Mega Man has a lot of history with Nintendo. And he was highly demanded (second most demanded character for Brawl, first being Sonic).

That sounds like an interesting moveset, but there is one problem with Pac-man.

There just isn't a way to include an iconic model for him. When people think Pac-man, they think of the basic geometric shape he was back in the original. But that look wouldn't look right in Smash Bros, and would be difficult to make a moveset for.

And while his 3D incarnation could easily have a moveset, the 3D model for Pac-man isn't very iconic, as the 3D Pac-man games were not very popular.

Personally, if there has to be a Namco character, I'd rather a Tekken character. To me, I think having a character from the king of fighters would be a worthy addition to the roster of the king of crossovers.

If not that, a Soul Calibur character could make sense, as Link was in Soul Calibur II.

The only person I could want in SSB4 is Snake. With Toon Link, Sonic and Megaman in it already though, I'm fine if they don't put him in.

I can think of a few. Not sure of button placement, though:

Slot Machine Gun: Layton makes this in "The Lost Future" (third game). He uses it to escape from a bunch of agents who are trying to shoot him with actual machine guns. It's basically a hefty, rapid fire weapon that shoots coins. It'd be one of his specials, for sure.

Various fencing techniques: Layton is very talented at fencing. This could easily cover most of his standard attacks. He's also quite athletic (I've seen a GIF of the Ace Attorney VS Professor Layton game, in which he dodges a knight's sword strike by flipping into a handstand, and doing an upside down leg split, where he then propels himself into the knight and kicks him over).

Throwing dirt in an opponents face: In "The Eternal Diva" (the first movie), Layton is attacked by a wolf. It goes to pounce on him, but he quickly throws dirt in it's eyes, momentarily stunning it. This could be his down special, I'd imagine.

Puzzle Pieces: If they were struggling for moves, they could easily create some using simple puzzle props. An example could be Layton throwing puzzle tiles at opponents (in reference to a recognisable puzzle type in the games). Each time he throws one, the picture the tiles form is different, with a varying effect (similar to Mr. Game & Watch's side special).

Final Smash - "Puzzle Master": Layton spawns various puzzle pieces from various puzzles in the games. There'd be a random selection of them, so not every puzzle piece would show up every time you use the move. Opponents would have to adapt to the puzzle situations presented, or they will be KO'd. The player's control would switch to the puzzle pieces, in order to make it easier to get KO's. Meanwhile, Layton sits down at a fancy table, while sipping a fresh cup of tea.

Reasonable characters I want in are: Ampharos (Pokemon), Little Mac (Punch-Out!!), Zoroark (Pokemon), Ghirahim (The Legend of Zelda), and Tails (Sonic)

He's probably gonna be in due to the fact that Ganondorf wasn't in Skyward Sword. Or Nintendo could just be lazy and decide to put his twilight princess form in HD. As for other Zelda characters, maybe we'll finally get Toon Zelda in this time, which I could see happening, but then again it mught spoil Wind Waker, for instance instead o fhaving a Toon Shiek, she could turn into
