How do you sign up to Activate? I don't see an icon or notification or anything like that in my game. I wanted to start collecting Kudos!

Push your kudos icon at the very top right of your screen, or push the "banner" menu that unfolds at the bottom right and then push the icon that looks like two people. Either way will bring up two pieces of UI on the left and right side of your screen. On the left side you'll see a circular activate button, push that and you'll open up the activate UI. The rest is fairly tap and go! Of coarse if it still presents a problem for you post again and I or someone else will get you going!

Thanks but I don't have the Kudos icon on my screen, I will try the other way.

That's probably a typo. I think the question was supposed to be how the hell do we get INTO Activate.

Apologies to all my friends who have received less gifts from me over the past few days. I try to switch between players, but Activate continues to thwart me on a regular basis. If any of my friends are tempted to defriend me, I assure you I won't be the least bit offended.
