Does TRU do a price drop refund? I bought a S1 Whirlwind a few days ago for full price. It'd be easier not to have to return/rebuy.

Interestingly enough, I can't find any of the SSA Adventure Packs online. What a bummer.

Actually yes if they do a price drop they will refund you the difference. Same thing happened when I got Dune Bug and Cynder before Christmas and then they had the B1 Get 1 40% off. Of course that is as long as it's a sale longer than a day.

There's tons of the Dragon's Peak/Pirate Seas/Empire of Ice in the stores that I've seen. TRU will price match their online site with zero hassle. Just gotta make the trip. Granted, very slim chance they'll have darklight crypt to jump on 2 BOGO's so you'd be kind of stuck there for a deal the third adventure pack you chose unless you decided to throw in a triple pack to get back to 4.

Ya, I've a bunch of stock in-store. But I read the Price Match policy, and it says, "We will match Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com online pricing in our stores, except for online-only prices," and that they won't match, "Buy One Get One with purchase offers."

It's online only? I didn't even know they did that. Jeez...That's annoying. Their stock of adventure packs is huge in every store I've gone to...and it's been like that for the entire Christmas season. Sorry man. It's freaking terrible going backwards for figures. The little one and I started with Giants and going backwards for SSA figures was a big, costly pain in the butt....and that's taking into consideration that we got about half of the SSA figures for $2.99 each during a Best Buy black friday deal. Darklight Crypt, even then, was something we ended up paying about $45 for on Amazon. Dino Rang we found in a Walgreens after searching like 10 of them. (Of course he got re-released to rub salt in that wound)...and don't even get me started on Boomer...LOL.

What's bad is that since they are all the same SKU in their system, they don't keep up with individual inventory to do in-store pickup. I hate the online only deals on SSA stuff because there are only a few that they even carry online and they don't do in-store pickup for them. The only ones they do in-store pickup are those that have separate SKUs (i.e. Legendary Trigger Happy and now Dino Rang). Too bad the website isn't matching the $5 price and B1G1. I'd be tempted to go ahead and pick up Legendary Trigger Happy (although I'm not sure what the other one would be, unless I get 2 of them). Shipping would kill the deal, but my store will let you order online from in-store and get free shipping. I've been reporting that to others but never heard if anyone else has had any luck with it. They also gave me a free shipping code the one time I tried it because the item I was looking for went out of stock by the time I got to the store. I'm not sure if that code still works. I'm sure it's one-time use, so I've been holding onto it for something that was online only I was wanting. I'd be tempted to pay the $5 for him, especially since I have a $5 rewards I need to use up, but I've never seen him at my store.

Yeah, brand new. But this was November/Early December 2012. I think most were going in the $50 range around then and I jumped on the cheaper $45 one after waiting a few days and keeping an eye on amazon. Funny thing is I was only buying it for the ghost roaster character...I had no clue what an adventure pack did. My little one has a thing for skeletons so he and chop chop were the "must haves" if we were gonna buy the game (two of the most frequent ones he'd always put on the portal during the year at the store display). Eye Brawl (and now Night Shift) were/are big hits too. Rattle Shake? Not so much and it shows from my kid's reaction to him. He doesn't look Undead. I still don't get it how he's from that element. He looks like an Earth to me.

Nice score from TRU. Are you going for all of the characters for each game, including reposes? Or just one of each specific character repose or not?

My original goal was:

SSA: One of each element, all Adventure Packs.
SG: All Giants
SSF: All Swappers, all Adventure Packs.

With the included figures in the 3 Starter Packs and SSA Adventure Packs, I only needed an Air Element -- which is why I bought Whirlwind the other day. So After purchasing Sheep Wreck Island, Thumpback, Swarm, and Hot Head, I only have the following remaining:

SSA: Darklight Crypt
SG: [Completed]
SSF: Doom Stone, Freeze Blade, Trap Shadow.

But I got way too excited with the $5 SSA figure sale. So now I guess I have an "extra credit" goal. All core figures, Series 1 only -- except Cynder and Stealth Elf, since they came with the Starter Packs -- no Lightcores, no Legendaries, no Variants. But I won't seek out these additional figures. I'll just buy them if I come across them, and they're on sale.

There are actually two sales going on right now. In stores, it's $5 each for the SA corelanders priced at $9.99 (according to the add). Online, it's B1B1 Free for the $9.99-$10.00 SAs. Slight difference. Not sure the reason other then the main purpose is to drive customers to the stores to buy the new SF characters at full price. They aren't available online yet.

I suggest you try really hard to get Swarm if you can, the reason is because a lot of us seem to think he will be the next boomer. He was a nice shelf warmer when there was no Giants around (Just like Boomer during SSA). I have seen a few this month but he is getting harder to find as of late.

Ugh, annoyed at your store for having so much SSA stock, Donatron.

Went to two stores last night and no SSA Hex could be found anywhere.

Did at least take advantage of the sale to pickup our first Drobot, Double Trouble, and Ignitor.

Hmmm...Older individual core characters are typically sold for $2.99 at BJ's. However, SSA characters might be rare in that department. I think I only have seen Giants core at my local one for that price-mainly ignitor/chill/zook/fright rider that I can think of off the top of my head. Granted, it's a madhouse cuz they just throw them on the shelf all loose and you have to bob and weave and sift through everything. Well, no SSA there except for that "mega pack" that has the SSA starter pack, pirate seas adventure pack and the eruptor/chop chop/bash 3 pack in it. I see that all the time collecting dust at my local one. But you have all of what's in there anyway...so meh. Just sayin, might be worth a look if you have a membership/know someone with a membership and have one by you.

Walgreens used to be a good bet to find SSA around spring-summer 2013...but that ship may have sailed as that deal was posted about heavily on here along with many recounts of hunts to them (including my own...Hello Dino Rang in spring of 2013). Plus Walgreens is gonna charge you $10-12, depending on the store. (Yeah, it varies from store to store...Don't ask me) But if you ever find yerself in one, take a minute and walk over to the toy aisle. Weirdly, don't look on the pegs. They put them on the actual shelves so it can be tricky to actually see them. Individual packs only though...Don't waste yer time looking here for Darklight.

Ya bj's has giants cores at 2.99 thou the ones around me are mostly rid of them, they have some giants left which are around $7 if i recall. SSA i never saw at bj's but they could been gone before i looked for them. Walgreens is where i also got dino-rang for like $12 along with singles of ssa zook, camo, warnado singles. I found the last 2 in orlando florida on vacation as there was a walgreens nextstore to the hotel i was staying at on international drive (those that know the area across from what ppl say is the worlds largest mcdonalds)
