--New companion, Tessa, that gives a 25% boost to Mabu for 3000 gems.
--New Orville timed quest to send sklyanders on adventures and to clear sheeps/trolls--awards a radiant energy field
--New Flynn/Giant timed quest (you don't need Flynn but you do need a Giant--Flynn gives the quest) to send Giants to Darkwater Cove and Empire of Ice. Awards a Hall of Legends.

What else?

Odd that Jade Fire Kraken is already in Lost Islands since we have no idea about the actual figure release. And in case anyone is wondering, Jolly Bumble Blast is already in the game if you use the bluetooth portal to scan him in.

Haha, figures they'd give us an expensive companion after they snuffed out the super helpful time traveling glitch.

It looks like we are getting some basic quests to help out the new Android players.

Awww. I had been waiting for Tessa but she doesnt offer me anything. Tessa is a weird mid-game companion which is a time when gems are precious. At level 40 or max skylanders she has zero value since you either dont need more houses or you can spend all your gold on houses. She will also act as a space saver. I was hoping for something bigger from her.

I think a lot of us were expecting a Bird House quest.

Yeah, she was mentioned several times, already, and not part of today's update.

Overall, this update is pretty lame. They introduce a Skylander that isn't out in the stores, yet, and will more than likely have a timed quest next week. Then they give us a new companion for 3000 gems that is fairly pointless. She might be great early on. I would have liked a mabu boost several levels, ago. But now that I'm above 37, I've gotten quite a few B&Bs from the well, so mabus aren't that valuable. Tessa is still a great idea for a companion, but not at 3000 gems! By the time you feel like you can spend that much, I'm not sure you really care about gaining mabu. I guess it would help with saving space on your islands, but not much else. Even though I've gained a lot of mabu from the B&Bs I haven't even bothered with building the community buildings for quests. They're rewards are minimal. I used to be one who wanted all the quests cleared, but I have so many Skylanders quests (mostly to send them off on their 22 hour missions and a lot from the new Skylanders I've put in, recently), that I don't even think about all the others buried down the line. They only way I'll get Tessa is if there's another well glitch.

It seems to me that they continue to make it harder and harder to win B&Bs from the well (I threw 350 stones yesterday and got zero B&Bs, Fisheries or Taverns, for example), so I suspect that for many of the more recent players who never won these when it was easy, Tessa will be very welcome. I'll probably even get her if I save up enough gems when she's on sale.

Catching Fire seems to be his first personal quest so at the very least we can clear that quest off our list.

3,000 is a lot of gems but I am not ready to sat she isnt worth it. Space is becoming a premium, and I hope they continue releasing other high cost items as many people are sitting on millions in gold, thousands in wishstones and kudos. Then again B&B's were on sale for 250...

If you plan on leveling as quickly as possible you need to cover as much space with small exp generating buildings. That pretty much means covering your islands with houses which takes away a lot of the bonus of Tessa. If I remember correctly I had every community building out at level 40 and I was less than 50K Mabu needed. I've hit that number just with the small number of B&B and Boats I have scattered around.

You mean that there's no new content suitable for new players? That's certainly true this week.

Although, I think the recent addition of Gorm and Tuk is pretty useful for new and older players alike, while Wheellock is also a valuable addition for new players to work towards and quite useful for older players as well. And the just-finished 80 per cent off all skylanders was pretty good for the Android crowd if they got in quickly.

Unless the new players are happy to lay down some serious real currency, it'll be a damn sight easier for new players to accumulate 3000 kudos than 3000 gems for Tessa, but I don't see the devs releasing any kudos-based content at all.

Portalflip, do you have any idea what the devs might be waiting for? I mean, releasing two kudos-boosting companions and no kudos content seems fairly strange.

I'm only pointing out that to a player who just started and doesn't have a lot of friends that 200/400 Gems for a companion that boosts your Kudos output may be enticing especially when they're offered a discounted Gem starter pack. Not everyone can be jaded level 40 players like us. While we may be bummed that we haven't seen new Kudos content a 10-25% XP bonus and/or a Giant Alter Ego would make the grind much more tolerable.

And as much as I'd love to say otherwise I don't have any inside info as at the end of the day I'm just a guy with a blog. I hope that we see new items in the future but I'm not expecting a huge inventory of Kudos-only items. We'll see if Kudos become a more important currency but I feel like their meant to have their own little niche as a bonus for those who opt to use the social features.

The Devs post a screen that says a sale is upcoming but you don't believe it unless confirmed by a time traveller?

I think people are getting a bit spoiled by the time travellers.

In any case, there is any new house (neither of which cost gems or the ones that cost money).
Sometimes the home screen (when the game is loading) make comments that are obsolete, in that screen was where I read it. I guess that it's an obsolete comment....

Why do you say it's an obsolete comment? We didn't say it was. I hadn't seen that screen until after yesterday's update. Most of the obsolete screens are after a sale ends but before an update. I agree with that. I think a few folks bought the castles when on the 75% sale, but even that seems crazy to me.

Maybe I misspoke (sorry, but keep in mind that I have to use google translator and what I know about english, to write in the forum, is difficult to explain what I mean. Sometimes in only read the comments made by all of you - they are interesting - because I can hardly explain).

About home buying, I don't buy house that cost gems (I bought someone little at first), in fact, all of my taverns, fisheries and B&B comes from the wishing well. I didn't buy anyone when recently they had 75% off (well, although I would have at least one thing each type, castles would not buy them, then take up too much). I also prefer to spend my gems into the house or giant alter ego, are more profitable.

I bought a castle last sale because I like them. BUT...my houses, chests and the sugar bats supply me with a very decent supply of gems per day. I have the luxury of buying that castle with earned gems rather than bought gems.

If you plan properly, you do really hit a point where the game supplies you with a decent supply of gems. Maybe not enough to buy every companion at full price, but you will knock them off one-by-one when they are on sale.

I also agree with you about spending gems, in fact I've been playing since December 2012, and since then I've only bought gems in the app game, 5 times and it has always been when they offer 300 gems for € 0.89 (I guess that is less than 1 $ for American players). Like you, I have organized my game to get a daily supply of gems that allows me to make small purchases of giants and alter-ego houses, but not companions at a full price. In fact, I have not needed to buy any Skylander on this latest offering, because I've been getting all through spins (except two of the first alter-egos that I didn't get). Well, it's true that I bought some physical figures for my son has the PS3 games and NDS, otherwise I would go rearmost.

I'm waiting for Gorm&Tuk on sale (50% off)....

Oddly enough I sold my castle (I know, I know, waste of gems) because they take up so much space for the payoff.

lol... the reason I had asked as others have stated was in fact because we already had a sale on premium houses so it was unexpected to have another sale soon after. I don't consider myself spoiled by the time travellers but u have to admit with all the issues with the game lately (ie the demise of a lot of long term players saved games) can u blame me from wondering if the load screen was a left over from a previous update.
