Officially I am diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, meaning I have a harder time socializing with others.
I make up for this with an "easy going" personality online.
I am not blaming my disability, but this is so people know why I seem "awkward" or "wierd".
Sorry if I take things as true quickly sometimes.
Can all of you forgive me?

At the risk of sounding like a horrible person, I'm going to say no, I don't "forgive" you. I never had a problem with you to begin with. It's okay with me if you make what you view as mistakes or seem awkward. But hiding behind a psychological diagnosis is not okay, and you will not learn and mature if you continue to do so. Do people who are lower functioning on the Autistic Spectrum blame their Autism for outbursts? Generally, I'd say no. It's up to others to be understanding and work to accommodate people on the Spectrum. And if they refuse to do such a thing, then you try to avoid interacting with those people if you can. ;>.>

I am just letting people know that I do have a disability, I am not "hiding behind it". Just explaining how I seem "weird" to people that don't know. Also I never had a problem with you either In fact I admire your mod skills

You're more or less asking for forgiveness over a disorder, silly. Not that it matters too much. I'm sure a fair number of users here fall somewhere under that large Spectrum. <.<

So..
..You want everyone to know that you have Asperger's Syndrome so that they could see your reasoning behind certain desicions (and desicions you have yet to make), but don't want people to think that you're "hiding" behind your condition if you ever do anything stupid. You accept full responsibility of your actions (as you should) and submit to any reprecussions they might bring without putting the blame on your condition instead of taking it upon yourself. Seems good to me. It's only fair that you get the same treatment than everybody else does, right? Though to be honest I already knew of your condition. You've mentioned it many times before, usually whenever it seems that you were personally inconvenienced by the reactions to your actions in the past. Well, I guess that's just human nature. Nobody is perfect, and they sure get called out for it. |

Aspergers is not, and I repeat..NOT, a disability.
It's simply a personality type. I don't understand why people are calling it a disability.

Because it's a form of autism (a mental disorder) that makes social interaction difficult? Really, this should be a no-brainer. How is it not a disability in your mindset? |

@OP: I really don't think there is anything to forgive here. Unless you've done something that you think is related to your condition, I don't even see why you would make this topic.

Be careful not to mix normal social anxiety with Aspergers. You can't really diagnose yourself with these things. How old are you? |

And then there's the fact that the diagnosis criteria for the newly termed "Autistic Spectrum Disorder," changed with the 5th edition of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It's more difficult to get the diagnosis. But that's to be expected after the recent uptake in the number of diagnoses in America. <.>

I have a friend with Aspergers. It's not something one could just easily say they have because they are shy or a little bit awkward. This friend of mine has done some really outlandish stuff as a result of his condition.

Fun fact: 99% of the time, searching your symptoms will return some form of cancer. It might not be the first result, but it will be there. Leave the diagnosing to the specialists. <3

Hey, probably gonna sound like a *****, but I need to say what others have already said as well: Disability ≠ Better Treatment. Just because you have a disability, doesn't mean you can use it as an excuse. My cousin has Aspergers and to be completely honest I'm not believing you. He acts completely different than you do. I am VERY close with him and spend a lot of time with him to know well enough you two don't act alike. There may be different sorts of Aspergers or different degrees, but honestly I'm not buying it. You seem to lie and you've lied in the past and I just can't believe you. Sorry if this sounds super douchey but I wanted to input my thoughts.

Unfortunately, there's a saying out there that completely disagrees with this opinion, joerox: "If you've met one person with Asperger's... you've met one person with Asperger's." And it's part of a large umbrella known as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, which can encompass a wide range of individuals. Hence the saying. <.<
