Some are ignorant and some don't care.
Some do know but they think they shouldn't be sensitive because it would make the person think that they can behave how they want just because of that.
Imagine a person constantly whining about whatever. Some people do it anyways because they want the whiner to learn that they don't have to stop doing whatever just because the whiner doesn't like it. The whiner should then learn to live with it.

These are some possibilities.

Probably because those people have no values ******to understand and appreciate the feelings of others. Just think of themselves.

Another case may be that they are ignorant with new things, & that when another person expresses how he/she feels about that, the other person does not know that, and he/she believes it ridiculous or stupid. Simply because at first glance he/she believes incoherent.

Another case may be by just the physical part of the person. For example, those feelings come from a white person and the others are of a different color, then the physical differences equal with the emotional differences, according to these people.

These reasons may be, or not, or there are other reasons. Anyway, this world is not perfect & in the life of each of us (also mine) will see good & bad people. The important thing is:
Find out who are the good people.
Ignore those who are bad people & never be near them.

A good life is lived with good people.

There is no such thing as "good" and "evil". They are simply terms we use to portray different perspectives.

And here's a mindblowing fact for all of you (not just metallo), we do all understand each other. The problem is simply a lack of knowlegde and motivation. We can only work together when we have a reason to do so because human beings are, above all, logical.
Common threats and problems. War, disaster, starvation, sickness, a singular goal for us to focus on and try to reach in unison. This is what brings people together because it makes us form a similar perspective on a matter that requires dealing with.

So simply put, the only thing we need as a species is a problem big enough for us all to know about and put our minds on to form a similar, species-wide perspective. But what is the likelihood of that happening?

And then, after we've conquered that problem we're left to form our own motivations again, and new problems arise. It's an endless cycle. Think of it as the social evolution of our species.

It's like an immune system of a single human being. It doesn't stop new viruses from infecting you, but it evolves to stop them afterwards (if the virus doesn't kill you, that is). Problems are dealt with as they arise. That is nature at it's purest.
