Activate save corrupt [CLOSED]

Posted this on the Skylanders community, but I know support sometimes skims here, so desperation calls! I have alsao tried this with 1.8.0 that was just posted and it doesn't help.

I updated my game a few nights ago, and have not been able to access it since then. When it tries to connect to Activate to download my save, I get:

I assumed at first that it was indeed a problem with the download, so tried the usual troubleshooting steps:

Closed all apps and tried again
Reset device and tried again
Redownloaded the app and tried again

I also tried a rather extreme combination of the above where I restarted the device between every step I could (Downloading the app, downloading the first bit of content, downloading Activate info) and that did nothing.

To see if it was a problem on my device or with Activate/Activision's side, I installed the app on a spare iphone that had never had the app on before. I went through the tutorial, and then logged into Activate to access my save. As soon as it recognised my password was correct, it briefly went to 'downloading data' and then immediately to the same error I get on my ipad.

Clearly at this point it is not something on my end. I am sad because this means I will most likely miss this weekend's events, and since I signed up day one of the app and have put way more than I care to admit into it (Well over a hundred and fifty, not counting the actual figures we own), I was looking forward to it as something I've been with long enough to celebrate!

Please help, and hopefully before the weekend, I really want to see what's on offer and maybe pick up anything I managed to miss along the way (Though I am not sure there is anything! I've been distressingly completionist. Really, I'm your ideal customer. Please help. )

I feel your pain. my game corrupted the night before swap force was released. last week I was basically told I was screwed and that I had to start a new game on another activate acct. I've been playing for the past week and I'm losing interest in the game because I know what I had when my game blew up, what I have missed since then and what I'm missing out on now. I obsessed over the game for 10 months and now being forced to start over totally bites. smilie

I can flat out say I won't be starting over. If they write off my account, they write me off, I've put more money than anyone should into it and think I deserve to maintain my investment. If not, well, there's other games, but I will be sad as I really love Skylanders, and really love Lost Island. But I don't have high hopes, I admit, and missing the birthday event is sad too.

Have you phoned their support number? When my game became corrupted, another forum member recommended phoning and talking with a real person in real time. It still took time, but results started happening at that point, and I was lucky enough to get my game back exactly as I left it.

No go on Android. I may try phone support but my experience with Skylanders support in Australia is really low. I had two figures corrupted and no help was forthcoming. And I know a competent employee reads and posts here so hope my plight will catch his eye and he will feel sorry and help me. Safer bet than Activision au!

Tzivya- I've passed your info along. You've tried everything we would recommend, very strange that situation is happening on a second device. Hopefully someone can take a look at why this funkiness is occurring. It doesn't necessarily sound like your data is corrupted.

Can Activision only help if you use Activate? I posted in another thread how my daughter's game reset to the beginning. We don't use Activate, just Game Center. When visiting her Islands though it shows her old progress so that progress must be saved somewhere.

Since the kudos, I can not load my game played in the ipad, in my iphone ( is similar happens to you: my iphone game reset to the beggining, luckily I could continue the game in my ipad). I mentioned this problem and Activate answered me with some PM, but the problem is still there.
They make me a lot of questions about the type of error I have got loading the game, and I remember I've also had the message you comment ( I have got another error messages when I tried to solve the problem loading the game in other different ways). Now, they don't contact me via PM, the last time they said they were studying the problem......
I personally am convinced that the problem is occasioned by some kind of incompatibility with Game Center, right my game failed when introduced kudos, which coincided with the emergence of Game Center in the game. I have disabled GameCenter on my ipad, and even though I turned off on the iphone, but when I try to load the game, the notice of Gamecenter appears. Lost Island is the only game in which appears the Game Center notice, never appears in other games because I have load off the notifications of Game Center).

I hope your problem will be solved soon. In my case, I have lost hope (at least I have my game on the ipad, for now, with them you never know ....)

Hang in there - it does seem most people get their games back - even if its an older save with a whack of gems to get caught up again.

Are you getting feedback? I see above that Advisor Orville has passed your information along. If there is an open support case and communication going on, you should be back playing sooner or later.
