It's up to you.
There's really no other answer besides that. Are you a collector? Do you want to keep it in the box for posterity? That's what I did.
You can open it and play with it and easily display it somewhere too if you want.

Personally I think this one is common enough that it will be worth the same in or out of the box down the road.

It all depends on when you sell. IMO, the most value this will have is when they stop appearing at stores and this entry is still in play. If you don't plan on selling it in the next 6 months, then just enjoy it.

If you are asking so you can sell it later, I suggest buying another one and next year when he is retired, you would at least be able to sell him for what you bought him for if not more and the longer you hold on to him the better chance for his value to rise. At least you would have one that you can enjoy at the same time.
