Blend it. Change your past and make yourself believe it. The only bad thing about it is that you forget who you are. The good thing is that you won't be disappointed on yourself.
Don't take my word for it, though. Just a suggestion since you seem to be bothered by your past. I do it differently so I don't know how well will it work with you. Play with your mind is what I'm trying to say. I guess. >.>

Genuine. Edgeworth apparently has some very wealthy relatives in-canon and I'm assuming his promotion came with a decent pay raise.

With that said, ARGH, MY WALLET IS ABOUT TO TAKE A HORRIBLE HIT. $250 worth of non-refundable deposits PLUS holiday shopping PLUS whatever food and gas I need. ;~;
