Before I spent all my gems I had a look at what this weekends birthday celebrations are.
1. All companions 50% off
2. No1 fans return and you get them free
3. Double gems in all gem packs
4. All past alter egos return to the wishing well!

Fingers crossed I get the two alters I am missing.

When does it start?

I thought shrines would be 50% off soon? Is that Super Tuesday this week or just wishful thinking?

Shrines are 50% off on Tuesday. 50% companions is interesting. I'm not sure who I would want, though. Not counting the fact that I don't have enough to buy a lot of them, even at 50% off. Wheellock has a timed quest that gives you an adventure airship. You can accomplish the goals before buying him (other than, of course, having him), so it might be worth it to get him at 50% off and get the free adventure airship. Doubt I'll have enough, though. Plus I'm not sure I care about the double hero points, right now. I might once they raise the levels above 15.

About the only companions I'm missing are the real expensive ones (Arbo, Ol' Mac, Flynn & Cali) who I may never get at those prices, Gurglefin (who I'm not sure would be 50% off and don't need the stones), Cherry (still don't need the stones) and Ma-Boo (who would be cheap & may be interesting to buy for the fun of it, but still don't need more stones), Batterson & Avril (Avril might be more interesting if I knew we'd have a need for more kudos), and Wheellock.

Kind of bummed they're offering the #1 fans for free. I bought them right before they went away. Luckily, they were only 12 gems at the time, so not a big loss and they've gained a lot for me since then. I wish they would add some more. Maybe they will now that they've brought them back.

I've got my gems worth from the #1 fans so no complaints. I know I won't stop leveling even above 15 so I'm definitely getting Wheellock at 50% off, especially since they're throwing in an adventure airship. I can see a near future where I'm buying those any time they go on sale and I have gems.

I'm probably going to regret not hording kudos, but so far I'm not compelled to spend any gems on kudo generating companions.

Well then, you are certainly in luck. The following Super Tuesday is a double gold day, but more importantly, there will also be a 75 per cent off airship day.

Well, after this week I won't have any gems. But...awesome?

Any idea if Ermit is coming back?

I plan to take advantage of this sale but need to carefully consider who to snag since as I have a limited supply of gems.

I grabbed Flynn on sale and he promptly "broke" my energy strategy (~25 radiant energy fields).

I suspect that Ermit is useless without Ol'Mac to feed the energy demands.

I can't decide if I should add a few more radiant fields or go full on crazy and get Ermit/Ol'Mac. I cant even decide if I want those guys -> how much money per day do you need?

How does Ol'Mac work? Does he actually double your energy (i.e 50 energy becomes 100 energy) or does he give a bonus? (i.e 50 + 50 bonus)

I think I calculated that buying 30 or so radiant fields is cheaper and probably more effective than buying Ol Mac (when both are on sale) (especially if you keep your existing regular fiels). The problem is you need space for all those fields, but I just tuck them in every unused/hidden nook and cranny.

Volcanic Eruptor has a timed quest that awards a Fire Shrine. Anyone else have an Autumn Stump Smash quest pop up as well?

Yes, I got the Autumn Stump Smash quest to activate his house too. I completed it, got the gold, and now it's gone. Looks like no harm done - just strange.

But usually when I activate a house for the first time, I get the first quest for that house. Putting Bash into his house did not trigger a quest. I hope that collecting him for the first time from it will.

Autumn Stump Smash gave a quest to activate his house. The prize, I think, was a whopping 600 gold.

And yes, when you collect from BB's house, he gives you a quest to activate it again, for 600 gold. Better be careful, might get rich on these quests!

Some of it you can. The half price companions are available (got Avril), except they haven't halved Gurglefin's cost. The No. 1 fans are not available (tried). The half price Dragon Lair is available (got it). The 75 per cent off airships are next Tuesday, so you'll be back in time for them.

How frequently can you collect a dragon lair and how are their payouts compared to the other houses?

Dragon Lair is every 2 hours, but, well, not "that" different in payouts froma regualr house, nice to have but for me has only once after the firswt gems given me more than 6, and it was 6, first gem payout is 8, so, I assume 8 gems is possible. I haven't bought the dark house becdause its WAY more expensive than a regular house and pays out virtually the same. Looks nice though And if the Dark house is 600 gems, I may buy one just so I have one, I'll see what else is on sale first, and generally save my gems for houses now. I'm going to grab wheelock half price, turbo my guys to lvl 15, I'll see whats on offer first. I was hoping they'd release all the previous alter ego houses, so, saving for that also

Dragon's house will be lowered at half price..... (600 gems)?? It will be lowered the dark house too? Do you know at what price?

We have 3 days left to save all possible gems ...... I haven't got Dragon's house nor Dark House. May be I have to choose one of them....

I think the dragon houses are better, on the grounds that the dark characters get a bonus and can be profitably used in sanctuaries. Since levels and bonuses don't impact the house payouts that I'm aware of, it's best to put the least bonused characters you can into the houses, and a non-bonused dragon would be the best. (In this regard, I put minis in all my giant houses since I get a Gigantus bonus from my giants. I always make my giants the first skylander in their sanctuaries in order to maximize the bonus potential (unless there is no mini for their house, in which case I put them in their houses of course.)

That's why I was against giant houses, as I'd rather use them in sanctuaries, although I didn't realize how much gold I could get from the houses. Even then, though, you weren't guaranteed gold and the xp and energy gains didn't seem to be worth losing my giants bonus elsewhere. I did get Thumpback's house when they brought them all back. I've been alternating Thumpbacks in it while putting the other in the sanctuary. I have the giant sidekicks, but we haven't given them to my son, yet, so I'm not ready to use them. Once I do, I'll use Thumpling and Minijini in their respective houses and keep the giants out.

I do the same: put the helpers in homes and giants in the sanctuary (in first side).

If I have to choose, I prefer the dragon house because I have only a dark (dark spyro) and I have all the dragons.

where can you get the free #1 fans?

my companions only shows 27/34 with the remaining ones in 50% off..
