Without the Gems we wouldn't know when we'll get new Sparx Ranks. And we said that they are not currency. Currency is a system of money, by the way. Gems show how far or close the user is from the next rank.

To be honest, I feel like it should be a thing, but not with gems, you know? Like maybe with a currency called Dragonflies! But it sounds like a ton of fun to me!

Personally I never cared about the gems. Member ID#, join date, or number of posts would have been a more appropriate thing to put in our posts. But I guess dark wanted to be unique? <.<;

I'm guessing you haven't been around the Internet long enough to see that what we do is extremely common. Like you for example. People that whine. So yeah, expressing your thoughts won't get you anywhere. At least in the subject you are currently pointing out.

People in here are wonderful beings, even if they have faults. That includes the Mods(Only reason I mentioned them separate is because some of them do think they are separated. Either way is to not make anyone feel bad). Why are you insulting them when many of them haven't done anything to you? That makes you look like the bad guy here.

And so what if they're sad. We mostly have teens here and many teens go through a depressive state in which they feel that everyone hates them(Which, of course, is not true). Teens think they are an exception to everything, so of course you're going to hear them cry. They think they are extremely different and feel like they don't fit in. Sometimes using fake overconfidence to calm themselves down. Is ok to have emotions, you know.

If you don't like they people here, you are not forced to stay here. You can leave if you wish to. If you're going to stay, then you should stop whining because that's all on you for being in optional place.

Also keep in mind that people are sad here, but likely not all the time. Thing is that people are confiding in members of the site problems that are going on in their lives. We trust each other with this information, and trust each other to either help, or at least not be a dick about it. The reason for expressing negative feelings more often is because many people don't see much reason to talk about something good in their life, as they don't need help in that situation or the comfort of another person. People are more likely to seek help for problems than gloat to others about the good things in life. And by complaining about how negative they are, you could potentially be hurting them or betraying their trust in some way (though I would believe that one person shouldn't change that).

I like how people still continue to twist dark's reason behind getting moderators, and will probably continue to. The reasons seem to appear to be different for almost everyone, which makes me doubt many people actually aren't just being opinionated and wanting to make a statement by saying "THIS IS WHY HE GOt MODS".

AS FOR GEM EXCHANGE
It probably won't happen, though doing things with trivial online "currencies" are pretty fun, but can also get to people's heads, and can take a lot of work to implement when doing from scratch. The site doesn't really need any more "hooks" for people to join and stay.

Here's the thing. The criticizing went also to the users. She's angry at them for being depressive and not at all happy. I said that if she doesn't like the people here, she should leave. When I say people, I mean users that are not Mods or the Admin(You know, because there aren't that many Mods or Admins. If you had a problem with them, you could easily talk to them about it. A public topic would be easier). She wants to see everyone happy and see no depressive post from others. In other words, if you're going to talk about how hard time you're having, then don't post. If she wants for more than 100 users to stop being sad, she should give up now and leave if is bringing that much of a headache to her.

I suppose I generalized around the last sentences in my previous post, though. Since the whole insults to the users is what bothered me and made me respond. That's why I mostly talk about the people than the Admin or Mod on my previous post.

In that sense, I both agree and disagree. If she is going to do nothing but complain about the negative vibe of the site from the users and make little attempt to brighten the mood herself, then she is better off saving herself the stress and leaving. However, I think it's fine to express opinions on the users and how they act. Just so long as it's not a constant thing where nothing gets done.

It's not exactly impossible. She and others can bring a sense of optimism to the site which would reflect back on other users. It just takes several people.

And willing people that commit.

Yeah, almost all the forums ive been on use that, and it works fantastically.

Oh no...the last time a forum I was on did this it had to be shut down for the competitiveness.
