Pumpkin is all over the place, saw several at TRU yesterday. Hopefully they will stick around until you can find one.

And the Fright Rider chip bags aren't around as far as I can tell. I've checked several of the stores where they were around early for Giantkicks, and nothing - all they have is the standard bags. One store was low stock, so I figured they would be then be stocking them, but no it was more of the regular bags. And it isn't because the stock isn't rotating, kids are in school so they are selling them frequently.

The Wal-Mart in Gastonia (Franklin Square) had the the Swap Force game on the floor on Saturday (PS3,Xbox & WII U). Not sure if you would have been able to buy since the UPC wouldn't scan on the wall scanners. Also The Wal-Mart in Belmont had some of the Pumpkin Eye Brawl. Does anyone have any extra Giant Sidekicks, I'm looking for Barkley and Mini Jini?

aww thanks! If I can't find one today I will just have site to store ship to Walmart in Lake Wylie. I think they are delivering 10/14. I didn't see any Pumpkin Eye Brawls while out today but I didn't hit Pineville.

Also looked for the Fright Rider bags didn't see them and with the Bi Lo closing they don't have anything new, which is where I got the side kicks bags. I should be at Food Lion or Harris Teeter this week to check there.

Anyone buying both nitro magna charge double packs and wants to sell the extra magna charge. I havent gotten my severence and final paycheck yet and this is the only one im worried about disappearing fast.

For those of you around Charlotte who were collecting when Giants was released, can you tell me what the stores are like? Are they packed with lots of stock or only a few each of the exclusives? I am mainly after the Nitro 2 pack with Rattle Shake, I was going to head to Rivergate but not sure if its worth it. Will there be a huge line and 6 packs so they sell out before you get there or is it more of a smaller line and plenty on the shelf for a few hours?

My wife tells me that, although she wasn't present for the release date of Giants last year at Target, she did visit there at one point during November 2012 with my son, and they had a bunch of Granite Crusher on the shelves then. Of course, those were gone by Christmas-time, for certain, never to return. There's no way to predict availability of Skylanders based on past experiences, though. If you want to be SURE that you get the item you want (especially a store-exclusive variant), then I'd recommend just going to the store on release day when they open. If you're willing to sacrifice some assurance in favor of some convenience, then wait a bit. I do not believe that Target will sell-out of these Nitro Magna Charge packs immediately, but I doubt they'll be on the shelves for months. The truth lies somewhere in between most likely, but like I said, one just can't predict Skylanders availability. It's often a crap-shoot.

If it makes it any easier on you, send me a PM today, and I'll pick up an extra one for you tomorrow morning at Target, and then you can buy it off me, at cost, at your convenience.

Granite Crusher was available readily for about a week last year. I didn't get him until Wednesday, they still has several. I saw him periodically for about a month.

OK, time for my first post-release post to the Charlotte thread.

Based on the first couple of days at the major retailers, it's not even a competition ... Toys R Us has blown away all the other retailers locally. The Swap Force display at TRU Pineville is massive. They still have lots of Legendary Lightcore Grim Creeper, and a few Legendary Free Ranger remaining. And they got "Wave 2" in on Tuesday evening, so if you're reading this and want to get the newest figures "early", then head to TRU right now; they open at 10:00 AM.

Target stores have small, but decent displays up. The Nitro Magna Charge packs sold heavily so far, and there's still probably some left, but there won't be for long.

Sadly, BJ's Club still didn't even have a Swap Force display up yet (as of Monday afternoon). But it's coming.

Big K in Pineville was still in-process getting their Swap Force items on the shelves as of Monday afternoon ... they didn't appear to be in any hurry.

GameStop at the Arboretum was *badly* under-prepared for release day on Sunday. Not that this surprises me. However, I was able to get my pre-ordered Dark Edition Starter pack, and they did have the Lightcore Hex on-hand, and they did honor the Frito-Lay $10 coupon (even though the manager had to - willingly - do a manual override in the computer to make it work).

Couple of side notes:

I really hope that Skylanders never ever has another "big release" day on the same date as a NASCAR race in Concord.
My son and I met a celebrity during our first "hunt" on Sunday morning!

