Went into Walmart today to talk to them about there layaway program ...I wanna get one of each swap force character on the 13th and put in layaway and slowly pay it off so I don't miss out on any wave 1 characters (works great for people on a budget) but when I went to go look at swap force stuff already put out (but not for sale till 13th) a guy was loading up his cart...and I said not for sale until the 13th he said I know so I followed him to see if he was going to buy them....lol nope he was hiding them by the cat litter (so he can find em on the 13th)...so I told a store employee and he put them back....so watch out sneaky people out there

Walmart Employees always check behind stuff. It's a common trick .-.

FYI - you can only put items in Walmart's Layaway if they're $15 or more. Only the Triple/Battle/Adventure Packs (and, of course, the starter sets) would qualify.

That is interesting uncle bob...I didn't know that. Ive never used theie layaway but alwaysthought it would be a back up option. Didnt know their was an item minimum.

One thing to note about Walmart layaway too is that if you plan on going at midnight to secure your Swap Force items you might have to wait around a while. Most layaway departments have certain hours of operation. You will be waiting until probably 8, 9 or 10 a.m. before you can have someone help you. With the $15 rule, this obviously excludes Enchanted Hoot Loop too. Nothing to see there for me.

Are you sure about that? I thought that it was the total of your purchase. So if you set aside a bunch at once and your total was obviously well over $15 they would let you do it. Regardless, I'm not expecting good things from WalMart with the release. I want the exclusives and that's it, the rest of my money will be going to TRU with their 40% deal.

I'm actually expecting my local WalMarts to crap the bed the same way they did with the Infinity release. Walked in on Sunday and they didn't even have the aisle reset or the stuff on the floor yet and this was around noon. Sunday is a terrible day to release something at WalMart since Saturday is usually the only night of the week that they don't get a truck in. This leads to a short staffed night stocking crew and the likelihood that stuff won't be put out on time. Add that to the fact that a large majority of WalMart employees don't know anything about anything other than where to clock in and out and when to take their break and timed release events end up being lackluster.

Wow that turned into more of a rant than I intended.

Indeed. And it is 9 AM to 9 PM at most stores.With that said you can ask a manager about putting an item that's $14.96 on layaway to see if they'd be willing to do so. I know our manager was willing to override it but that's going to be based on who's on at the time not store-wide.

Officially, Layaway hours are 9a-9p.

Truck nights vary by location.

The reason why Sunday is a poor release day is because *Tuesday* is the traditional "New-Release" day - so they know *something* is going out, every Tuesday, without exception. The off-release days, unless someone there is a fan, it's a huge release that management has been notified about or someone comes in asking, it just won't get put out.

Depends where you hide them. Ive hidden items for years and found them months later. Just need to know the good spots in stores

I've had a Red Drill Sergeant hidden in the bottom of the aisle hidden under the automotives section and it's still there...

Do you plan on doing anything with it?

In all honesty the decent thing to do there would be to pick it up and put it back in Electronics. If you're not going to get it at this point, chances are someone else might.

Yeah, and people wonder why the online store stock counts are so inaccurate. I've returned many Skylanders to the pegs in the past when found elsewhere. People do this a lot in Target to try and wait for it to go on clearance.

Honestly; Ask the customer service to hold it for a day, then ask them to hold it again.

I don't expect ANY of the new guys to be rare; the reposes "harder to find". I suspect they throttled back inventory on those guys on purpose. But rare for anything? C'mon...100 million and counting of these little guys...

The "Treasure Hunt" variants will continue to be rare and a scalpers market. The store exclusive variants will be rare if you wait a month (even if your store has some scalper or employees that don't put them out or shipping problems, online ordering will be available for a while). I'm sure one or two normal ones that have a drought in future cases will be rare come Spring (think S2 Slam Bam/S2 Bash/Fright Rider).

But, if you go get them in the next week or so, you will be able to find them easily. Possibly something not at the first store you go to, but you can find it. And online will always have options. I'm sure there will be people that see dollar signs that go to a store and try to buy lots of stuff, but as we saw last year they end up with mud on their face as they sheepishly returned a big bag full of Swarms/etc. Activision faced an unknown market the first year, figures didn't really take off until Christmas and they were not prepared for it. Last year they had stores stocked to the brim and more came were shipments coming in regularly.

Skylanders is not an unknown and the first couple of Waves are going to be plentiful. Remember when everyone freaked over getting Flashwing, Sprocket and Hothead? Yeah, those shelf warmers the stores can't give away now.

They really don't do that because of store policy. I had to fight hard for them to let us tell customers we'd hold it for an *hour*.
