Hey, all! Just wanted to let you know that my Toys R Us got in the Wave 3 Swappers and Arkeyan Crossbow Battle Pack today. THEY HAVE NO STREET DATE AND CAN BE SOLD! Interestingly, my store literally only got in one box of each. Still no word yet on the Lightcores or Sheep Wreck Island Adventure Pack, but I will keep you all posted.

I can't stand scalpers, whether they are retail employees or not. However, this is not scalping at all. If this is the first chase variant found, presumably he/she is not hogging them all to keep them out of customers' hands just so that they can be sold at tragically inflated prices.

I agree (having worked retail at a massive electronics store myself) that the only real perk for most retail employees can be the ability to get "first pick". That's not different than a orchard worker choosing the best looking apple to eat for their own lunch. Scalping would be picking all of the best apples, buying them at employee discount and then selling them at a premium amount (higher than your employer sells them for) out of the back of your pickup a block down the street from the farm you work at.

Good for you Trexroarr. I'd love to find a purple eye brawl. He looks much cooler than the standard version, IMO.

A young kid and his dad came into my store today looking for some Skylanders, one of which was Thumpback. We had no more left on the shelf. The kid asked me if I have anymore. I offered to take a look for him no problem, knowing for a fact that we had many boxes of Giants left in overstock. I open up the box and there is the Purple Eye-Brawl. I handed the kid the Thumpback and I put Eye-Brawl on the side for myself. I don't see how I did absolutely anything wrong here in this situation. I saw something that I wanted to purchase and I did. Just because it is worth a lot of money does not make me a "scumbag". This is a perk of working at a retail store like this. Am I a scalper? No. Will this be on Ebay? No. I am a collector and player just like all of you.

The reason I got this job in the first place was to help pay for my hobbies, which of course includes Skylanders. Whenever we get a new figure in I always take one and put it aside for myself. Why go hunting if I have the product in my hand? I'm not going to buy say every Darklight Crypt Adventure Pack we have (and trust me, we have) and put them on Ebay. I already own one for myself and that is good enough for me. I started as a player and collector and THEN became an employee, unlike others at other stores who have realized how big this franchise is AFTER working at said store and then selling figures on the side. Would it have made any of you feel better if I had put the figure on the shelf, clocked out, bought it, and then clock back in? It is the exact same thing. Let it go people. It is not a big deal.

I don't have to give you all inside information about releases and such. I go out of my way to help you all just as I do to anyone who comes into my store asking about Skylanders or Disney Infinity. That is my job. Not only that, but as a fellow player and collector I know how frustrating this game can be sometimes when looking for something. I go out of my way, above and beyond really, to take pictures of the products and to post news. Do I have to do this? Nope. Do I want to? Yes. But if anyone here continues to call me a "scumbag" or accuse me of scalping or anything like that, I will no longer help this forum when it comes to future Skylanders. I hope I made myself very clear on the matter.

Don't get your panties in a waud. I for one have no problem with what you did. I too would have probably done the same thing and if anyone here would be honesty with themselves they too would do it also. Not to sell, but to keep for there collection.

Also want to add that the Lightcore figures are in. Boxes contained 4 of each of the new ones and 1 each of the past ones.

My store got dozens of boxes in.

I work at gamestop, when we get new skylanders or heck my ps4, i put it aside even though it was the only one we had because i wanted it, and i bought it. some great perks of working at these places.

My store only had 3 Lightcore countdowns, a Lightcore wham shell, and 2 Arkeyan crossbows. Going back today to check for SWI

I have my own variant story from earlier this week after I learned about the metallic gill grunt deal being cumulative rather than single purchase. It's definitely a "that moment when" situation...so I'll present it like that.

That moment when...you run over to log in to your TRU rewards account realizing unexpectedly that you might have enough for a free figure "just because." You calculate furiously...and your total is $89.52.

Are all the Hoot Loops sayings now fixed with this wave?

If I somehow offended you, I apologize. I was trying to illustrate (before anyone accused you of anything) how what you did was NOT scalping.

