Advice needed - energy a real problem [CLOSED]

I just started playing Lost islands.

Level 13
106/113 skylanders (using bluetooth portal, not gems), I have at least 1 of each element level 5-7, some others 2-4, nothing above level 7.
140 gems, I have not spent many yet either
low gold
extremely low energy (I have 2 sanctuaries waiting for people because I do not have energy to use them)
companions 13/39: Hyde and Softpaw were the 2 I bought I think

I unlocked 3 islands (fire, magic, tech)

The only thing I think I spent gems on was those 2 companions.

Because I am so short energy, I have been using sanctuaries with only 1 person in them, to save energy. Is this dumb? (I was trying to use energy on adventures to finish all the quests). Am I better off filling 1 sanctuary than using 1 person on each of 3?

Thanks for the direction.

(I cannot sit and play for hours, so I try to do longer term things when I can)

I do my sanctuaries with only one character unless its the element of the day. I do three for the element of the day sanctuary

If your watching tv at night do as many one minute missions and crops as you can stand, I mean really sit on them. Flip them as soon as there done. It's tedious work but mathematically float crops and one minute missions pay out the most gold, energy than any other option in the game. Did I mention it's tedious though...just sayin.

Are the 1 minute crops better than using the crop of the element of the day? I am getting 37 + 4 bonus for Cloudlings today, that seems better than Floats.

Should I be only using Vacation Bungalows for Mabu now? should I sell all my old buildings? Should I replace all my decorations with Sheep Topiary once I can gather enough kudos?

Feel free to add me as friend if you want to give advice about my buildings arrangement, it is a mess right now. ID: iustus

Energy can be a strain at early levels. I never sent 3 Skylanders on sanctuaries, just mostly adventures, until I got to a point that I was producing quite a bit of energy. As you progress, you'll get more energy fields, and there are chances to win radiant energy fields (I don't recall if I've ever even purchased one). I'm at level 38 and have 35 energy fields. It wasn't that long ago that I started sending 3 Skylanders on sanctuaries, and even then I was watching it. I had built up a stash of over 500,000, but I tried to keep it above that in case there were days of double gold or something where I would want to max out my sanctuaries. I ended up getting Ol' Mac during the wishing well glitch, but I still find myself sitting around the 600,000 mark, not really accumulating much. But I send 3 Skylanders on all my sanctuaries and send off all my balloons constantly. Although, a lot of times, I don't use my sanctuaries on the element of the day, as I felt like balloons gave me more gold. I started changing that strategy once I got Gigantus and especially Swap Force once I got Gorm and Tuk , so I would use mostly those and extras for the element of the day, I would send to sanctuaries. But I also tend to throw all my Skylanders out on adventures, now, just to raise their hero level.

As for which element of energy to use, it all depends on how often you play. I usually try sending out 1 hour energy, as that seems to be about as often as I play as a lot of collections (mainly shrines) are based on an hour. I used to send out magic (30 minutes) and collect twice in that hour, but don't always. Element of the day bonus is OK, but if you're not going to check that often, I wouldn't bother, especially when you're talking about 1, 3, & 10 minute energy.

Should I try to buy Snowler brawl's hut before the 22nd? I can probably accumulate enough gems by then, I have been trying to level all my skylanders up to level 3 or 4. Or should I try to save for Diggs + Molekin Market? I don't have Snowler Brawl yet, but I am hoping I will before time is up.

Other possible gem expenditures are:
Hall of Legends 50% off (I do have all the legendary skylanders) at 250 gems
Adventure Airship 50% off at 200 gems

If possible buy diggs. Not sure if he will be nerfed in the future but at the moment that is by far the most valuable companion.....specially since he is going away at the beginning og the year.

Short of spending real money the concept of getting Diggs is highly unrealistic for anyone new to the game. The gem production is far to limited for newer players. Now they went and doubled his cost. Maybe its possible with time traveling, but it still sounds like far more work than it worth. Especially for someone that cant always sit down with the tablet for hours at a time.

Also, if you're short on energy, buy 100 sheep topiaries. That's 10000 energy every 4 hours at no cost.

Since there's not all that many things you can spend kudos on, it sounds like a field of sheep topiaries would be handy for a bit of extra energy early in the game. You can buy up to 100 of them. Each gives you 100 energy multiple times a day. It won't fix your energy, but every little bit helps.

As you progress in the game, your energy expenditure will be significantly aided by how many character houses you have. Each one is 100 per cent pure profit (in gems, XP, energy or gold) with no energy expenditure required - ever. As you start collecting these houses, you will feel the tide start to turn in your game.

When you see radiant energy fields or adventure balloons 75 per cent off - BUY SOME!

Edit: Gee Qanai, you type a lot faster than I do!

You should stop using sanctuaries with low level skylanders. The payout depends on level. If you need gold, use your swappers on mount cloudbreak runs.

Focus on leveling skylanders first.

Then focus on energy efficiency which is radiant fields, old mac, shrines. All on sale of course.

Can you be more specific about the payout? I have so many idle skylanders, I thought throwing a low level one in to get him a level or two seemed like an ok thing to do, it seems I still get 18000 gold for it, and my highest level guy is only 8.

I have been trying to level up the skylanders for the current element of the day as I can. I have all my air skylanders up to level 4 or greater from yesterday, and my life ones are at least 2, and a lot of them are 5 now. But then I was thinking maybe I should be focusing on all my legendary skylanders, regardless of element this week.

It's not what you're GETTING for it. It's what you're PAYING for it. At 5000 energy per sanctuary slot, it is still profitable, but it's not cheap. Eventually you will run out of energy altogether, so Charred is recommending that you ration your energy towards those characters that generate a LOT more profit per transaction. Both Tree Rexs, all swappers, all legendaries and specials - and opt for element of the day first.

For the same reason, you try to plant a lot of crops that match the element of the day. Everything in this game will progress you. Will having extra shrines boost gold and crop production? Yes. Will levelling up your skylanders give more gold? Yes. Will having character houses ease your energy burden? Yes. Will having adventure airships and radiant energy fields boost your profit margins? My word yes.

Today's bargain of the century - Halls of Legends for 100 wishstones each. My suggestion - buy as many as you can afford (up to say 20) and keep them occupied. All character houses (and halls) are 100 per cent profit. No energy required. In fact, they'll occasionally give you energy. Right now, today, there isn't a no-brainer in this game better than Hall of Legends, although Diggs runs close behind for well-established players. Tomorrow may be a different story.

I will throw in a question here. I have 520 gems left after buying the Swap Force House. Do you think I should get another Swap House? Snow Brawlers hut? Or spend it on something like a fishery? I also need to save up for a castle but, I am the type of person who hates sitting on gems. Lol.

Thanks everyone for their help.

You get gold base on level of skylander. For example:

Lv 1 jolly bumble blast - 19800 (18k + 10% special bonus)
Lv 12 double trouble - 21960
Lv 13 volcanic erupt or - 23956 (might not be exact, was hard to see... Will know in 5 hours)

So, I thought I was supposed to be using wish stones in the well, so I have been doing that as I get them. My well is half full, I still do not have snowler brawl. I now have 5! stones saved. Is there some fast way to accumulate them? Is it better to save up wish stones and use them all at once?

I don't have Gurglefin, but I am now trying to save kudos to get him (I was buying sheep topiaries). How often do you get wish stones as gifts? (I obviously do not have Cherry either)
