Anyone have the Dragon Island? any good? 2 hours is ok and is it max 8 gem payout? it'll still take a very long time for payback, but, it'll look nice on my island but, vs 6 HQ's? not sure the gem output will be all that on 6 HQ's. Or keep my stash and buy Giant Houses, I only have 5 so far. I do have 10 legend halls. I do feel Giant houses will have a better payout then the Dragon Island, but, I just think the island will look nice

Side note, do I try and plump 600 stones into the well after I have Skeletal Cynder? chances of some nice stuff pretty low? Random I guess....hmmm......

The HQ is not all that great. The payouts are very low compared to regular houses. Max 2 gems.

Right now it appears 1 regular house is better than 2 HQ.

I used about 60 stones to get skeletor, up to that I got a b&b and a 100k payout. After that I dropped in about another 90 stones to try for more b&b's, didn't get one top prize, just the mundane crap like elemental markers and crates. So unless you have nothing more to spend your stones on, I wouldn't recommend it. Also I bought a cadette HQ and wish I saved my gems instead. The rewards from it are pretty lame, so I won't be buying another one unless there is nothing left for me to do in the game.

Well, I for one AM outraged (not at you--your observation is unfortunately dead on). It is a very lame implicit message that I don't like being sent to my daughters (or any other woman/girl).

I bought a HQ, man, a complete waste of time, rarely pays out gems, max 2!? no more. Well, I have Skeletal Cinder and 600 stones burning a hole for a shrine/house/b&b if I'm lucky. So I was just going to lob em in, see if I got lucky. Dragon Lair also doesn't seem too apealing yet, apart from the look of it, and the, oh wow I have one I think I'll wait till hopefully they re-release all the giants houses again and go for 5 of them

I've never gotten more than 3 or 4 gems from a giant house an it's very, very rare at that. I'll go days, sometimes over a week, before I get any. Sometimes, I forget they even award gems. If the HQ gives out only 2 gems but more often, it might not be as bad of an investment as everyone is making it out to be.

I don't understand everyone 's bashing of it either. I have all but two of the Skylanders and the HQ Is a perfect fit for the ones that don't have a house, and it was only 200 gems. Its a much (MUCH) better bargain than the Dragon Lair.

my opinion is to save the gems for the giant house when they become available again. I think it'd take a while for the hq to pay out 200 gems. However, I agree that they're worth the investment for skylanders without houses.

I just don't like the look of the HQ. maybe if it ever goes on sale I would hide it behind some trees. The giant pink female symbol just needs a tampon and a pregnancy test on top.
I like the looks of the dragon house, but the 2 hour payout doesn't help me as I often have to go 8 hours before checking in again. I bought one as I have the other houses and had just gotten an iTunes card, but I somewhat regret that use.

By the way, Dragon Lair is good, high payouts as you'd expect from the value of it, but, Cadettes HQ is the single worst purchase EVER! Paid out 2 Gems first time, and not one single gem since! avoid at all costs unless some patch upgrades the payout chances!! All payouts are pathetic, I'm considering putting it into the investory! 200 gems, its not worth 50!

Like I said before, is it really any different than a giant house? I only got 2 gems from my Ninjini house the other day and it's the first I've gotten in days (or even a week).

It is worse. The payouts are easily half a regular house. The gem payout is 1 or 2.

It is better than doing nothing with a skylander, but there is no way that is worth 200 gems when a regular house is 350.

What else are you doing with your regular Skylanders? I'm personally glad for something for them to do as I am too lazy to regularly send them out on missions and they're almost always doing nothing. When you put a giant or alter ego in their house you're sacrificing extra gold in sanctuaries or on missions, but these guys don't have any other bonus than the element of the day. I know gems are important, but I think for only 200 gems it isn't a bad deal and you if you must quantify it gem for gem you can factor in how many gems worth of energy or gold you get.

I can see you might want a stack of them to rake in money/exp/energy, dont expext ANY gems, but, with room on the islands getting quite tight, I'd consider them, literally a waste of space! Save your gems for giant houses of the future, FAR better payouts on all fronts! And the payouts are pathetic!

Eh, space isn't so tight in higher levels. I waste a lot more space with bs decorations that aren't even boosting XP. If I were worried about space I could delete the 24 wishing well pumpkins I have on my undead island to make room for six of them.

I think everyone understands that the regular houses are better but if you already have most of them and you have enough gems to consider a dragonlair, then I vote for the HQ or even several of them. If you are able to load the lair every 2 hours, it's a much better deal to get it at 800. With a gem payout of up to 8 it's easy to outpace the HQ. I'll still use the HQ (have 2 in fact planning on 7 total) for skylanders without other houses. I also agree with saving for the giant/alt houses first if you don't have them. They're bound to come back again (I hope by the end of year).

It is true that only costs 200 gems, but the rewards you get are crap. Worth the giant house (I'm missing a few of the beginnig of the game), even worth the legendary house.

I don't have gems to buy the home of dragons, if I knew they were going to put in sale for 800 gems, I would not have spent 200 gems in the house of the girls. So, I could buy the home for dragons, now that this lowered ..