I spent a year working at Fry's Electronics (LONG ago, before Skylanders existed), so I know what the retail grind is like. I know what it is like to be in your shoes and I appreciate your updates when available.

Hey thanks for the heads up. I ran to TRU, Lawrence, NJ, last night after work and picked up the three new swappers, plus LC Whamshell and LC Countdown. Totally made that trip worth it and made my day!!

Just got back from Toys R Us in Milford, CT.

They had a load of wave 3 swappers plus the Arkeyan Crossbow pack, but I didn't see anything else. But there was a shopping cart full of familiar-looking boxes behind the register, tended to by the only employee in the electronics department. I asked him if they got Sheepwreck Island in and he said, "No, I don't think we got that in, sorry."

So I waited as he unpacked the boxes. He was putting up Disney Infinity stuff, so this was going to take awhile...

After about 15 minutes, he comes over with a box of Lightcores with Wham-Shell and Countdown and starts stocking the shelf. I think I startled him because he didn't see me waiting there. Again he said, "I don't think we got that one you're looking for, sorry."

So I picked out a Wham-Shell and Countdown with decent paint jobs and waited...

Another 5-10 minutes pass and he comes over with a smaller box. He starts hanging the contents on the shelf, which I can plainly see is Sheep Wreck Island.

"That's it! That's the one I was looking for!!"

As I was checking out, he explained to me that no one tells them when these things are coming out. He now realized that he had a bunch of customers coming up and asking him for Skylanders today and little did he know what they wanted was probably sitting there boxed up in that shopping cart. Also, it looks like they came in via Fed Ex and not their usual delivery truck...I was told once before that when stock comes in that way, it doesn't show up in their system.

Anyway, it pays to wait. I guess I could have been more assertive and asked him to let me check out the cart, but I didn't want to be a pain. I'm glad to see that this wave is incredibly well-stocked...there were at least 9 Stink Bombs out with more boxes yet to be unpacked! Not many of the cores though.

As an aside, TRU had TONS of Zoo Lou. 2 columns filled top to bottom with both regular and legendary, plus a dozen or so of the triple packs that contain him. They seem to have overestimated his popularity somewhat, but I still kind of like him.

Alright, now time to let the wallet heal until wave 4...

Just picked up arkeyan crossbow, sheep wreck island and lightcores from toys r us in Whitehall, PA

Now I'm starting to get a little worried that my Toys R Us sold out while on vacation this past week! Hopefully we get in a shipment today when I'm there...

Thanks for the info, I was able to get the 2 lightcores and the adventure and battlepack at my toyrsus . Also congrats on the Variant. Taking one for yourself isn't being greedy. It called being the first one there. I'm pretty sure if there was two in that box you would have put the second out on the shelf or offered it to the child you helped by getting them the one they wanted. I use to work in Kmart a while back and was collecting hot wheels. I would always take them out onto the floor and open them there and put them on the pegs. If I saw one that I didn't have I would put it to the side, but if someone would ask for it while I was stocking I would give it to them. I figured with me working there i had a better chance of finding it again than they probably would. Still was able to get most of the collection without issue. Also got a few of the treasure hunt cars at the time. I do recall seeing a gentleman that came in every morning looking for the treasure hunts and the hard to find ones. He would take all that we had normally. So I do despise people like that. He even tried to bribe me with other special ones that he got from trade shows if I would keep the stock in the back for him. I stated I would not and that I would stock when they needed stocked and only then.

We have two TRU in the Des Moines area wher I live. One had plenty of stock. I was there at like 6:30 last night and they still have 10-15 stink bombs on the shelf. The other TRU had none. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Which it looked like they were getting ready/just had an inventory count. Would this stop them from putting new stuff out? They had plenty of space for it.

Anyways, people (including me) have given TRU a tough time for charging more for skylanders than other places. I have really come to the point where I will gladly pay the extra buck or two to get them there because then I don't have to deal with the target fiasco where they are all put out early or didn't get any in.

Hey that's my TRU!

