Legendaries are all at ToysRUs. They're common, depending on location.
Both Grim Creepers are extremely common. Single Star Strike is hard to find, but she can be bought online easily. LightCore Star Strike is semi-common. Smoulderdash is semi-rare, but can be bought online.

All of them are readily available either in stores or online as of right now. Nothing is rare right now if you know where to get it. Get your legendaries, Enchanted Hoot Loops, and Nitro Magna Charges now since those are probably what scalpers are gauging as most likely to increase in resale value if out of production. Personally, I've see all of the ones you listed in stock at TRU except for regular Star Strike, but that's because it's a wave 2 character and I haven't seen any of wave 2 at my TRU except for Knockout Terrafin. Then again, I haven't been to any stores scanning for Skylanders in over a week now.

I doubt there will be any rares, it's the 3rd version of one of the most $ucce$$ful franchises in video games.
Nothing you can buy from a retail store is going to be valuable, there are plenty of single 40 year old guys buying multiples and storing them in their original packaging to sell in a few years to other 40 year old virgins for roughly what they paid for it to begin with. Legendary Free Ranger, Grim Creeper, Night Shift and Zoo Loo will be clogging the shelves of your local Toys R Us just like Legendary Trigger Happy, Stealth Elf and Chill did. "Collectors" will continue to feed on each other trying to get all the Chase variants and if you see a strangely colored one (GITD/Stone/Glitter/Pearl) buy it and sell to one of those guys on eBay....could help offset the cost of your whole collection. It's a kids game just have fun with it and stop hoarding the beenie babies. |

As offensive as what some of what he says is, there is a great deal of truth to it. Rarity creates value, and there are far too many collectors keeping in the box Skylanders for them to ever be worth much (at least in our lifetime). What makes baseball cards, Star Wars figures and comics valuable is that for many generations parents threw that stuff away when kids got older, but now most parents see collectible value in those things. The more people hang onto them, the less they are worth. Collect packaged figures if you enjoy that, but don't expect them to ever be worth that much more than you paid. The hoarder mentality with this game is so out of hand.

Legendary is fairly common if you go to TRU, only place it can be bought. LC Grim Creeper is common everywhere. Star Strike, at least in my area, normal seems more common than the LC. I got a normal one easily and see them everywhere. Though places that have LC have plenty. Both are rather common. LC Smolderdash is semi-rare right now, though I saw one store that had a ton of her so I wouldn't call her rare or hard to find. Look enough and you'll find her.

The main reason for this topic wasn't for scalping purposes but rather to gauge how quickly something will become "rare". Meaning how urgently do I have to get the figure. Unless it's a high value one like the stone variants, I tend to keep them for play.

The Legendary figures from the first two generations of Skylanders figurines are in-demand and can not be purchased at this point unless you buy from the secondary market, typically for twice their original retail value, even in used condition. Very common at this point for Legendary Bouncer to sell for $30. Legendary Spyro, Bash, Chop Chop, Slam Bam, and Ignitor all typically sell for $15-$20 each.
There is no reason to believe that the current Legendary characters won't follow suit. Right now is the absolute best time to get them if you want to pay retail (or less, depending on the sale/promotion) for Legendary Grim Creeper, Zoo Lou, Free Ranger, and Night Shift. I suspect some or all of these might be still available in many Toys R Us locations into December, but you can fully expect them to be gone by January, at the latest. For any non-variant Swap Force characters, I don't expect any of them to be difficult to find until Jan/Feb '14. It does look like Lightcore Smolderdash and Warnado may be the first to vanish, but it's really too soon to predict with any certainty. What I can say with some certainty is that SOME character that is readily available right now in stores will be nearly impossible to find by this time next year. It was Boomer from the first generation of characters, and it appears to be Bash from the second generation of characters.

My local TRU still has all the Giants Legendary figures filling the shelf, also some SSA ones.
Certainly not "in demand" or rare here! I refuse to buy them to re-sell on ebay and I have no interest in them. I saw the Slam Bam tripple pack just last week. Only one I may get is Legendary Bouncer as he is the only Giant I don't have yet, but I don't actually like him so not sure about buying him at all. |

Does your local TRU have Legendary Bouncer in stock? I know the Giants Legendary 3 packs have made a return, but have yet to see Legendary Bouncer in stores around me. |

I haven't seen many Legendaries at my TRU at all. We started collecting last Christmas and the only Legendaries I saw was when the Giants 3-pack was released and Legendary Bouncer. After they were gone, that was about it. They may have gotten 2, maybe 3 shipments. I never saw a Legendary Trigger Happy. I hadn't seen a Legendary Stealth Elf, though, until the other day when there were 2 hanging on the pegs. I thought it was weird. I kind of wanted one since my son's Stealth Elf's head keeps falling off and it is Series 1, but I'm broke, right now. I put one behind some Flashwings. It was still there a few days later, so I'm curious to see how long it will be there
Even the Swap Force Legendaries have been hard to find. I saw a few initially, then they disappeared. I went in a few days ago and they seem to have gotten them all back in, so I wonder how long they'll last. That's also when I found the Stealth Elfs. So who knows? |

Good luck getting your Legendary Stealth Elf. I picked one up a long time ago. Money situation sucks, please don't hide them though.
I guess the answer may be try TRU online or a different store as stocks obviously vary a lot. |

This is the mentality of the collector, He believes because it happened 2 years ago with the first game retailers and other collectors have not figured this out? Toys R Us loves you... The Giants and Swap Force Legendary Toys supply exceeds the demand and will available for quite some time. |

Yes, they have gotten more and more of these figures, meeting and often exceeding demand. However, as is the case with most variants, they do not get re-prints. A store has to pay extra to have special figures made, and doing that for an old game is normally out of the question. A lot of the Legendaries popping up now are clearly them cleaning out inventory. If you are trying to predict what will be hard to get later, picking a limited run variant isn't a bad choice. |

Lightcore Smolderdash and regular are either very popular or getting rare. I've seen plenty, but none recently.
I've only seen one Fire Kraken to date - mine!
