Please tell me I'm not the only one here who is completely pumped for this game. Getting it for Wii U on Day 1.

It looks bloody amazing. I've been playing the Challenge App like crazy in anticipation for it. My overall ranking is really high now, nearly into the top 500.

I can't wait for Rayman legends. I'm just mad that they changed the release date just so they could make it for other gaming consoles.

It's not all bad. That delay also gave them the oppurtunity to add 30 new levels to the game, as well as several bosses.

Also, why has nobody yet told me that this is one of the game's alternate costumes?

I loved Rayman Origins and played Rayman Jungle Run too.

I am excited for Legends, but I don't have a Wii U and not planning to get it. Let's hope Ubisoft releases it for other consoles too.

Really? I last checked it a few months ago and it was Wii U exclusive. Anyway, now I'm more excited for this game than before!

The whole reason it's coming out so late was so that it could be ported to all the other consoles. And I'm still holding my breath because I'm expecting another delay. <.<

I believe the game has already gone gold, and recently, a video was uploaded that showed all of the content accessible from the game's main gallery. Plus, the Challenge App on Wii U is going to become useless when the game releases. So I think it's ready to release. Let's not speculate delays for the sake of it... And they better not delay it because I just placed my pre-order on the game today! :I

Also, anyone who hasn't picked up Origins may not need to. Rayman Legends includes a mode called "Back to Origins", where 40 of the 66 levels from Rayman Origins will be remastered in the updated engine.

Also, the Kung Foot mini game looks like amazing fun with friends. I'd use it as a drinking game if I drank alcohol!

The reason it was ported to the other consoles is because one of Ubisoft's high-profile, Wii U exclusive launch titles for the system, ZombiU, sold poorly, so, realizing that Rayman Legends probably wouldn't do very well as a Wii U exclusive, they ported it to the other consoles.

Actually, ZombiU sold a fair bit more than Ubisoft would like to tell us. While the sales it made wouldn't be anything special on say, Xbox 360, considering how the Wii U's install base is not as large, ZombiU actually sold pretty well as far as Wii U games go. Also consider how most sales figures unveiled by publishers don't include digital sales.

The only thing about the game is that...I've already got more than half of the Teensies. I've only had the game for a few hours.

And yeah, I've beaten the last boss, and seen the credits roll, but I still have to unlock the "Living Dead Party". And play through "Back to Origins". And I have to finish a few Invasion stages, and collect some things I missed during my initial runthrough.

And the online challenges will keep me occupied, as they always have. I honestly think they made me a bit too good at the game, and that's why I found the main game so easy (it honestly only got challenging at Olympus Maximus).

Definitely worth full price though, and worth the wait. I hope the game does well, it deserves high sales more than the likes of GTA V, IMO. And the developers said there is a good chance we will get DLC, which I think could be amazing.

Also, Kung Foot is the most addictive multiplayer game ever, and I've only played 1vs1. They should definitely consider greatly expanding on Kung Foot, and selling that as a digital release. I'd definitely buy it.

Also, once you beat the last boss, you unlock something really cool:

You unlock a special kind of Invasion levels, the Dark Rayman Invasions. This was really cool for me, as just yesterday, I 100%'d the original Rayman for the PS1. In the last level of that game, there was a section with Dark Rayman where he would chase you by mimicking your every move. He behaves the same way in Legends. And in some Dark Rayman Invasions, you have to kill every enemy to go from room to room, on top of the normal time limit of the Invasion stages. So yes, these stages are absolutely brutal and mercilessly unforgiving, and much harder than anything found in Origins.

And here's the Japanese boxart (it's the reverse Kirby formula):

I take it you don't live in North America then? Still got 4 days. I guess that's fine, as my dad is taking me to get it the day it's released, but I really can't wait any longer. Unfortunately, that's also just before school starts for me. With all the work I'll have and the fact that I can only play on weekends means I'll rarely get a chance to play. :/

Anyway, since you have it, can I ask a few questions? They're not spoilers, they're just things I can't seem to find on the internet myself. So real fast:

-How long is the game? I'll get it regardless, but, I do enjoy a long game. If I tried getting 100% on it, how long would it take? Would it last me more than a day? I have Rayman Origins, and that lasted me about 3 days. Will it last as long?

-How many costumes? Are they cool? Just a curious question.

-How many musical levels are there? I've heard 10 (5 licensed songs/5 Rayman made songs) is that right?

-Most importantly, are bosses fun? I've seen a video of the first. It didn't look too exciting, but maybe that's just because it's the first one.

Sorry for the questions. They were really forming an itch behind my ears though.

How long is this game?
This will depend entirely on your skill level, specifically on your ability to collect lums, as you get different cups in each stage based on your lum count, as well as unlocking the Lucky Tickets. I only missed a handful of cups on my initial run through.

I've also collected over 400 of the 700 Teensies, and that's just on release day. However, I've certainly spent over 10 hours on the game so far, and many modern day games can be completed in that time. I've just over 50% in the game, though keep in mind I breezed through a lot of the game as I did everything in Rayman Origins, and I was really competitive in the Rayman Legends Challenges App. So I'm really good at the game (I'm in the top 80 in the cup rankings right now), which cut down my play time tremendously. Even so, it's still a lengthly game for me. And I will personally play the Daily Challenges until they shut down. I also want to do a multiplayer playthrough sometime, and Kung Foot makes for a great excuse to boot up the game when friends are over. I also may compete in the Leaderboards for the Invasion levels.

The main adventure will probably last you longer than it did me, if you are limited to shorter sessions. Legends is much bigger than Origins though, especially since it features more than half of the levels from Origins.

