Skylanders + Disney Infinity [CLOSED]

Forgive me if this is old news, but Today at Target some boy put a Lightcore Grim Creeper on a Disney Infinity Base. To my surprise, it blinked and blinked anyway despite not being compatible with each other's games (wish they were though, would be epic). I put LC Warnado on and he lit up too. I guess they think they can go into any game with a toy portal peripheral, huh?

Does anything else make Lightcore Figures spark other than the Portal of Power and Infinity Base?

Anything with RFID technology can make a LightCore light-up.

I tend to have playing with them by putting them on the back of a friend's cell-phone (I think it's the Galaxy S 2 or something like that).

They should definitely collaborate. Think about it: Your favorite skylander in a sandbox world, and being able to play online!

Someone suggested it, so I tried it... A couple of months ago I brought my Lightcore Pop Fizz and tried him on a public transit reader that reads our chipped bus pass cards. LC Pop Fizz blinked. I would have taken a picture but that wouldn't capture the blinking, and I didn't want to take the time looking like an idiot as I take a video, LOL!

I also heard (on these forums, FYI) that Infinity has some sort of game mode battle thing where you can scan in allies to back you up, and in that mode scanning in a Skylander brings in some ally (someone started a thread saying that so-and-so Skylander scanned in as so-and-so Disney character).

And also your favorite Disney Characters beating up Kaos and his Minions with Toilet Paper Guns, Paintballs, Pixar Bouncy Balls, Jack-O-Lanterns, a freaking Lightsabers!!!!!! (Disney owns Star Wars and Infinity will have a Lightsaber toy), and a couple of other stuff.

Besides, there are like 80 Skylanders total and some of them are either really weird or in reality, not as strong as they are portrayed. Some of the characters just look like they came from Freak Shows or the Zoo, it seems like Master Eon would let ANYBODY be a Skylander. I wouldn't imagine all the Disney Characters denied their Job Applications/

Even though a lot of Skylander fanboys are enraged at Disney for (incorrectly) thinking they knocked off their beloved franchise, Activision themselves admitted they were actually "flattered" that someone else decides to join the party with them and gave them a warm welcome, in the belief that Skylanders will (sadly) remain the top seller. I don't think they would mind merging them both together considering how Toys for Bob did make a Disney game once and that they are unfazed by new competition anyway.

I thought NFC-enabled devices can cause a figure to illuminate as well? Like many Android phones, certain card readers...

I believe the game mentioned was indeed Infinity, actually... I wouldn't have taken any notice of any Pokemon game, I know less about those. And Infinity coming out was the hot topic at the time.

Pokemon Rumble shares some of the same codes used with Skylander Characters.

Have not seen any crossover between Infinity and Skylanders, just the lights going berserk on the infinity portal.

I hope the companies are careful with what series they do have figures/games with. Also, if some figures were more playable (movable) that would be nice. Though I do have a fun time setting up displays of various skylanders having battles. Never feel like doing that with the infinity characters but they just don't inspire me. Though, I do like the Pumpkin Chucker (my nick name for Jack Skellington).

I really want to try my hand at making some infinity levels, especially Tron themed.

There is something universal about the skylander characters. I can see them in other stories, certainly the archetypes they represent have been in other fantasy and sword and sorcery tales.

1. Yes, it is pokemon rumble u they are talking about.
2. I have Infinity. Putting a skylander on does nothing in game at all.

Lol, at a small town's Target I visited while passing through, the skylanders display was glitched, so to see the LC effects of certain characters I used the Infinity display.

Yeah, my TRU's display has been hopelessly broken forever. I used to like to double check any figures I bought to make sure they worked, especially if they weren't going to be opened right away or to see which one had the best lightcore brightness. Good to know the Infinity one will at least help me with one of those.
