Molekin Market Payouts [CLOSED]
MtLebo-Jason Green Sparx Gems: 440
#1 Posted: 21:04:50 16/12/2013 | Topic Creator
I've collected 19 times from the new Molekin Market (all using 500,000 coins) so far.

Results:

25 gems - 15 times
104-114 gems - 4 times

So 25 gems is the standard, and occasionally you collect something more than 100 gems.

It is a small sample size.

Is anyone else getting different results?

I used 500,000 coins each time. I probably won't use energy for a while as I have 14x as many coins as I do energy.

Converting wish stones is not an option.

I have no energy, but over $4mil in gold.

I did what I promised never to do - I paid real money. I'm comfortable with that, because to top my gems up to the 1000 I needed cost about as much as I'd pay for a mobile game (x2 of the smaller packs - which are currently giving me 300 gems) and this one building is the answer to freeing yourself from real-money transactions forever.

When did the update happen? How can you collect 19 times when it takes 24 hours to collect? If the update happened today? Hoe many markets do you have? It would only let me have one.

I collected 30 times as a test, all 30 were 25 gems. I tried giants, variants, specials, legendary, swap.....all paid the same25.

I was lucky to get an personal offer with 50% off of Diggs. Got him right away for 500.

First time I activated the market with an elemental giant I got 124 gems! I was totally surprised, what a way to start, just cou;n't believe it. Hope I get these more often :-)

You can either choose to convert 500.000 gold or 200.000 enery. It takes 24 hours and you can have 1 market as far as I know.

I'd like to thank Activision for this companion and for changing the purchase of Halls of Legends from wishstones to gems. You've now proved beyond any doubt whatsoever that wishstones and kudos ARE worthless.

At least concerning wishstones these were never a proper currency, right. But worthless? The wishing well and the wishstones really added an important element to the game. Let's face it: The gameplay of Lost Islands is quite dull. The strategy value is small and the only motivation to continue to play this game even after reaching level 40 and fulfilling all tasks is to collect Skylanders and special buildings. The wishing well adds to this because of its random element.
Woz Yellow Sparx Gems: 1343
#17 Posted: 12:59:28 17/12/2013
Agreed. They did add an important element to the early game. But now that extra shrines have been disabled in the well, and as you progress through the game, the value of wishstones plummets alarmingly. Now you can't buy anything with them and you can't exchange them. You only need a maximum of 200 a month to secure each new alt, when most of us are collecting well over triple that.

Energy is cheaper for me. Well, maybe. It is circular.

My sanctuaries give me around 100k each per run. Five of them uses 75k energy.

But, just using gold to make energy, 200k energy costs me less than 200k less free energy from houses. I have old mac and radiants.

Ill probably just use gold because maintaining 200k energy per day and running everything everything else is difficult. Unless I shut everything off but then why even log in? Ill stick with gold.

If you have Ol' Mac, I think it's cheaper to produce the energy needed, but you have to think about the time it will take to produce that much energy, plus you're taking away from the energy you'll need for other things. You can probably better utilize that energy to produce more gold, which in turn could be used to convert to gems. It's quite more complicated than it originally looks. I guess if you didn't want to produce any more gold or hero points, you could just produce energy and use it to produce gems.

Ok finally got some 100 gem payouts. 4 out of 10 this morning were 100+ gem payout. Difference today from yesterday when I had zero out of 30 payout 100, I just converted energy. So I guess it's really random which is fine. So if I had to guess with those of us with one house could average about 1500 gems a month. Pretty nice if you ask me.

#21 Posted: 16:17:53 17/12/2013
I've only tried a few times and so far only gotten 25 gems. I was able to get Diggs for 50% off, though. One of my trips to collect from the marketplace I got the offer for Hot Head's house, so I took it, which took me way below where I needed to be to pick up Quickdraw. It would be nice to get him on a 50% off deal. I should get the gems back when I get the figure (hopefully, soon smilie ), but I want to save as many gems as I can to take part in the offers on the houses.

Throw them in the well and get gold, energy and sometimes other stuff (and I think shrines are still available, but very rare). If you don't need gold or energy, it's probably time to start another game. I don't see any motivation to continue if you already have everything and more than enough of every resource.