One thing I forgot to mention from the past weekend ... BJ's Club dropped their price on Giants to $8. They only have Bouncer, Crusher, and Swarm ... it's the same batch they've been trying to unload all year.
I doubt any veterans need or want these figures, but if you're new to Skylanders, this is a great deal on those Giants.

This is my biggest issue with this one, I'd hate to spring for the bag and only get a chance to win. Sure you get the chips so it isn't a loss, but it would be frustrating.

That's why you should have mailed out for the entries...46 cents stamp and an index card (you can get a pack of 100 at Dollartree)...won't set you back nearly as much as a bag of chips!

I found the Frito Lay bags today at TRU...I bought two bags and got nothing though. defpally--YES frustrating! You'd figure you'd have a 50% shot not a 0% shot. Sounds like the SouthEast is a bust for winning these since everywhere else have been using up codes and getting better chances at winning. Not sure if they have all "sold out" yet or not. Looks like I don't have time to do the post card thing so it looks like I'll have to do eBay for this one.

Also in North Charlotte you see remants of Wave 2 but really nothing available. After being to TRU Best Buy and Target the only Wave 2 swappers I saw was two Boom Jets and one Grilla Drilla. I did see a number of Wave 2 reposes and Riptide at a Target. Walmart had no traces of EHL.

I finally won. try entering the code first thing in the morning. I also found the rattleshake bags at walmart.

The shelves that lacked Wave 2 items last week now are loaded with Wave 2 Core characters; lots and lots of Scorp, Riptide, Chop Chop, Sprocket, Terrafin, Chill, and a bunch of others. The Wave 2 swapper characters still aren't abundantly available, though. The were stocking a couple dozen newly-released Legendary Night Shift, and still had decent amounts of the other 3 Legendary variants, especially Free Ranger. Plenty of Wave 1 items. Still had a decent amount of Giants, especially Ninjini and Hot Head, plus a few Gnarly Tree Rex and Halloween Eye Brawl and Lightcore Hex. There were Series 1 Adventure Packs except for Darklight Crypt, plus a random assortment of non-rare Series 1 figures (Whirlwind, Double Trouble, Flameslinger, Ignitor) and 1 Voodood.

Harris Teeter grocery stores have been stocking the Rattle Shake bags ... not that anyone really needs them. As far as I can tell, the "Pumpkin" Fright Rider bags never once made an appearance in Charlotte.

Me either. I heard others talking about it being in TRU, and luck would have it they were there while legendary shopping.

Quickdraw Rattle Shake bags are in TRU if you need them. FYI the codes are NOT printed on the bags. Based on my lack of winning from the earlier codes, I have to suspect the only way you can win NOW is to get a unique code from these bags.

on the bags i have there are very hard to read 11 digit number on the side that blends in with the picture on the front

I checked every inch and didn't see them...defpally frequents that TRU so maybe he can chime in. I personally didn't see any, but I understand they are hard to find too.

Haven't been in there since they got those bags. Not sure, but I believe the ones inside might be single use. Give Harris Teeter a shot and I saw some at Walmart, too.

Latest update for South Charlotte:

Toys R Us got hammered today by shoppers. It's the first time in a while that I can say they're looking just a little bit "picked over" for Swap Force characters. That said, they have a gigantic stock of Giants characters (Hot Dog, Drobot, Spyro, and Wrecking Ball can be found, if you search hard enough), plus a larger-than-expected stock of SSA characters, too.

If anyone is/was looking for Giants series Zook, Ignitor, Pop Fizz, Terrafin, or Slam Bam, BJ's warehouse club got a fresh supply of those recently, priced at $8.

Quick update on Target stores:

South Blvd was very poorly stocked last night and the sales clerk said they had no new characters available. He didn't seem like a particularly "bright light" and I've consistently received sub-par customer service at that particular Target store many times in the past, too.

Stonecrest location tonight definitely was already shelving the "wave 3" Swappers case. They were already down to only two Stink Bombs left after I bought one. I spoke with a much more helpful sales clerk there, and he said they had already emptied all their "wave 3" boxes onto the shelves. There were a couple of Spy Rise and about 5 Rubble Rousers. If you want to get Stink Bomb at Target on Sunday, I would suggest being at the door when they open. There will be a maximum of 2 Stink Bomb there in the A.M.

I did not check the Blakeney location tonight.

does anyone around here have a ps3 that would let me borrow their skylander disks? please pm me.
