1. They kick the ball to the offensive team when the first and third quarters begin.

2. They kick the ball to the other team after they've gotten a 4th down and have no other choice but to punt it to the other team, who then starts a 1st down (basically, their turn on offense).

3. They kick the ball for a field goal (worth 3 points) if they're at 4th down but are close enough to kick it through the giant goal at the end of the field.

4. They can also kick the ball for a field goal after they get a touchdown (worth 6 points) for an extra point.

So there is kicking. There just isn't a lot of it, making people question why it's called football.

This doesn't make much sense to be called football.