Because they do great at adding new stuff every week. And the complaint isn't about having more than enough of every resource, but that they create resources that seem to have no point. Kudos hasn't had anything new to buy since it started. Wish stones are only good for getting the alter ego, now. Yes, you can throw them into the well and try for other stuff, but it's becoming more rare to get anything worth all the hassle. When even some of the top prizes (like cocoa stands and taverns) become a bore and you just want to sell them, then it becomes not worth it. We've built up shrines and get lots of wish stones, but now they aren't as valuable. If they would change out the element of the day bonus for shrines, that would be great. Some of us who have been playing for a while have several shrines and end up with over 1000 stones a month, when we don't need a little more than 200. I have been wondering if they were going to phase out the alter egos after a year. This could be a step in that direction. If they decide not to make any more alter egos, then the well becomes pointless. They could then eliminate the well and wish stones. But they would have to balance it out by doing something else with the shrines. I'd love for it to be gems, but I'm sure they don't want to give out tons of gems every month, as that's how they make their real money. I'm really not sure what I would do with them, but maybe they have a plan. I say they should keep the wish stones, but give us a reason to collect them. Maybe make it part of the conversion process with Diggs. When people first found out about Diggs, they thought wish stones were included, anyway. It's not a bad idea. Or give us other stuff to chase. Even if it isn't an alter ego, make some other really good prizes to win. But also make it easier to dump the stuff you don't want. It becomes a pain to have to go through your inventory and sell all the "junk". I know they are a necessity to be a filler in between winning top prizes, but there can be a better way of dealing with them. Maybe give us the option when we win something to keep it or sell it. Instead of automatically putting it in inventory and us having to go through and delete them. It becomes especially burdensome when you have 50 of the same item. I know it's been brought up to have the option to sell all of one item, which is a good idea, too.

... to play the game any more. Again, what is the basic gameplay? I would say it's the right balance of the different resources. The overall goal is to fulfill tasks (like reaching a certain level) and getting all Skylanders. For this you need gold, to get gold you need energy and vice versa. Wishstones help in this getting of resources by filling up both resources on a random basis. If you are not interested in getting gold and/or energy at all (because you have enough of it all the time), what's left of the gameplay?

I wouldn't mind it if it gave gold and energy all the time. But it mostly gives useless decorations, and when it does give gold and energy, it's such a small amount, that it's not worth the effort. It's great for those at lower levels, but for those of us at higher levels (who have a lot of stones to throw), it's very minimal. Again, if there was an easy way to discard the decorations, it might be more worth it to just throw them in. That's what's annoying.

I can't say what is cheaper, but if your still collecting sky landers you can't spin with energy so you're probably better off saving gold for spins and doing all you can to use energy in moleikin mkt. that's what I'm ding as soon as I spin for the remaining sk I need I'll start using gold on mm.

I'm afraid that now after these changes they will decrease the chances to win something in the wishing well because wish stones are not needed for anything else and will be piled up like kudos are now.
Another thought is the gem prices are going to rise for everything since they gave us a way to make them relatively easy by converting gold/energy.
I was too late for a glitch when you was able to have multiple Molekin Markets. Bad luck smilie
It would be nice if you can buy or win more Molekin markets from the well or in shop. But it's not likely - they are not going to give us easy way to collect gems instead of spending real money to buy it.

I hope I'm wrong smilie

As I've said, I was happy to buy gems solely to get him on the understanding that by getting Diggs I'm effectively avoiding having to spend real money on gems ever again. It's offering 750 gems a month (or a lot more if you get a few 'bonus' payouts) in addition to whatever you'd normally get from sanctuaries, houses, gifts, etc. That's enough to easily save up for pretty much anything that would normally require real money to be practical.
I hate fee-to-play games, and so I look at buying Diggs the same way as I look at paying for a 'normal' app.

I buy gems in the game for two reasons: paying money is absolutely not required to achieve everything in the game, and the 300 for $0.99 offer is a reasonable amount of gems for the cost, so essentially I can pay what I think the game is worth.

That won't last you long at 5,000 a pop. How do you have that many, anyway? Do you visit a lot? I only have 9,000 and haven't even bought up the max number of topiaries. But I never visit. Granted, I haven't even been doing the gifting as loyally as I used to, either. Ever since they took wi-fi away from work, I had to turn my data off for Lost Islands as it would eat up a lot of my data (probably updates), so I can't connect to do it during the day and don't always have time at night.

It's not hard to have accumulated that many kudos - I've got something like 35,000 and I haven't visited in months. I've got all the topiaries I can get as well as the Admiral and kudos companions. I did visit most days for quite a while, and with the doubling you get from Avril and Batterson, you can pretty easily collect 500-1000 per day (1200 or more if you're really dedicated). The problem is, why bother? I can easily make enough gold or energy in a day to keep the mine running, and I don't even use the Sanctuaries any more - the houses are enough.

I don't visit either, and that cost would mean at least a week of collecting and lots of gifts. Visiting is so time consuming anyways, for so little reward. Sure, Hyde shows up once in a while, but some people's kingdoms are hard to find those elusive kudos due to their layout.

As far as data goes, the biggest problem is the Wishing Well, I noticed it saves your whole kingdom EVERY time you spin. So all those times at the beginning of the month when there is a new alter ego, or weekend special with all of the legacy ones you can blow through data in a hurry. Don't do mass wish stone dropping over cellular, either turn on Airline mode and then spin and turn it back on after (to save what you win) or do it over WiFi. Updates also cost a chunk.