Picked up the three swappers (3 for 35 today) and LC Whamshell & Countdown as well. Really want the Sheep Island but will wait for a sale.

Per few hours ago, TRU San Mateo, CA had ~20 of each swapper, 4 SWI and ~5 AC packs. Plenty of LC Countdown and Whamshell.
A single Prism Break and Phantom Cynder. I just grabbed 1 SWI so there were 3 left.

Last night, TRU Redwood City, CA had few of the LCs but nothing else. Could be restocked by now though.

I picked up Rubble Rouser, Stink Bomb, Spy Rise, Lightcore Wham-Shell, Arkeyan Crossbow battle pack, and Sheep Wreck Island adventure pack at my TRU (Wichita, KS) today, but unfortunately, Hyper Beam Prism Break and Horn Blast Whirlwind still seem to elude me, as TRU didn't have either of those two.

Taco... In most states it would be 14. However, due to strict guidelines you won't get hired until your at least 16.

When I worked at Target the minimum age to work at Target (in the US) was I believe 16, but it varies from state to state. The company's default policy is 18 years of age now, but some states may still allow for 16 year old’s to work limited hours depending on the job position. I would imagine Walmart has similar standards. Your best bet is to check online for both companies and download a job application for your area or call and ask.

That figures the one day I don't look on here and these show up. I would go look right now but the store is already closed. Knowing my luck I'll go tomorrow and all the Sheep Wreck & Bow packs will be gone.

Most retailers are allowed to hire at 16, but won't generally touch anyone under 18 due to all the laws regarding the employment of minors. It's not worth the hassle to hire them when they can't do have the work and you have to be super-cautious about the hours they're scheduled.

So it turns out that those two boxes my store got in yesterday just arrived early. We got in boxes of everything today. Wave 3 is finally finished for me! I'll put up some pictures in a bit for you all.

Also just in case anyone here collects Disney Infinity too, stores should now be getting in Rapunzel, Wreck-It-Ralph and Vanellope. My store got a ton of them in these past few days. Rumor has it that Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey comes out this Friday as well.

Ok visited 5 toysrus today . Found 1 lc countdown, 2 lc wham and 4camo battle packs, no sign of wave 3 swappers or sheep wreck island. I did find a series 1 bash and royal double at a gamestop thou .

I barley go to TRUS because it is like an hour drive.

Driving from Santa Barbara Ca. to Victorville Ca. today and stop by 3 TRU's.
First one had all Wave 3. Got my fix.
Stopped to get lunch (Chick-Fil-a) and next door was a TRU, They also had all of Wave 3. Not as much as the first store.
Got in to Victorville and they only had the Battle pack and Adventure Pack, No Swappers or LC.

Since I cant get my Chick-fil-a fix on my way back home on Sunday, I guess I will have to pick up my Silver Bullet Sprocket at Best Buy instead.

Picked up 2 sheep wreck islands and 2 battle packs at my TRU in PA. They were the only two there.

Have you tried price matching? TRU price matches online retailers like Amazon.com, Walmart.com and BestBuy.com, so you could easily price match. Of course, now that I think about it, I guess those places will have to have them in stock online. Amazon is the only one that lists it, but since they are out of stock, it doesn't show their price. My store had one Stink Bomb left. I don't have the money to buy Skylanders, but my son was wanting to get one with his Christmas money. I didn't have it on me, so I passed on it. I thought about going back to see if it was still there and just price match Amazon, but didn't think about them not having it in stock. At first, I was thinking they would just look up the price of swappers on those sites, but they would probably want to look up the specific one. I was excited to see it, but I'm not sure I want to pay $16.99 for it. Target has them in their ad, again, next week (even picturing Stink Bomb), so I may try my luck there or take the ad to TRU if they have any more. TRU is usually the best place to find what you want, so I may have better luck, there. And the price match guarantee they have (especially since they include online retailers) makes it a bit better.

BTW, Target.com is the only retailer, so far, that has the new Swappers online (other than Amazon occasionally getting them), but they have a 1-31-14 release date on it. Not sure if TRU will still PM or not.
