Sorry about the lateness. I had to get my license renewed. ^.^;

Boom Boom begins spinning around like a top and charges the heroes. They all jump out of the way pretty easily, except for BrutalBash, who trips over his untied shoelaces. "Oh no, BrutalBash, look out!" Cynderfan screams as Boom Boom picks him up.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Waluigi hates this!" He yells as Boom Boom easily tosses him into the lava, which burns him up in an instant. Troll Slug runs over and stomps on Boom Boom's head. The large turtle retracts into its shell and spins at the heroes, but he's rather slow so they can dodge it easily.

"Omg, dis guy iz teh weaksauce." Seiki exclaims.

"Yeah, I kind of forgot how easy Boom Boom was to fight." Paris admits with a sheepish grin. Boom Boom pops out of his shell and, before he has the time to do anything, Prex stomps him on the head a second time. Boom Boom retracts into his shell yet again, only this time he turns transparent. The heroes all see the dust he kicks up, however, rendering the trick relatively useless. They manage to avoid Boom Boom with ease. He pops out of his shell again and readies another spinning top attack.

"Oh no you don't, maaaaaaaaaan!" weebbby threatens. He picks up Ash and hurls her at Boom Boom, yelling "ASHDOKEN!" Ash lands atop Boom Boom's head and he collapses to the ground, defeated.

"Unbelievable. Boom Boom is down for the count!" Zip Toad states over the speakers, prompting a wave of boos from the crowd. Zip Toad descends to the arena on a hovering platform. He shoves his mike away and addresses the group directly, "Fantastic work, strangers I've never met before." He congratulates. He then produces a large golden trophy and a book with his mug plastered on the cover. "And now, the fruits of your labor. One dazzlingly brilliant trophy, and a copy of my new autobiography, Zip Toad: Lights, Camera, Me!" He tosses them to Scratch but, due to his small stature, he is crushed by the objects.

"Alright, why did you call us here? Are you trying to help us, or kill us?" Troll Slug growls.

"Can't it be both?!" Zip Toad panics. The heroes all glare at him. "Alright, alright," He reaches into his pocket a produces a navy blue key card. "Here, I swiped this off one of the Grodus Troopers. It should get you access to one of Bowser's headquarters in Shell City." He explains. "I'm not sure what's there, but you can probably find a use for it, right?"

1 hour later, in Shell City...

The heroes, with their key card in tow, head for Bowser Plaza. They're using the cell phone to call up Bruce and Zephyr. "So, what exactly is in Shell City anyway?" CG asks.

"A company called Kardonis Industries." Bruce responds. "It's run by some creepy fanboy of Bowser."

"He must be all hopped up on that 'flip-flop,' music the young folk are into these days." Zephyr mumbles.

"What's the company there for? It sounds like ill tidings." willspyro points out.

"Dr. Grodus hired them to locate dark matter throughout the universe!" Bruce explains, making his voice sound extra spooky.

"Dark matter? That sounds made up." Troll Slug guffaws.

"Most certainly not." willspyro states in a harsh tone. "Dark matter is a foul and evil energy that populates our galaxy. Its power is said to be unlimited, but harsh and uncontrollable."

"That's the thing! I think Dr. Grodus figured out a way to harness dark matter with some technomabobber." Bruce interjects.

"That ain't right, ya old coot." Zephyr scolds. "He's collecting it for Bowser. Bowser's gonna take one of them bubble baths in the stuff. The dark matter will make him completely invincible and then he'll proceed to conquer the galaxy unopposed."

"That sounds terrifying!" Cynderfan sobs. "We've got to stop him."

"Then we're gonna have to bust in to Kardonis Industries. You up for it Rookies?" Zephyr asks. Nobody answers, as the sound of an explosion comes through the phone speakers.

"Aww, phooey! They've got security patrols heading for our location." Bruce grumbles. "Rookies, get over here and led us a hand, will ya?" The phone call disconnects.

"Do we have to help them?" Slambam asks. Everyone glares back at him and they rush for Bowser Plaza.

The group arrives to see a large, navy blue UFO descend into the area and warp several Grodus Slicers into the plaza. Bruce turns back and sees the group. "Nice timing, Rookies! Help us take care of these stupid troops."

"...Hmph. Fine. Let's move, quickly." chained skull sighs.
