EDIT: My Target was a bust. The pegs were pretty cleared out though. I know when Wave 2 came out, they specifically stated it in their weekly ad. Maybe there'll be mention of it on the new ad and have them be fully released on Sun, the 15th, as was widely rumored.

I asked my dad to check any store he could, but it might be rather hard for him considering the road conditions so far. I only hope I find Wave Three here in the North West!

A while back someone saw . We thought it was trolling, but I now think it's real

I just ran to my TRU in Boynton Beach, FL. The guy there said they weren't supposed to be getting Wave 3 until December 28th, or January. According to him even Activision hasn't decided when to release it. I just want to add that I don't know how true any of that is, I'm just passing it along. I'm really hoping he's wrong.

My TRU and Target (in Houston) didn't have any wave 3. Didn't have Jolly Bumble Blast either, though I got him last Saturday at GS without issue.

My TRU didn't get any either. Very odd considering they've been wiping up the competition with their superior stock selection (in my area at least)

Based on all the reports thus far, it sounds very much like this guy in Arizona at the Target was just very fortunate. Maybe an early shipment, maybe an employee putting out stock before s/he was supposed to. Hard to say for sure. Sometimes people just get lucky.

But it's clear that this sighting is just a trickle or anomaly of "wave 3". I suppose it's worthwhile to check stores now, but it's still far more likely that you'll end up disappointed, rather than pleasantly surprised, with the results. There just isn't any evidence (yet) that a full-fledged release of "wave 3" is imminent.

I'd wager that its approaching. What is of notice to ME though is that they were the swappers that were found before the core/reposes...which is the opposite of what we would expect given the information currently floating around about a 'split' Wave 3.

Yep. One sighting does not a wave make. It will be VERY obvious when it's available more globally. It will trickle in by the minute.

Checked a store today in levittown, ny for the heck of it. Nadda even got to look in a sealed wave 2 box for greens, nadda there. All they had were wave 2 on the shelves but i did find some wave 1 at the checkout area on a shelf up there with a ton more of wave 2

This sounds like a possible shipping mistake more than anything. I would have thought there would be a few more sightings by today. The only in hand auctions on EBay I found was one from the UK.

We've seen this before, the new wave is found sporadically in a couple places at first, then makes its way across the country.

Its from overseas not an US version look at the picture. European shelf tag on the package.

The title of the item says "Not release in the US". He must have got it overseas and brought it to the States to sell or had a friend/family mail it to him.

It seems that most of the contributors to this forum "know a manager" at Toys R Us or GameStop. I'm not saying that your source is bad, but we've all here seen dozens of examples this year alone where a forum member says "the manager at my local Toys R Us/GameStop says [insert Skylander here] will be out on [insert date here]" .... and they're almost always false reports.

Right now, in summarizing the hearsay reports that have been posted to the forum recently (in this thread and others), we have ....

• One person claiming that "wave 3" is already "out", based on findings at one Target store in Arizona.
  
• Several people claiming that today, 12/13/13, is the USA release date for "wave 3".
  
• Several other people claiming that Sunday, 12/15/13, will be the USA release date for "wave 3".
  
• At least one person claiming they saw (or heard from an employee) about Skylanders boxes in the stock/back-room marked "do not sell until 12/22/13".
  
• One very reliable source claiming that "wave 3" Core Skylanders will be out in limited supply during the last few days before Christmas, with the "swappers" following during the big retail sales week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
  

I think it's safe to say that we really have no idea, other than to say that "wave 3" will be soon, with "soon" implying basically any time between now and the end of 2013.

The 29th has always been the date. The situation that apparently happened at a Target store in Phoenix, AZ was a total and complete fluke.
Don't get your hopes up for a flood of new skylanders this Sunday. The corelanders will be released everywhere on, or a few days before the 29th.
For the 3 swaplanders, expect to find those at the same retailer that the poster from Phoenix, AZ found his at first. You might have to wait until early January to find the swaplanders anywhere else.

I believe Lesty is (perhaps) suggesting that Target stores will be the first to shelve "wave 3" among USA retailers, (probably) beginning on (or around) December 29th. If indeed he is implying (and I can't say for sure) that Target will have semi-exclusive "first dibs" on Stink Bomb, then it's not like there isn't precedent for that. Last January, GameStop had semi-exclusive "first dibs" on the Scorpion Striker pack for several weeks before other retailers received those.

Given the very, very large stock of Skylanders currently at all Toys R Us stores, it makes sense that they'd be in no rush what-so-ever to shelve "wave 3" there yet. They'll want to clear their current inventory in the shopping days leading-up to Christmas next week. Then, in January, when things have settled a bit, they'll have new "wave 3" stock then, to attract all the new Skylanders fans that will be "born" at Christmas.

Meanwhile, Target stores seem content to take a backseat on Skylanders for now, and then perhaps make a big sales push immediately after Christmas, in order to attract the gift-card shoppers, with the added enticement of Stink Bomb and the others in "wave 3".

Nice finds regardless. Nothing new in my neck of the woods. This is a great time to land variants though...with season help coming in, the "regular" employees that might hold back stock could miss a shipment, or the temp help could stock something unknowingly...Good luck!

lesty is 100% legitimate and has released reliable info several weeks in advance of different releases including Jade Flashwing and Gnarly Tree Rex single pack. I'm sure for professional reasons he needs to be vague about his exact position so I won't comment on it but most people here have a good idea of where he works.
