So...what exactly are they going to do with Legacy figures (ie, the SSA Adventure Pack items) and stuff like the Platinum Treasure chest. As far as I remember, Swap Force is the first game that actually had these figures as part of their collection totals. However, besides stock being a random chance at retailers, its no longer possible to actively buy these figures from retail. (And..do they even sell the Battlegrounds box set any more?)

I figured a super easy fix would be to pair up a Skylander and one magic item. They could easily utilize the size of the swapper boxes so it's not even like they'd have to make new packages outright. Something like:

Royal Double Trouble w/Platinum Treasure Chest
Mega Ram Spyro w/ Sparx
Sunburn w/Winged Boots
Ghost Roaster w/Healing Elixer
Phantom Cynder w/Time Twister Hourglass
Slam Bam w/Anvil Rain
Anchors Away Gill Grunt w/Sky Iron Shield
Knockout Terrafin w/Ghost Pirate Swords
Dino-Rang w/Hidden Treasure
Boomer w/Volcanic Vault

etc etc. Or something to that effect. Obviously, they'd choose what Skylanders but I just paired a handful of them.

I figured a $12.99 price point would be okay for a figure + item. Would you buy something of that sort? What do you think Activision will eventually do with the growing problem of Legacy figures becoming rare and retired?

I would but I have all of the item I have only been into skylanders for about 6 months I got into it back when fritolay did the giants sidekicks promo I got all of them and then my disk replay started to buy and sell them at 5-6$ each no matter what they were and I started buying them I got 3 volcanic vault and to this day I still have no idea what it actually does. But if they did something like this I would buy it at least a couple.

Well, Giants kept track of all of your figures in the total count, plus Special figures.

I like that they do this, so they don't negate the figures you bought previously, making them feel somewhat important, instead of feeling like throw away figures once new ones come out. Can't wait until the totals reach like, 600, or something.

Is Battlegrounds really that hard to find in other places? They've been collecting dust about everywhere I go. I keep expecting them to be marked down for clearance.

The GameStop version (Includes Royal Double Trouble) is hard to find.

I have one I bought a couple weeks ago for the portal but the android version of lost islands doesn't support it yet. I'm trying to sell it for 30 or trade for a wave 3 adventure pack or both wave 3 lightcores.

3 Vault? I have 0 Vault. I wanted one but I live in canada and I don't think canada or at least the portion I live in ever got that item

i always wanted a vault too, but never saw them, and ebay prices are ridiculously high

It really is too bad. No one will ever have a complete collection. No one. Activision or Vicarious Visions could patch the game, but I really don't see that happening.

I picked up a Battlegrounds, new in box (albeit a bit dusty) from a Gamestop here in AZ a few weeks ago. They had a couple more copies after I bought mine. Was the GS exclusive version with Royal DT... Figured that $39.95 was a lot less $$ than what RDT & the PTC were going for on e(vil)Bay plus I got that exclusive char on Lost Islands for owning it. <shrug>

I found it by going to the GS web site and doing a "pick up at store" search for the starter kit and it showed me all the GS' in the area that still had copies available.

Maybe they did it to say "you'll never have a complete collection." Anyway yes it is sad. Especially something that could've been easily avoided.

Maybe they will make a ufo hat card for the platinum chest and sell it at Target for a buck. Here is the catch it only will be available when you pick up your new Skylanders Game 4 the quest for more money with a new portal and 67 new figures to collect. Then maybe we can complete our collection.

I don't know if this was discussed but why doesn't the Platinum Treasure Chest that comes with the Royal Double Trouble register in Swap Force?

I'm really glad it's not just me that that has happened to, I've got the USA GameStop edition and the uk edition and neither show up in swapforce as the platinum treasure chest

No see it's not that simple. The flag on the figure that marked it as Platinum, isn't there. They are simply a repair of the original. Patches wouldn't work, only a mass toy replacement programe.

Yeah I was at a GS in Tennessee and was cashing in my free Skylander coupon when I found on the top shelf one Royal Double Trouble Skylanders Battlegrounds! It was also on sale for $30 something. I had to pick it up especially since I actually almost picked up the regular Double Trouble Battlegrounds just minutes before. I'm glad I waited! It was cheaper too lol. I just don't know what to do with the code for a free Battlegrounds game since I bought it on the App Store for $2 during the Christmas sale.
