Not only did Walmart accept it the following week unquestioned, Best Buy (who doesn't accept Walgreens ads for price matching) hunted down a similar deal in their accepted competitors, all because I acted nonchalant and normal. I'll probably use it again in November for Wave 3 swappers.

As a note, Walmart accepted this for Lightcores as well. However, if you're a penny-pincher and you're willing to be patient, they're about a $1 cheaper on a B1G1 40% off sale (22-26*.8 = 1.2). However, if you're more interested in saving gas/ effort, the $1 may be better spent on the Walgreens price match.

Edit: As an added note, if someone is trying to keep their purchases to a minimum while getting a complete set of in-game variants, below is what I've bought so far (or plan to buy). I'll list the item(s) and the (price / total so far).
- 1 Dark Starter ($100 / $100)
- 2 Regular Starters (one console, one 3DS - planning to buy both at $40 price point) ($80 / $180)
- 4 Adventure/ Battle Packs (2 out, 2 coming) ($100 / $280)

This assumes you aren't using any price-cutting deals, except to wait on the starter packs. Hope this helps the thrifty completionist!

2nd Edit: If you use Amazon, you (probably) get the characters tax-free, and if you have Prime (students can get Prime for free), then you get shipping free too. Another good money-saving route for the triples/ core singles. I am buying Swappers (and LCs to this point) in stores for the price-matching, but using Amazon otherwise.

I'm still waiting for Black Friday ads. Wanting to pick up the 3DS starter finally and use one of my $10 coupons. Definitely not willing to go full price on that one, although I do enjoy them. I won't camp out to get it, but things like this will usually survive until the smoke clears on the rush. Most people camping are just there for TVs, laptops and such. Last year, I had a nice Thanksgiving dinner, had desert and family time then hit up TRU a few hours after they opened and still found everything I wanted. Crowd was there, and it took forever to check out, but at least I didn't have to wait in line.

Last year my mom found a three pack for 3$ at Fry's.

It was in the manager's specials area. It had Chill, S2 Zook, and S2 Ignitor.

Note that some retailers will take the Frito Lay coupons off of figures... i've been dropping $10 off Swap Force Starter pack coupons on Swappers and $5 off Giants coupons on regular figures. I picked up all of wave 2 new characters (Fire Kracken, Boom Jet, Grilla Drilla, & Night Shift swappers plus Scorp and Riptide) for $16.xx at Toys R Us while they were doing BOGO 40% off plus my employee discount. 4x $10 off and 2x $5 off. Coupons dont expire for another month and I plan to use my last remaining to get the regular variants and some series 2 & 3 characters I want plus the 2 new Toys R Us Legendaries

Note: That's considered fraud (read the fine print of the coupon). You'll probably never, ever get in trouble for it... but you never know.
