Kardonis Industries

The central workstation consists of several concentric rings of desks with computers. A variety of different Dark Land species, ranging from Piranha Plants to Koopa Toopas to Goombas, are seated at the desks, pecking away furiously at their computers. Two Grodus Blasters stand guard at the only visible entrance to the room. At the center ring, sits a rather skinny, pale, wimpy looking Koopa Troop wearing a black turtleneck sweater.

A bright flash of light envelops the room and deposits the heroes in front of the central area. Mysteriously, Sleepy is completely missing. Several of the workers gasp. The Grodus Blasters snap to attention and one turns over toward an emergency panel and prepares to flip a switch, when Zephyr and Bruce fire off shots from their blasters and knock the Blasters out cold. The sweater-wearing Koopa turns to face the group.

"What in the-? How did you get past the security system?" It gasps in a high-pitched, squeaky, male voice.

"With the power of JUSTICE!" Troll Slug cheers. Everyone flashes him a strange look, but he simply has a cheesy grin plastered on his face.

"Hmph. It's irrelevant. I'll simply call in some security and you ruffians will be on your way." He sneers. willspyro leaps forward and blasts the computer to smithereens with a wave of freaky psychic energy.

"Your ill tides end here." He mutters.

"So, that's Kardonis? LOLOLOLOLOLOL! He's a n00b. We'll pwn him so hardcore." Seiki giggles.

"Before you little maggots try anything, allow me to sufficiently blow your mind with this little tidbit," Kardonis threatens. "I am a level 70 ice mage wielding the Enchanted Hammer of Zo..." CG winds up and punches Kardonis square in the face as he brags, instantly knocking him out and causing him to tumble off his desk.

"Wow, that felt good." CG muses. Meanwhile, Seiki walks up to one of the computers and hooks up his laptop.

"D00ds! There's, liek, a dark matter harvester set up off the cost of Yoshi's Island." Seiki declares. "We should totes go there!"

"GREEEEEEEEEEETINGS, MY OLD FRIENDS!" The distinct, shrieking voice of Dr. Grodus thunders throughout the room as a video feed of him pops up on the large computer screen in the back of the room. He leans close to the camera. "You sure have been managing to keep yourselves BUSY since we last met. Too bad it's all going to be for NOOOOOOTHING! Muh hoo ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

"What are you planning to do with that dark matter, you fiend?" Cynderfan demands.

"Grah hah hah hah hah!" Bowser chortles as he shoves Dr. Grodus aside and looks over the heroes. "Like I'd tell you chumps that I'm going to consume the dark matter to make myself completely invincible."

"YOU BUFFOON!" Dr. Grodus snarls, knocking into Bowser as he squeezes into the shot. "You just revealed m-... our diabolical plan to YOUR ENEMIES." He screams. "How many times do I have to tell you to keep your big, FAT, SCALY LIPS SHUT?!" He shouts so loudly, Bowser is knocked to the floor by the force of his voice.

"Uh... I think I lost count around 200 or so." Bowser grunts. He gets up and dusts himself off. "Relax, it's not a problem." He leans into the camera and grins menacingly. "This just gives us an excuse to kill you off even FASTER. I had it planned from the beginning. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Wait a second, so you knew we were coming?" Prex gasps.

"Pretty slick, huh?" Bowser smirks. "I gave that stupid actor an old key card, knowing he'd turn to you for help. And you all fell for my BRILLIANT trap hook, line, and stinker."

"Please..." Dr. Grodus scoffs, "You could have dangled a turkey leg from a string and they would have jumped for it."

"In any event, I've had my laughs for today. Time to watch you chumps flounder about at the hands of the Hyperdrone!" Bowser declares.

"WHAAAAAT?! Are you insaaaaane? I haven't finished te-..." Dr. Grodus starts to protest, but quickly backpedals and declares, "Actually, that's a PERFECTLY EVVIIIIIIIIIL idea. Muh hoo hoo ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" The video feed disconnects and a siren blares out, causing all the workers to immediately flee to an emergency exit located under the video screen.

"Attention! Attention!" An AI declares. "Hyperdrone detected in city limits. All personnel evacuate immediately."

"Well, I guess he's going to kill us." Slambam grumbles.

"Quickly! Let's head out the exit, Rookies." Zephyr encourages.

As they emerge from Kardonis Industries, the heroes can feel the ground quaking beneath them. They all look up to see a massive, UFO-shaped turret with a Bowser head at the top stomping around the city. "The thing's the size of a skyscraper!" Scratch cries.

"Th-that's impossible." Paris gasps.

"Not... for Dr. Grodus, it seems." chained skull mutters under his breath.

"That thing will flatten the entire city just to get to us!" Cynderfan sobs.

"Bruce? Zephyr? Ya still there?" Petey's voice suddenly crackles over their phone.

"Petey!" Bruce replies. "There's a big ol' doohickey that's gonna level this place if we don't stop it."

"I know, I know! I've managed to hijack a pair of security turrets stationed on top of Kardonis Industries. You two can use it to try to destabilize the Hyperdrone. As for the humans, when the Hyperdrone is destabilized, you guys need to latch on and make your way up to the core. If you can damage the core, it'll shut down the Hyperdrone completely." Petey explains.

"You mean we have to climb that?" Paris gulps.

"Sounds like fun!" Ash giggles.

"Let's get to work before we're getting served to Bowser with a bottle of syrup!" Bruce shouts.
