Again, R.O.B was not well received as it felt slow and clunky, and this is mainly due to Brawl being developed as a slower, more casual game than Melee, which meant not many competitive players picked it up. Not many casual players picked R.O.B because of how obscure it is. Until Project M, we've had no way to know what R.O.B might be like in a faster game. But not enough people are going to pick up R.O.B in Project M, nor will they pick up Project M to begin with.

On a side note, she seems to control the Luma as a second character, so Ice Climbers might make the roster after all.

I noticed that too. (After I quit screaming in excitement that the newcommer I wanted just got revealed) Looks they got around it. Brings back hope for the fans of Ice Climbers and Pokemon Trainer.

There also appears to be different colored lumas.
I'm wondering how they'll work, maybe different attacks?

EDIT: Also, does anyone know if Rainbow Road is a new stage?

I was wondering if the different Lumas were either the different costume colorations for her or possibly just a random thing. It could not effect the way she plays.

I would love if Rainbow Road was a new stage, though it possibly isn't. Other than being used for her entrance like that, we have nothing else that would say if it is a stage.


I'm just so excited for Rosalina. I've been asking for her for like the last 10 pages.

She looks pretty amazing as you can control them both at the same time if she could bring the whole comet observeitory down and KO everyone for her FS

Also, I think she's rendered absolutely beautifully. I just LOOKED at her and was like "wow, much beauty".

I look forward to the Luma de-syncing action she seems to have.

So the whole "rendering a two-character team for the 3DS is challenging" reason people are using to say the Ice Climbers probably won't get in was a complete coverup for this, right? XP

With the announcement of Dr. Luigi, I want Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi in SSBU/3DS.
Maybe not as playable characters though but as alt costumes, because it kinda seems like a waste of character space.

The only thing is, rendering Lumas is much simpler than rendering Ice Climbers.

However, people discovered that a 3DS cartridge cut literally fit all of Brawl's data on it...so I don't know. The 3DS doesn't seem too limiting to me.

People are saying that if they can pull of a two character gimmick with Rosalina & Luma, they should be able to do the same with the Ice Climbers again, but isn't the Luma just like the Pikmin? Not as another actual controllable character, but more of a means of attack for the primary character. Heck, they're even called Pikmin & Olimar in this game, so I don't see how this is any different. :S Again, unless I'm missing something.

Still, I'm surprised she was announced before the likes of Yoshi. Unless this is attempting to drum up sales for 3D World and/or hype for Mario Kart 8 (in which she's also playable). <.<

They're most likely saving his announcement for the release of 'Yoshi's New Island'.

Also, gotta lol at people who think Luigi and Rosalina are getting too much attention lately. They're objectively the most developed and interesting characters in the Mario platformers. They deserve all of this attention.

I didn't realize Pikmin & Olimar were in this game.
But Luma does seem to be controllable to some extent, at least about as much as the second Ice Climber I think.

Well, if you look at the official website it says Pikmin & Olimar.

Look around 1:46 to see her and Luma doing the same attack at the same time. :/
