More than one? I wonder which boxes Hoot Loop is shipping in now? He's not in wave 3 from what I've seen mentioned?

He's in wave 3 boxes, and there is only one hoot loop per new box

I'll predict that the error will most definitely be worth more.
Thank God that I grabbed an extra.

Error versions are rampant around these parts. I don't see it having much value in the future.

A widespread factory error is not worth much in my opinion...

What do you mean "in the right hands it is?"
So many people have them. They have sold for next to cost on ebay.

Well i can disagree with that i have put up a few error figures just to see what they would fetch. I would start the auction at what my cost on the figure was then let others bid on it, i do it that way because i am not forcing anyone to bid if it sells with 1 bid then i get back what i have in it but all theones i have ever put up have went for well over cost had 1 error sell for over $300 and another for well over $200 and my lowest sold for $75 so those are just some examples, but again i did not force anyone to bid they bid on there own i just put it out there. |

do not even go there i did not force anyone to bid on the auctions, they do that with there on free will. I am at no fault if someone wants to bid there are collectors of errors, because in many years error toys bring good money. For an example my mother has a error barbie that she keep and just last year it went for over 3,000 in a auction. There are reasons why people collect error toys, i for one do collect certain type of error toys i have many batman,gi joe, spiderman, star wars and many other error toys that i have appraised and have been appraised for 3-10 times what i paid for them. So just because i sell these and they fetch a high price i am not a scalper, simply a business person looking for a way to invest in a future for my kids. i live near a very famous auction house here in Atlanta (Sandy Springs) called Gallery 63 which is from the tv show Auction Kings. I see a lot of things toys and other such things that have factory errors that reach prices you could not imagine, a factory error Lone Ranger figure went for $2300 and it was not even boxed. Ebay is only a online bidding house no different from any other auction house. So scalper "NO" person wanting to secure money in the future "YES". |

Have this discussion all the time about how current toys/items of significance from today's youth will be valued 30 years from now.
Skylanders is pretty awesome and could be the He-Man/Transformers/GI Joe/Star Wars thing in 30 years. So things like this error could hold a huge value. However, very very few people collected toys in the 60s/70s/80s the way that many do now. I can't tell you how many kids and adults alike I know that buy 2 or more of every possible toy that they think is awesome. One to play and one to keep in the box. No regular Joe did that in 1965, 1975 or 1985. Maybe, MAYBE, they kept the packaging if it was a box that could be resealed. But even that is rare. I'm sure folks that worked on the creation side (design, marketing, manufacturing) for toys kept some authentic pieces for sentimental reasons that you see pop up now and again on ebay etc. But I find it hard to believe that there's not gonna be a TON of people that are like: "oh yeah, all those boxes of skylanders upstairs that I saved for all these years, time to hock 'em" in the year 2040. There might be 50 times the amount of people doing that compared to what we see today with toys of the 60s-80s....It's just a huge collector's mentality. But hey, time has a way of making things scarce, so I guess we'll see.

That is funny. Lol. Anyway--for clarity--I wss saying the error mentioned in topic was--in my opinion--too common to be worth much. I've seen several listed on ebay not selling or selling for just a little above cost. Other errors--can be worth much more. But of course "what something is worth is what someone will pay for it." That is the bottom line. (As we all know)
