I'm mainly venting due to a mistake I made last night, but how hard is it for the developers to put in an "Are you sure?" prompt when making purchases using gems?
I got a gold chest and was going to get a Tree Rex to open it and somehow I ended up on Slobbertooth's purchase screen and bought him. I know I was moving through stuff fast, but I have no idea how I ended up on that screen with the purchase button being the area of the screen I was tapping. An "Are you sure?" prompt would have saved me 200 gems. I know the mistake ultimately is on me, but a prompt like that would still be useful as it's easy to accidentally press the purchase buttons when scrolling through screens of companions or decorations and such.
I know I can eventually get my gems back if I enter a Slobbertooth code, but I had no plans on getting him. Maybe I can eventually trade one of my codes for one of his.

I hear you. Unfortunately it's happened to most of us, I think. They should at least really, really drag out that timer that commits you to gem purchases so you have plenty of time to cancel it. Like for 30 seconds. That's probably even better than an "are you sure" prompt that can quickly and mistakenly be clicked through.

That also happened to me once, luckily I had time to cancel, but there is a very little time to do it .
Is very easy to push the button by mistake, especially since we do "tap tap" mechanically and quickly: houses, XPs, crops, shrines, altars, adventure balloons, everything super-fast. I agree with all of you: They should allow more time for cancellation, or ask if you're sure. Or better yet, don't give the option to finish earlier. "things made in due time". |

Cancel button on clearing trees rocks etc would be good. Those pesky wizard trolls have me double tapping so fast ive accidentially cleared areas i wanted to leave with original items.
Or Give me the ability to buy original decorations back. Id pay gems to put green puffy trees back on my islands. |

At least you bought something useful, my most painful accidental gem purchase was clicking to hurry up a Farmer's Market, so I got a piddly 1900 XP for 150 gems. Totally my fault, but still frustrating. It was the middle of the night and I was barely awake, Beatrees is right next to my Farmer's Market, I clicked to harvest, clicked again thinking I was going to replant, noooooooo. Who does that? Why have such crazy prices on such crappy return?
I agree about the original decorations too, the other day I accidentally cleared my last tree on my main island. What was the worst was that there was no cancel option, just the option to spend gems to hurry up something I didn't want to do.

This. I've previously asked for an extra preference setting to disable gem hurry-ups, but Midas' answer is a clear winner. It'd take the devs only 30 seconds to change the timer and make everyone happy. |

I got rocked for 60 gems about 10 months ago when 60 gems meant 2months of saving. It accidentally tapped a wood stack house! Since then I've managed to cancel all mis taps in time. I agree that if it took longer more people might realize there is a cancel option and spare themselves the loss of gems

The cancel button is quick, but there have been times that I watched it get all the way across, and it seemed like forever as I kept tapping it and nothing happened. I saw the little sparkles that showed I was tapping there, but it wasn't taking the tap. It's annoying enough when it happens on normal things, and I have had it happen with Hyde as I keep tapping him and he eventually disappears, but to waste gems on a hurry up because tapping isn't working would have been a tremendous upset. Luckily, it worked right as the bar got full. I'm not sure what the deal is with tapping not working properly. I would say it's my phone not picking up the taps right (especially since I have issues with it picking up the wrong character in typing even though my finger is tapping another one), but when I keep seeing the sparkles right where I'm tapping, it makes me question the game itself. I still see no need for hurry ups, so why not just give us the option to turn them off?

I must be a jaded American consumer, but I suspect all of these mechanics are there on purpose in order to get people to waste gems.

I have no doubt that is the case and why they have failed to implement better safeguards. |
