The newest Playstation 4 teaser shows crash bandicoot on a street sign:



Sony is set to announce "An Amazing Game" for the PS4 on Spike TV tonight.
Crash? If this is possible, I wonder if a Sony did a secret deal with activision. I wonder if this is true, could it open up doors toward Spyro also returning to Playstation?

He was going to be ps1 mascot but he fail, maybe is because of that...

This is pretty interesting...
Sony couldn't legally use Crash unless they had Activision's permission.

Another interesting detail you guys are missing:

Look above the Crash sign. Notice the arrow sign, and how it is pointing towards another sign that is an orange diamond...

...just like:

Activision don't deserve it. All they will do is reboot it and milk it like they did with Spyro/Skylanders. Even if you love skylanders, you cannot deny that Activision solely used the Spyro name and had him in the game in the original skylanders simply as a selling point.

Pardon me. But, aside from a couple of iOS applications, Activision hasn't used the Crash IP since they obtained it as a result of the merger with Sierra, and that was back in 2008. It's safe to say that, unless they really are trying something with SCEA, they're not gonna do anything with it. And I've already seen articles on Polygon about a Call of Duty and Skylanders in 2014. <.>

Yeah that's just a random Crash photo in the Vicarious Visions office that didn't really signal a "new Crash game" as most fans had speculated.

And the Playstation 4 teaser may have just used Crash's silhouette as a cameo and nothing more.

Well, this was proven false. The great announcement that Sony did with Naughty Dog was uncharted 4:



Shame. I love uncharted, but I really want Crash back.

They already tried to reboot Jak & Daxter, but it was cancelled (because it looked terrible, to be honest).

They are kind of done with Jak & Daxter for now. We've actually known there would be a new Uncharted for PS4 for quite some time (partly because of loose ends in Uncharted 3, and partly because of someone at Naughty Dog saying so on Twitter before the PS4 was even unveiled).

Well, i hope it is a Classic Crash Game. Not Like Crash of The titans or Mind over mutant.
Gives me nightmares even thinking about it.

Apologies for the slight bump, but today a Redditor discovered that all traces of Crash Bandicoot have been wiped from the internet. Activision took it off their site, and the original Crash Bandicoot website has gone offline. Sony still insists Activision owns the IP. Still, it's quite strange. Is Activision finally burying the IP?

I wonder what this means? Naughty Dog has finished work on TLOU, but is working on Uncharted 4 for PS4. Could they possibly be working on a Crash game as well? Or could it be possible that the people who revived Sly Cooper, Sanzaru Games, be working on a Crash revival? I hope if they are, they call it Crash 4 and pretend everything released after Crash Racing never happened.

ALSO, I seriously hope Spyro eventually comes home too.

A) They're actually working on something and needed to take everything down to get it updated
B) They're selling off the IP to another publisher
C) They intend to put the IP to rest... permanently.

Insomniac Games was simply the game developer of the original trilogy and never owned the Spyro rights. Universal Interactive, the real IP owner of Spyro back then, was renamed Vivendi Games, which published the LoS trilogy, and had merged with Activision since 2008. You can say, he has always been home.

I highly doubt they'd start an all new franchise like that. If they did something with him and skylanders, the farthest they will go is to either milk it by giving Crash his own Skylanders game, such as "Skylanders: Crash Bandicoots Adventure" or something of the form, or simply add Crash to the Skylanders lineup in a future incarnation of the series.

I doubt both of those.

Crash already has his own world in all (and no cardboard villains that died), adding him to skylanders would practically turn the franchise down a dark road of no return.
