Welcome back to those that have returned!
Quote: BahamutBreakerOK ... so, I'm back from my little 'vacation'.
First off, I apologize to anyone in this forum that I have offended unintentionally.
In the future, I will attempt to be less abrasive, but I do also ask that users accept that it's just part of my personality, to a degree.
I enjoy wit and sarcasm, and have little regard for pleasantries and superficiality. I also have little tolerance for polluters and thug trolls on internet forums, and my weapon of choice is to "fight fire with fire".
I accept and understand that many prefer the "don't feed the trolls" method of dealing with them, but it is not within my nature to be that passive. I also realize and accept that some less observant or less analytical users may therefore perceive me to be participating in the trolling, and I can only ask that you accept that I am combating the trolls, even if my methodology puzzles you.
Welcome back and nice to see that you can apologize for the mistakes you have found upon yourself.
You're free to be the way you are, the users are just trying to save you the trouble of being bothered by them. You may return to your "fight" with them, but in reality, it doesn't do much. You're basically yelling at a wall that's laughing at you.
Quote: BahamutBreakerThe truth is, whether you love me or hate me, you can rest assured of two things:
I can sniff out trolls and internet thugs more quickly than most people. It's a talent, and I'm not going to bury it just because it may offend some people's sensibilities. I don't want to be recognized as a "Batman" type vigilante of forum justice, but if the shoe fits, wear it. I'd REALLY appreciate it if the moderator staff here would agree to work WITH me, rather than just "Gnorc'ing" my account every weekend. I'm far more reasonable than what most people (moderators included) here probably believe.
You can easily tell when there's a troll. They're not that hard to spot. Keep in mind that, many users don't really give a crap about users that troll unless they get too "wild"
The hard to spot trolls hardly do any damage because, well to be hard to spot troll you basically don't attract attention to yourself. It's a bit hard to explain, but they just hardly do any damage and when they do, it kinda quickly blows their cover because there's only one way to execute it. Umm, you understand what I mean?
Point is, many others have this so called talent. You basically learn to spot trolls after spending time on the Internet and spending a lot of time in those areas where you might find trolls.
Don't worry. No one will see you as a hero here if you keep an attitude of a know it all. Seems you think that you're some special bean with extraordinary abilities. When you're just a users that has experience on the Internet to the point that you can call out a troll. An ability many others have.
You
can work with them. Report what you find as trolling and PM the Mod of the section and the Admin of the issue if you see nothing is being done after you reported it. A week has passed and nothing has been done? PM and Report until you get a response back.
Quote: BahamutBreakerIf someone like this "X-Treme" guy (a.k.a. "John 3-16") has people rushing to defend him and state how "cool beans" he is, then I'd like for ya'll to take a step back and accept that maybe, just maybe, ya'll are more naive and more easily deceived that you'd prefer to think you are.
X-Treme was actually a cool guy before, but for whatever reason he decided to become rude. That's what got him banned.
The reason people found him as a cool guy now was because John was being kind to some of the users here in Stuff and Nonsense. However, they have treated X-Treme's previous account differently because he wasn't as nice then. Also because he was being extremely obvious that it was him. With John he was a bit more subtle, so fewer people thought it was X-Treme. Some wanted him to stay because he was nice to them.
