Okay, so even though I'm not posting flavor text yet, there's something you should all do before the start of the next challenge.

In the spirit of the upcoming American holiday, I want all players to PM me something they're thankful for. I'll be using those statements for the Day 2 (and possibly 3) challenge(s), so it's best if you don't share them with anyone... y'know... unless you've formed alliances already. Aha ha. If I don't have a statement about what you're thankful for in around 12 hours, I'm going to make something up for you. Have fun! ~_^

The Calamari Desert

The day after their daring escape from the prison, the heroes find their ways to the Calamari Desert. A harsh wind ripples through the area, buffeting sand in their faces. HCI takes a sip of water from a canteen. "Blech. This is an awful gig, see."

"I don't know what yer talkin' about." Ninpire dismisses. "This is great. Just like being back home on the ol' ranch." He states.

"Couldn't we at least have rented some Yoshis or something?" Chill huffs. "My feet hurt."

"No." chained skull glowers. Chill lets out an exasperated sigh.

"Bowser enslaved all the Yoshis when he took over." Troll Slug explains.

"That's just awful. Those poor Yoshis." Cynderfan sobs, streams of anime-esque tears pouring out from her eyes.

"Just what happened here anyway?" CG asks. "My friends and I got abducted by an alien. And when we come back, Bowser's running the place!"

"I remember reading about that in the paper." Weebbby mumbles. "B-But... that was three years ago."

"THREE YEARS?!" Slambam gasps.

"Haxxorz!" Seiki cries in astonishment.

"It's true." chained skull growls. "Around the time you left, Bowser got all these powerful robots. He stampeded around the world and seized everything for his own control." He explains.

"And those robots are the Grodus Troopers?" CG asks. He quickly answers his own question, "Probably. They look like that Dr. Grodus fellow who captured us."

"Wait, you've seen Dr. Grodus?" chained skull, willspyro, and Troll Slug simultaneously ask. They then look at each other, creeped out they were in unison. CG nods.

"Yeah. The guy's a nutcase." Paris interjects. "He's an even bigger fruit loop than Ash."

"Ohmygawsh, we have fruit loops?" Ash clamors in excitement. Paris sighs.

"And that's saying something." She mumbles. Amidst the conversation, the heroes realize they've entered a small, abandoned desert town. The buildings look empty and there are cacti growing in some of them.

"We're never going to find these guys at this rate." Sleepy harrumphs, crossing his arms dejectedly. "We may as well just go back and try to come up with a different plan."

Before anyone can respond, a shaky voice yells out, "INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT!" It suddenly stops and asks, "Am I doing that right?"

A second, crotchety voice responds, "Stay in character ya durn fool! They can hear you."

"Right!" The first voice acknowledges, before dropping back into, "INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT! INTRUDER ALERT! Attention whippersnappers. This is Co-Vice-Chief-Executive Admiral Bruce."

The second voice yells out, "And this is Lieutenant Commander Zephyr! Lay down your weapons, and get ready for a whuppin'."

"But, we don't have any weapons." Cynderfan states, a nervous sweatdrop running down her head. The heroes hear the creak of a door. They look to the side and see a Koopatrol with rusty bronze armor standing in the doorway.

"There are the scoundrels! Pulverize them!" He cries. He starts charging forward, letting loose a battle cry of, "Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Thinking quickly, CG splashes some water on the ground. The Koopatrol slips on it and tumbles over to a set of staircases as a Terrapin soldier emerges for it.

"I'll take care of 'em!" He cries as he hobbles down the stairs, only to trip over his comrade and land atop him. "Oooog, my shell," The Terrapin groans.

"Get yer rusty bumper offa me, ya ol' coot!" The Koopatrol complains as he shoves the Terrapin off.

"M-m-my bumper isn't rusty." The Terrapin protests. "It just hasn't been used in awhile."

"You guys are the old Koopa Troop members?" Paris gasps. The Koopatrol nods.

"Yer darn tootin' we are. Name's Bruce! This here's Zephyr." He says, motioning to his companion.

"This bodes badly." willspyro murmurs.

"What are you Rookies doing way out here, eh?" Zephyr asks.

"We came to ask for your help to take out Bowser." Seiki explains.

"What was that?" Bruce yells rather loudly.

"Turn up yer hearing aid ya fool. They said they want to take out Mouser!" Zephyr states.

"No, no, BOWSER! As in King Bowser." Slambam shouts.

"Oh, well why didn't ya just say so." Bruce replies. "Sure, I'm getting tired of that hooligan anyway. Going about causing nothin' but a heap of trouble."

"Great! So let's get going." Chill cheers.

"Not so fast, Rookies." Zephyr scolds. "Ya got to do a little training if yer going to take on Bowser. You need to learn to trust each other. Why, Brucy here trusts me enough to poor the milk into his cereal."

"...Ha! Ya put expired milk in my cereal just last week." Bruce glowers.

"Alright, alright, let's just do this training so we can move on." Scratch sighs.

Welcome to Day 2!
Today's game mode is... Know Your User Thanksgiving Edition!
A staple of every HIR Survivor, it would seem. I'm going to post a bunch of statements you guys sent me about what you're thankful for. Your goal is to guess which user said the statement. You'll PM your answers to me. If I get all the responses within the next 9 hours or so, I can end the challenge then. Otherwise, it's going to go until some time tomorrow. So, let's get started!

There's 17 players, and 12 sent in responses. So only 5 aren't on them. To be honest, it would be unfair to give you a user bank. The 12 people who sent in responses are automatically going to get 1 right, plus they're going to have a bonus point for meeting the deadline. So they've got an advantage. The only way I can balance that out, is to not tell you guys anything. That way, the 5 people who didn't submit anything still have a fair chance of winning. >.>

At the very least, I will tell you that I did not put in anything I'm thankful for. A few people decided to guess me for some reason. ^.^;
