For the record, I defriended everyone BEFORE saving to the iPad, manually saving to the cloud, and THEN applying the update. It didn't help. Activate still remembers old pre-save friends.

Unfortunately, this with this new "feature" that rewards new friends and spurns old ones, I don't imagine it will be long before the word "churn" starts being used in these threads...

Speaking of churn. I have 38 invites (and growing by the hour) and my friend list is full. I could be a real jerk but I'm not going down that road...

But I did dump everyone that had not logged in the last 1 day.

I cannot understand why I have 99 friends in my Activate account and the game shows only 96.
The problem is that these are 3 new friends, so I am missing 150 kudos.

Although I have a very loyal group of friends, i'm open to refresh some of them, to earn some kudo points.

My problem is it takes time to get the Kudos. It's that the game became work. Personally I think games like this are better designed to allow me to pop in and out for 5-10 minutes rather than sit down and slog through a 60 minutes of click a name, find the shiny, rinse/repeat.

My morning routine was to fire up the Kurig and start clicking through my collections and missions while I finished a cup of coffee. Now I'm going to have to fire up the full pot just to get through all the Kudos collecting.

What's going to really piss me off is when they offer a new companion that automatically collects your island Kudos for 3000 gems. This just reeks of a setup to add another big ticket money sink into the game. I've never had a problem with the premium item but this one might be too much.

Btw, while I'm complaining congrats to those who got a free Thump house. I'm a little irritated they didn't refund gems to those of us that bought it at full price. I don't have issues when they offer things at reduced rates after I paid full price but it's pretty annoying when they eventually offer it for free.

For the complainers out there, here's some thoughts that have helped me keep all of this in perspective.

-So far all that can be purchased with kudos is 1 skylander, a worthless mabu house and a few decorations. They have not materially altered the economy of the game with kudos. At least not yet...

-I don't think people HAVE to visit friends to collect kudos. You get upwards of 100/day just from gifts. This just means it will take a little longer to win that skylander but it by no means makes it impossible (I will have to retract this statement if they keep the good Admiral available for only a very short time that is not achievable without visiting friends).

-They made gifting significantly easier and more efficient, so the 100/day shouldn't take very long to acquire at all. Net/net--you'll be spending less time playing the game.

-Most of the good stuff in the game has always cost gems. The best possible way to get gems has always been to visit friends islands (I'd get 15-20 a day just from visits). To the people that complain that they are now forced to visit islands, how did you get gems in the past? If you relied on other means, it takes much longer to acquire gems. If you were OK with that, then not visiting islands and taking longer to collect kudos is just more of the same.

I'll agree the UI change is nice but Ill disagree on most of the other points.

First, visiting is not the best source of gems. Th best source is buying them. Which I do when an item shows up and I don't have enough in the bank. This is the first premium currency that can't be countered if someone is willing to lay out some cash.

Secondly, there is nothing to suggest they will stop adding more impacting items. Consider the sheer number of wishing stone items they have added since February. Seven new Skylanders and 10 useable houses. At an average of 200 stones each that's 3400 wishing stones. My issue with Kudos are the sheer volume needed.

Now, I'm probably being pissy because we are on the upward swing. I've said it in other threads that wishing stones start to be a non factor as people are able to build up a stock pile. It will most likely happen to Kudos (after they add Kudos Shrines and Cherry's Twin sister Terri the Creepy Wilikin Mail Lady).

I'm done complaining. I've said my peace and I will go back to tap tap tapping away while I wait for anther 60+ Skylanders are released in 3 weeks.

If they accept your invite, it will automatically add them to your list. When it does, you should see a red and white exclamation by the friends icon to go and collect your reward.

Yes, The grey timer icon means you have to wait. I haven't tried timing it, but I assume the time between gifting is still 22 hours. The green envelope is to send a gift. The yellow gift box is to receive a gift.

It is taking a while to accept all invitations. I have to remove a user (damn 100 cap, it makes no sense), choose the other, accept it, wait to synchronize everything...Almost 3 minutes each new friend.

Others have tested and apparently that does not work.