How many costumes?
I'll get back to you with the exact number, but there are a lot. I haven't unlocked them all yet, and won't for a while (one requires you collect all of the Teensies, another requires you to bank 1 million lums). There are also platform exclusive costumes. If you tell me what platform you intend to get the game on, I can tell you what ones you'll get.

How many musical levels?
The information you have is actually false.
This question is difficult to answer without spoiling anything, but I'll say this - there are 12 music levels technically, but there are really only 6.
5 of them are licensed songs, one is a very popular Rayman song.

Are the bosses fun?
Yes they are very fun, including the first one. The only boss I didn't like was the Toad Story one, as it was personally way too easy for me, and it was over before I knew it.

Hope this helps.

Yeah that helped lots! Thanks! I just wanted to be sure what I was getting was truly worth it. I expected the game to be great, but sometimes I'm wrong, so I thought I'd ask those questions to be sure. smilie Oh, and I'll be getting it on the Wii U. I've heard interaction as far as Murphy goes and simply playing the game is much more fun on there.

So I 100%'d the Legends side of the game. THAT WAS QUICK.

Now I have to do Back to Origins.

Also, quick warning, but...Murfy is REALLY meant for multiplayer. The AI Rayman just isn't very good outside of the Murphy levels in Teensies in Trouble, meaning secrets are harder to get, and even normal progession can be bothersome at times. It's still enjoyable when it works, but if you're getting this on Wii U and Vita, then I recommend trying your best to have a friend control Murfy at the parts where he is mandatory. Murfy himself controls excellently, it's just that the AI Rayman isn't as good as it should be (I've had times where my AI partner would glitch up and stand in one place and never move forward. Another time, my AI partner simply jumped up and down in one place. Things like this will force you to restart from the last checkpoint. Hopefully this issue is patched, and it may have had something to do with the delay of the Vita version in Europe).

However, the Wii U and Vita versions are still the definitive versions of the game, as the converse situation occurs in other versions - a finnicky, AI controlled Murfy. Not only is it more boring (using Murfy feels more like doing QTEs than being a fully interactive experience), but it slows down the pace of the game, and can be awkward.

I don't intend to use Murphy but I know there's levels where he's necessary to progress. :3

I love the music for 20,000 Lums Under the Sea. Just pure awesome, James Bond-esque espionage music. ^.^

You may also enjoy the fact that the title for almost every level in 20,000 Lums Under the Sea is a pun on the title of a James Bond movie, or just references James Bond in some way.

Yeah, the titles were pretty good. It's how I realized what genre they were going after before I heard the music. <.>

Today has been a fruitful day...

---------

So seeing as I've 100%'d the game, I actually would like to address some negatives points I have about it. The game is my GOTY 2013 so far, but there are some nitpicks/minor criticisms I have...

Lack of Storytelling Elements - OK, so I know people are gonna say "but it's a platformer", or that "Origins had no real story". But Origins did have a very interesting story, though it was very subtly told.

I was hoping Legends would build up from the story of Origins, but it doesn't. There is one opening cutscene explaining why the heroes even set off on their adventure, and it's amusing. But that's it.

There's also the fact that each world, and each level, feels like it's supposed to tell some kind of story, but nothing develops. Not to mention that the levels always feel large in scale, like they are part of something big. But they aren't really, in the end.

Also...
The game has no real ending.

Barbara - Kind of linked to my last point, but you know how she was bigged up to be this cool new character?
Well...she has no introduction. Nor do any of the princesses, they are merely unlockable skins. I think they're cool, but I would of liked some fun, cute cutscenes about them. Just something to build their characters (beyond their three line descriptions).

Murfy AI/Rayman AI - Already talked about this. Not terrible, but could be a fair bit better.

The 700 Teensies reward - This is incredibly disappointing...
It's just a Golden Teensy. I would be alright with this skin lacking any special qualities if it was something cooler. If it had to be a Teensy, they should of gave us The Magician. Instead, we get a generic skin (Golden Teensies replace Teensies you've already saved, so you can distinguish between them and the ones you still need to save. They have no special meaning beyond that, meaning I would have no reason to want to play as one).

The 6th world is a bit disappointing - I still quite like it, and it's fun. But I feel there should of been a bit more to it.

This game is perfect besides these things.

@Brawler

My thoughts exactly. I don't care about the storyline though. I thought it was interesting. You're right though. Origins had an actual beginning end sort of thing.

I also thought...
Barbara has 12 skins including the Wii U exclusive. I like her and all but...I was hoping the characters would have an equal amount of suits. Globlox has about none. Rayman has...7? And the Teensie has a little more than Rayman I think. Honestly, Rayman has the coolest costumes, IMO. They should have been a bit more creative with Barbara and Globlox specifically. Most of their costumes felt like re-colors. Raymans' stood out to me more, as simple as they were, really.

I'm not a fan of Rayman but I tried the demo and liked playing it especially the Castle Rock level. I bought the full game the other day and I am really enjoying the game.

5 more teensies and I get "the prize". <.> Personally, I would have preferred the reward to be a grand level of some sort. A level full of their best ideas or the best musical level they could come up with

This should really be an official ad for Legends. It's pretty much a metaphor for the games awesome co-op experience:

I saw this guy with a purple rayman costume. How do you get that? I'm not talking about Raynesis or whatever it's called with the yellow eyes. (Dark Rayman from Origins, in other words) It's a re colored rayman with different shades of purple. No where to be found in the heroes gallery. Am I missing something? I got the Wii U version and its' exclusive, so it can't be an exclusive, since the exclusive I got is the only one for that system right?

And in case you're wondering, I faced his ghost in a challenge, so it's real. I'm positive.
