I got all shrines complete now that they are on sale this weekend. 1 of each. Now I was wondering if you get multiple shrines of one specific element, does it give you extra bonuses? Besides of course receiving lots of wish stones. Any extras?
I got 300 gems left, and could purchase 3 more if I want.

Those extra bonuses apply not only to gold, but also to crops.

So, if you have 5 shrines in the element of the day, you get a 60% bonus on all crops of that type, as well as gold from adventures and sanctuaries, etc.

No way I could ever have even one shrine! Even if it's on sale! I have less than 10 gems, and each time I reach the 10 gem mark, I spend all of them on the Wishing Well when I have no wish stones left because I really want Birthday Bash, he'd be my first Alter-Ego! And, last week I just got a Skylander from every element, so Elemental Totems shouldn't be a problem completing. Except that they don't appear anymore! Neither do the disguised trolls. At least I still have Ma-Boo...

So probably the strategy is to get more of the tech, earth and undead shrines then. Especially the undead does a good job with the payout, as the time actually was reduced with 50% after getting wheellock. Is this what you guys do as well? getting undead, tech and earth shrines first?
Thxs for the tip, I didn't realize bonuses were adding up. So I definitely be spending all my gems on the shrines now they are on sale!

The shrines you get depend on which crops you use most. So if you would use tech, earth and undead most, then those would be the ones to get. I, for one, usually use magic, fire and undead the most. Then earth. I rarely use tech as they take too long. Though, I guess, I do try to use them on tech day. I just can't get as many in, in a day, so I typically like using the others. Water, Air, and Life should be last to build, just because the time on the crops are so short, that they are practically pointless. Eventually, it might be good to get them, just so you can get the gold bonuses and the wish stones for those days. We've discussed shrine strategy before, and different people do things different. Some like to get, at least, one of each shrine so that they would be sure to get wish stones every day. It really all depends on what's more valuable to you. Of course, if you get more than one of a particular shrine, you'll get double wish stones that day, so that could make up for the days you miss on other elements. The problem with that is if there are days that you don't play as often and those happen to be the days your shrines produce wish stones. I, for one, have 2 magic, 3 fire, 2 undead, 2 earth and 1 life. I only purchased one fire and one undead, since those are the ones I use the most. All the rest I've won in quests and the well.

You are capped at buying three of any shrine, so when I was buying them if I had two of any of them and saw a quest that would give me a third I would buy that shrine (if it was on sale, I'm cheap) before I won it, so I could end up with four. Like others I started out with ones I used for crops and magic for the cash. Now I am capped in everything but life, water, and wind.
Mark879, you can win shrines in quests and that is usually the most economical way of doing it or you might get lucky and get them from the well while chasing Birthday Bash.

Don't fret it too much. It seems like you just started playing, so be patient. I remember starting out and thinking how could I even ever have enough gold to get rid of the trees, rocks, etc. that you have to clear out. Now I just spent 10 mil gold on a Boat House and didn't even think about it much. I won my first shrine in the well. Then I won a couple from quests (although I had to spend gems to get the house/character I needed to get the quest). When starting out, your gems will be low. But now I have over 500 just sitting there. Now that chompy pods give gems every once in a while, and with the bats giving possible gems (if you have the right element of Swap Force), it's even easier to get gems. As you build up gems, start buying companions that give you more gems (Cape Girl, Hyde, Capybara) then giant/alter ego houses that give you gold payouts and even gems. As for winning the alter ego, the best way I found was to skip a whole month of trying for the alter ego. Just from basic elemental totems (not having Cherry), you can save up enough over that month to get the alter ego the next month. That's what I did, and got the alter ego at the beginning of the next month, then had an entire other month to save up for the next month. I know it may suck that you have to miss out on a month's alter ego, but it's the easiest way. Then you can always hope to try and win the past alter egos when they have special times when they are in the well. |

Actually I have been playing for months already, and just reached level 40. I have done without any shrines up to level 38/39. I spent my gems on companions first, and did just what you did with the wish stones. Getting enough for the month, get the alter ego and then save for the rest of the month, for next month.
So basically I am considering the shrines just now as they are on sale that much. First I thought to get only one of each, but then I saw so many players have multiple. I was wondering why. I just found out about the extra bonuses you're getting. So the next question for me was which ones to get extra. It would be so nice to get a house out of the wishing well, so that's what I am going to do first: spend all the extra wish stones in the wishing well. And who knows I might get lucky one day.... Thxs for all the input!

I wouldn't spend gems in the well. Alter Egos seem to come back to the well every couple months. Gems are a lot harder to come by. |

Your gems are precious - spend them wisely. Shrines have NEVER been 100 gems before. So shrines are the absolute bargain of the year right now. Early on, the most valuable and affordable companions are Capybara King (guaranteed extra gem from EVERY chest), Cape Girl (random gems from all enemies) and Hyde (one gem per day). Never buy anything with gems if it isn't on sale for at least 50 per cent off. |
