I encountered some nurse sharks snorkeling down there. But I constantly was warned about sharks while I was there. <.<

Well, I wouldn't exactly call people dying a "stupid" reason.......But, can you tell me WHY killing the sharks will be bad?

Are you insane? People dieing isn't a good reason. If you are to swim in the ocean, learn shark safety. Besides the only human life I care about is my own.

But you're missing the point; killing sharks will be bad because sharks help to keep the fish and seal populations in control. Without sharks, they will overpopulate, and there will be competition among species, which will lead to ocean resources declining even further, affecting many economies and industries.

Another reason: many Lemon Sharks are indeginous to Australia, and Lemon Sharks are immune to cancer. They can grow from about 3-10 feet, and scientists are attempting to use their blood flying form a cure for cancer.

It's a logical course of action, but it won't erase the problem. They can't possibly eradicate all sharks that are of any danger to humans.

Besides, if you swim in shark-infested waters, maybe there might be a shark or two there. I dunno, just my guess.

But most shark species have been proven to not be hostile to humans.It is just humans happen to be there when they are hungry.

Heh, this reminds me of that time in the 1930's when the emus were over-breeding and they had to call in the Australian Army to kill them.
