So I received this little guy today, all excited, I was about to open him up when I noticed something was off. The paper that goes in front of the molded plastic is completely missing! Needless to say, I did not open him up.

hopefully you have another on its way because to play as a swap you will have to open him

Good choice! I'd say that it's 100% unique, unless it turns out like the "Flopped" Stump Smash (Loose in the packaging).

I'd recommend that you sell this guy. He would sell for a lot if the right person saw it.

Might have to try this, have never found/sold anything like this but it might be worth a shot. I don't collect packaging, all my stuff is opened.

I've seen Timber!!!! Stump Smash at least twice before.

With how easy it is to open/reseal a package, I don't think you'll find anyone willing to pay much more for this since anyone who has a QDRS could easily make one of these...

People pay good money for incorrect cardboard backing figures, and those could be fake.

"Good money" is subjective. Show me an eBay auction.

They have decreased in popularity, but they still sell for over retail.

Wow. People are dumb. If I were a less honest guy, I'd be making a mint on eBay...

There's a difference between a heat sealed card/blister and one that is glued. It is so easy to tell the difference. Besides, one is fake and one is not.

I collect these and pick them up all of the time. I've never had a scammer sell me a fake miscard. When and if I do, I'll simply make a paypal claim and get my money back.

If it's done well enough, the vast, vast, vast majority of folks wouldn't notice.

Are you *sure* you've never had someone sell you a "fake"? Any chance you've been sold one that you don't know about?

Of course it's possible Uncle Bob. I collect vintage Star Wars toys as well as there's actually information coming to light where some overstock foreign cardbacks and blisters were found and someone found a clever way to pass them off as original (after combining the cardbacks, blisters and figures). These were sold for hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of dollars/pounds and actually got past the scrutiny of AFA.

I'd be naïve to think it could never happen. While I may eventually get scammed -- and I hope I never do -- I do limit the amount per piece I'm willing to pay for these "just in case."

In any event, I find it fun to collect odd ball stuff and, after all, it's that the point of collecting?

Oh, no doubt. I have a couple of "broken in package" figures and one mis-carded figure I picked up in store just for fun.

I just don't understand paying 2-3x the retail for something that isn't really that big of a deal and can easily be faked.

I get those comments all of the time. I'm actually glad to hear them. It means there's less competition and it keeps the price down. I hope it stays that way

That was actually one of the more common box errors.

I have a Trigger Happy with Terrafin cardboard back, even though it's damaged slightly.

The other oddball I own is a Legendary Chill with an upside-down collector's card.

Thank goodness the disease never spread to this level of insanity for me.
