it is best at that point to stop stepping in any shaking patches. Just keep resetting the shaking patches until you see a shiny patch.

The rest of it is basically up to luck and patience. It will likely take you several days to reach a chain of 40. If you arent patient, you wont be able to do it. And no matter how cautious you are, your chain will eventually break.

3. EV Training:

EV Training is so much easier this generation. You have two methods, first you can Super Train. It starts out at +4, then grows to +8, then finally +12 EVs as you progress through Super Training. You also get Bags that give you certain EVs, S Bags will add +1, M Bags will add +4, and L Bags will add +12 EVs to whatever stat it says. You can also find a Reset Bag, which will reset your EVs in case you did it wrong, by punching the gray bag with no bag inserted. The Second way is through Horde Battles, here is the list of where to horde battle EV Train:

4. Maximum Affection in Pokemon-Amie:

Affection adds a boost to EXP, a chance to dodge moves, and a higher Critical Hit Ratio. To get it up very fast follow these very simple steps:

1.) Play Head It Twice.
2.) Pet until it stops giving out hearts (will give out one note).
3.) Feed it until it is full.
4.) Repeat steps 1-3.

Pretty soon your Pokemon will love you!

5. Leveling Up To Level 100 Fast:

Also, turn off your Internet, you might receive an O-Power which requires you to press A and interrupts you.

6. Max Style In Lumiose City Fast:

Go to the PokeBall Boutique and buy Premier Balls one-by-one. Keep buying until you've bought ~120 or so of them. To make sure it works, go to the Stone Emporium and the old guy in the back will sell you Mega Stones for the Kanto Starters for just 10,000 Coin. You can also dine at Sushi High Roller, but this is very strongly advised against.

7. Hatching Eggs Fast:

Fill up your team with a Flame Body user + 5 eggs and do Step 5. It should take like 3 Minutes per egg, so just make Popcorn or something and come back and check it. You have to watch it though, you cannot just leave it there, it is a waste if you do.

8. Farming Money / EXP:

Go to Cafe Le Wow, never go to Sushi High Roller. This place has level 63~ Pokemon, but it is worth it. It costs 90,000 Coin to dine there, but you earn around 80,00 from battling the four trainers (when holding an Amulet Coin, which you should be) and then you get Mushrooms that sell for roughly 5,500~ each. You can earn a Maximum of 25, which sells for 137500 Coin. You basically are earning 118400~ Coin each time. Plus, you gain a TON of experience from their Pokemon. Another place for this is the Battle Chateu - thanks DC!

9. Super sized Pumpkaboo

1) make sure your volume is turned on. I can confirm that Super sized Pumpkaboos has a slightly different cry than the other sizes
2) Make sure the 1st pokemon in your party has the ability Frisk. Super sized Pumpkaboos are always holding a miracle seed so having this ability will allow you to confirm that it is indeed super sized

Hope you enjoyed these Mini-Guides, I hope they helped you! This took me about two hours to write so I hope it was worth it smilie

For money, I tend to go to the Battle Chateau. Be sure to have the Amulet Coin.

Also, use the Prize Money O-Power, but only use it when battling the elderly NPC's. Oddly, the old people give more money, especially if they are of a higher title. With Amulet Coin, they'll give 8k or 10k per battle depending on their title rank. This will double if you have Prize Money lv 2 in play.

It depends, what are you breeding? What are the parents? The odds of getting a 31 IV in ANY stat is VERY slim unless the Parents have 31s. Try catching a breedable mon with Torchic in the Friend Safari, they're guranteed to have 2-3 31 IVs ^.^ Feel free to GB / PM me if you have further questions!

Yeah, for best results use 3 IV Pokemon such as this:

31 / 31 / x / x / 31 / x Torchic + 31 / x / x / 31 / 31 / x Torchic

Ya know, if you don't want the speed. But having all the stats covered increases your chance of 5 IV from 1/92 -> 1/ 36

It's not the speed I don't want, it's the sp. attack but I know what I'm doing now.

You get double the money if you use Psychic Pokèmon on Viola, which is way better than using Flying Pokèmon.
